The Official MKX Live Stream - January 29th

To be fair, the thought of bringing Liu Kang back in any form makes me groan and would ruin my excitement for this game a bit. Different strokes.

I actually don't mind Liu coming back, but it's the rest of the dead that I don't care for coming back.
I hope that Sindel, Jade, Kabal, Cyber Sub-Zero, Nightwolf, Stryker and Shang Tsung just stay dead.

ironRod: That would be perfect! I'd love to dodge shit. Imagine.... IMAGINE.... You fight him once... nothing... you fight him twice... nothing... then another cutscene where someone else helps you... you play tag team in story against Ermac/Jerrod!! He could be as hard as the bosses in MK Mythologies... I'd LOVE that... although I'd probably destroy my TV from rage haha...

29 minutes for the stream. I can't wait. BTW I had to close the chat on twitch, and I really hope none of you understand portuguese.

I speak spanish and french so portuguese is 95% understandable to me.

Please take lots of screencaptures of the selection screen, loading screen, char intro, etc. I doubt I'll be watching the live stream since my internet connection is bloody awful.

Why would Ermac be the main boss though?
I can't see a reason for it.

He is, in theory, one of the few characters powerful enough to actually warrant it for starters. And the idea they presented works. Let's say Jerod takes enough control of Ermac to become a dominant force. He's now the King of a realm that never was freed from Outworld. That was killed in an invasion with Outworld. Even without Quan Chi and Havik (two master manipulates) he could be a ferocious leader in an attempt to free his home world.

I think Ermac being a massively powerful entity is pretty well established at this point. He just needs a reason, and to not be chained to someone who clearly wouldn't want them to be THAT strong. He has those.

what purpose is there for ermac in the new timeline then i dont think he will be good this time

Just because it is a new timeline, doesn't mean that what happened in the old timeline can't happen again. I liked how Ermac became more spiritual in MKD and was kinda like this guide who could feel the One Being, searching for a way to stop it awakening etc. And in the new timeline, I liked the whole thing about the strongest soul within him being Kig Jerrod. I'd like to see that explored some more, maybe have him team up with Kitana and help freeing Edenia.

Every character has the potential to do something great. It all depends on the story writers. IF Ermac ends up as the main boss, I hope there's a good reason for it.

Why would Ermac be the main boss though?
I can't see a reason for it.

He won't be, that's the thing. It takes time and build-up for characters to have a legitimate reason to be bosses. This is the reason that certain bosses just did not live up to the title, namely Shinnok, Blaze, and Onaga. Ermac being a boss this early in the reboot is silly and too random to make sense at this point. Could he be one in the future games? Sure, if they write him well and explain how he's becoming more than just a warrior asset for established bosses (shout out to Shao Kahn). Until then, though, I don't think it is acceptable to make him anything other than just another high ranking general for either Mileena or Kotal Kahn. Again, this is just my opinion but there's not enough of a reason for him to all of the sudden be grouped in with the likes of Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Quan Chi.

And more than that. Ermac is not only Jerrod. He probably has the strenght, ability and knowledge of thousands of warriors.

That's another reason to find peace. Imagine how many people are thinking, acting, fithing and talking together.

IMO spiritual Ermac is a matter of existence, or he does that or...he goes crazy.

Imagine if Ermac is final boss... imagine having to fight all the souls he contains... all those random dudes... imagine Ermac's souls being a sub-sub-boss within the final boss fight and then actual Ermac being the sub-boss... with Jerrod controlling Ermac against his will being the third final real boss... basically 3 fights within 1... 6 rounds total.....

thats what I was thinkin. as much as it would hurt not beign able to use Ermac I think it would be for a great cause. I mean Ermac is the perfect final boss, he's like the upgraded version of shang tsung X1,000,000!!!. imagine how epic that final boss fight would be.

The final boss fight could feel like a contra boss fight. u will not just be fighting Ermac you will be fighting a ton of souls and the enviroment. there would be boulders flying around that u have to dodge, shit falling from the ceiling, jumping over giant spiders lol.
Ermac can have u fighting one of his souls while he hovers away for a few to take a break and replenish his energy/health.he can cause like earthquakes having that shaking visual effect that can mess u up and drop combos, thats what I want some cheap ass near impossible final fight.

PLEASE UPDATE THIS THREAD AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE DURING THE STREAM.

It's one thing to be on a message board during work, it's another thing to neglect work and watch an hour long stream.

It would be EXTREMELY appreciated if this is done.

You just gave the reason. He wants to free Edenia. But no ruler can just hand him it, cause Outworld has no ruler. Soooo.... Take it over himself, then free it. Unbeknownst to him, he plays into Quan Chi and Haviks hands.

The best villains tend to think they are in the right a lot of times. It's why Shao Kahn always fell flat to me. This is an interesting door to take.

ermac is a uniq fighter but i believe having as as main bad guys is a hugh step then just a shao kaun lackey or a good guy fighter having him as the main bad guy bring more mystery to him on who really is ermac
