I've spent my fair share of time playing this game online. I have to say, I'm ****ing through with it. I'm completely over this whole game. All it has been is a complete disappointment since day 1.

The community in the chatrooms of this game is probably one of the most foul, disgusting, low-life, scummy communities ever assembled. Almost everyone is a complete *******. Everyone is out to exploit this game, and exploit the chatroom with your loss. It's completely disgusting. The anonymity of the internet really turns people into incredibly disgusting beings. If they're not spamming you in a match, they're spamming the chat with some racist, salty, ********.

Almost everyone I have fought either picks Scorpion, Smoke or Raiden (or just counter picks to who I pick),and spams some ******** at me(no, I'm not pissed off because it "works" because just about 80% of the time, it does NOT work). If they DON'T by chance do that, they pick a broken ass character(like Cyrax) and do the latest TylerLantern or Check4900 70% combo on me. And no, you don't always have breakers on hand to deal with this shit. It's becoming increasingly ****ing annoying and a complete waste of time.

Honestly, what is the point in dedicating myself to becoming really good at this game if it's broken as **** like it is? What pisses me off more is how excited I was to become proficient at this game before it's release. I was HYPED. Couldn't wait. But honestly, Armageddon was less of a disappointment (and I think we all know how big of a pile of shit that was..). Anyways, I'm through with this iteration. Back to playing whatever else I can get my hands on until Rage comes out. There's no point. I'm shelving this ********. Permanently.

How many of you guys are finished with this shit too?

PS- I am in no way done with TRMK. I love these forums.

Maybe taking a break will help you cool down. No matter what fighting game you pick, there will always be a character that people will pick more often.

I stopped playing for a month or so in june. I'm pretty much done now. The amount of people playing is dying down too. Offline, sure. I'll play with my friends. But meh. No point in the online feature of this game anymore.
 
I took a 3 week break, not by choice but because of work and school. It turns out that was exactly what I needed to feel a little better about the game in general.

I couldnt agree more with you, i still play cos its quite fun. I was starting to rage a bit but after taking a break It annoys me still but i dont let it bother me as much. I agree the online community is ridiculous and could be quite possibly killing the online even more. The game is broken too i dont care what anyone says about playing smart etc there are some matchups in this game that if both players are skillled you cant win, unless its pure luck.Im not sure if its the mixture of spamming projectiles and ridiculous juggle combos married into one game like the bastard offspring of mk and tekken, actually works well as a balanced fighter. I just wish most of the community would grow up. Allthough the most of them sit there smuggly dialling in combos using terms they heard at the tournies or online and thought they would copy it to sound like they no more than you, imagining they are pros, a mountain of mountain dew next to them, pouring sweat everywhere, beating there mothers with there arcade sticks everytime they loose or miss a combo, as there mother made them loose by listening to the tv too loud or pixelated news paper of in game shake of the screen caused that much stress and distortion to them that it caused them to loose.
 
I know what you're talking about, but try avoiding those type of ppl. I usually play with the same players, in private session so I don't get annoyed by those 24/7 MK players... Yesterday I faced a Sektor player that kep spamming the damn missile... what's the point of repeating the same stupid thing?

But other than this, this is such an amazing game to play! I really enjoy some friendly matches. No stupid competitions or something like that.

Yep, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm just through with it. I've taken breaks and come back just to see the same shit that made me take a break in the first place. Now, I don't doubt that I'll play this with my friends offline and the friends I have made here, but just regular online play. Nah. I'm done. The community is destroying it, they can have it.

The most fun I've ever had and probably will ever have with this game is here in the TRMK community. They're mostly really good and always getting better providing more of a challenge, it makes this game enjoyable for me. Yeah, I too am going to stop regular online too, beating Scorpions every five minutes got old fast, but the deep gameplay didn't.

Right now I'm in the Capcom scene, MvC3 because of my love of the original games, and it does really good to spread out in games.

coz if your a dick in the chatrooms or in game,

all 20 of us know about it lol..

so everyones pretty cool.

might not get games as frequently as you do, but i get goodpeople, who have gone to great lengths to get this game in OZ.

quality over quantity i guess..
 
This is why I stay away from online play. I have enough stress without my day being ruined doing something that I should enjoy.

