The Official MKX Live Stream - January 29th

I have been saying from the beginning that Johnny nor Sonya will be playable. DLC? Yeah, I could see that. Main roster though? No. I also say the same thing about Jacqui and Jax.

This game is all about the NEXT generation of fighters. It's kinda hard to get across the whole NEXT generation when their past generation counterparts are still around.

I think everyone getting worried about the roster not having enough new characters is really getting worried over nothing. I kind of believe the only MK9 characters that we will be getting after Ermac is Mileena. Fujin is in the game. IDK why I'm so certain of that, but I am. So, that's 11 returning characters. I want to take a guess that the last people who could take that spot are either Tanya, Havik, or Liu Kang. I still also feel like a 3rd row could be added though. 4 of those spots would be main roster giving us a grand total of 28 main roster spots with the other 8 being DLC. Yes, 8. I think NRS are going to go all out with DLC this time.

I wanted many returning from MK4-MKA, but sadly I do not think they will get more than cameos. I do think the "A MK character" which Ed referred to months ago is Fujin though.

Just got home from work so here are my thoughts

1. Ermac - Yawn. Wasted character slot
2. I really hope that select screen is NOT final because now im getting upset seeing more MK9 characters added, and the roster spots continue to dwindle
3. The new stages look cool, no complaints there
4. Ermacs Fatality was boring as hell compared to all the others
5. Kung Lao's Fatality was cool
6. I think its pretty obvious where they were going about how some costumes we have seen so far are alternates. Kitana, Cassie and Dvorah confirmed for having slutty stripper clothes as defaults.
7. Thankfully the gameplay looks great. Still doesnt increase my hype level though.

Wasted slot? Lmao did U even finish MK9? Cause I dont remember Ermac dying. And then you say his fatality was boring but Kung's fatality was SO SIMPLE... Lmfao U have to be drunk
 
Personally, I only use the term 'wasted slot' when it comes to copycat characters, but some people sure are ignorant, selfish and short-sighted.
 
So far I don't view any character as a wasted slot... Sure KL and Kitana(if it's her) better have a good reason to be in this game.. But other than that no. The only character left is Mileena(if she isn't Kitana). And the possibility of Kabal(cmon he was only stepped on) but nightwolf is what I would consider to be a wasted slot, his death had meaning.

My goodness, Ermac looks Freaken awesome and just plain badass, well done. At first I wasn't set on his new look but after a while, loved it. Yeah, wasted slot, please but can't always make everyone happy.
Those fatalities, cannot complain one bit.
 
Im just sick of all the MK9 characters but im looking on the bright side. Soon all the MK9 guys will be out of the way to we can finally see the new characters

It's incredibly short-sighted to claim a slot is wasted when you haven't seen the whole roster and don't even know how many slots are available.

It's selfish to think a character is a wasted slot because you didn't want to see them.

There are plenty of characters I don't like in MK9, but I don't call them wasted slots because they are there for a reason. Either because many other people like those characters, or because they needed to be in because it's a trilogy game. You don't yet know the full context behind why NRS made each roster selection in particular, so throwing out the word 'wasted slot' before having all the info is ignorant.

It's short-sighted and selfish to see that amazing characters, most of whom I don't care for, are in the game for people to enjoy?

Must be a more positive version of those adjectives.
 
He doesnt like the character or his inclusion, you do. There is nothing more to it than that.

Im indifferent entirely. I think the character looks decent enough, but I will never play as it.

I personally would rather have Baraka if given the choice. That doesnt make my opinion any of those aforementioned adjectives.

One thing I agree with him on in particular is that the repeated returning characters announcements are killing my hype a bit. Again, the game looks and plays phenomenally. But their approach so far is a bit bland to me. It all looks good for certain.