Ever been in the Mic only room? maybe only like one out of 20 people i've met are douchebags. I think it has something to do with being able to communicate. I always have this feeling that the guy is thinking douchebag thoughts when I can't talk to them. But I'm starting to come to the conclusion everyone "thinks" like me. It's just most people act on it which creates this non-stop cycle. And those guys "spamming dirty language in the chatrooms" Come on man. I'm willing to be it's just 2-8 guys per room talking that trash out of the 100.

once again... I don't see how "spam" is such a problem if you have no problems beating it. It just means you keep fighting shitty players. Go find some good ones?

I have a high tolerance for BS. But MK9 worse than armageddon? really? That game was a joke when it comes to depth.

I've lost to raiden's rock scissor paper play. that only does like 10% damage to me when I guess wrong. But you know what? I chock that up to me being crapy at rock paper scissors 10 times when all I needed was to win it 3 times to kill him.

couldn't agree more, i never got into online play and never will. mainly due to how people are on the internet and reading threads like these. seems with games it all about the wins and not about fun. so instantly i am out lol i don't care about some gamer score or some win/loss ratio. i don't even care about achievements lol i wish there was a way to get rid of those. i remember when the 360 first came out and i heard of those i was like are these points you can buy stuff with? no just to show your "ranking"...uhhhh pass. lol

given the internet age, people are just too nasty and vile since they have their trusty computer to keep them safe. i will never understand comment sections on news articles lol. one yahoo news article will have like 5,000 posts lol in a week that article will be completely forgotten but man that many people felt some need to make some comment that will never be acknowledged lol its just everywhere, like when Amy Winehouse passed away i saw articles where people are saying crap like "good riddance" "deserved it" im like really? and its only gonna get worse. the abuses of the internet, and its gonna be the same with video games. (see came back to topic since i knew i trailed off my apologies) lol
 
Well i just started playing the game about 4 or 5 days ago. My last fighting game i had was MK1 o_0

Anyhow, my first immpressions of this game is that it will take a lot of practice and will be rewarding at the same time so i cant really comment on the gameplay issues. What i can comment on is your view of the community. All i have to say is what rock have you been hiding for the last 7 or 8 years. There has always been salty people out there full of stupid comments. However, on the other side of the token there are cool people out there as well. And whatever online game you go to your bound to run into these problems.

It seems like your just on a rant and are rage quiting the game cause it may have a few flaws. Every game has flaws get over it. And i've only been on this site for a couple days and made some friends already to play with. So if your so worried about playing online with spammers, then make friends and have your own lobby or player matches. Theres really no excuse for what your bashing the game on cause theres always a way around it. Now, if your tierd of the game and want to move that different, what a surprise! No game last a life time. I just quit LOTRO after i've played it for a year. I founded a kin with over 300 people, with nearly 50 fully leveled kinners. The kin is well known and respected. I just gave up being the kin leader cause all i want to do is play MK9. Now that game has flaws but i didnt rage quit it and bash the game cause of its flaws on my way out. Its simply time for me to move on as it is for you. you need to mature a bit and look at things a bit more balance and logically.

Why? cause it just like your trying to flame and troll. You like the fourms... But you go to MK9 section and bash the game. Thus, you have no credibility from me, ane with MK9 flaws, it seem MK9 is better with out you anyway.
 
I've been done with this game a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago

I've played almost 1500 matches and won a good at least 65-70% of them but 40% of all the matches were fun. The same characters are abused along with the same tactics. Then there is spamming and turtles and other douchebags like that. Now I only play ladder and with my friends who are actually willing to play with me because they can't beat me. I am only good with Stryker and Mileena. I don't put my time into learning characters and becoming a more "pro" like player because the online community is so garbage at most times, I'd rather show off to a f**king CPU. My xbox live membership has been expired for like 2 weeks and I don't even want to renew it because I could care less about MK9 online. I'm only getting gold again so I can have like party chat and stuff like that. F**K MK online. I play video games to have fun, not to kick ass but deal with immense bulls**t.

MK: Deadly Alliance isn't a better game but I've been playing it for years. No online. I don't know a single combo. But it's fun because it's different with its opponent and tactics. I don't want to go to ranked and face Raiden and Ermac over and over again. Then in player match everyone is just an ***hole.
