Ummm... I've only made one comment in this thread, so I'm pretty sure I'm not the one with the reading/research problems. I don't read comics, either. lol

It's quite alright if you don't read the comics because comics are pretty much a dying media nowadays and nowhere near as successful as they were 10 or 20 years ago.

The problem with Bane is that media (TV, movies, cartoons, etc.) often portrays him as this huge brutish idiot who can't think on his own. Usually, this means he is a tool for some other villian, or simply is used to destroy stuff. Bane is much smarter than he is usually portrayed, and given this is Nolan, I am confident he will use Bane not only for his brawn but his brains as well.

If you didn't read the comics, which is fine nowadays given how much these characters have grown from being in panels to starring in blockbusters, you would no know this. Anyway, Bane is much more complex than he is usually portrayed, so I think Nolan made a good choice here.

Catwoman doesn't appear to be a villian here, but more a stand-in hero for Batman. If you see the teaser in front of HP7 (which I read a text translated version of), you'll find it seems Batman has gone into hiding. This means that crime will rise again, and Catwoman will fill Batman's shoes, so to speak. At this point, Batman will likely be a legend as Ra's described in the original movie because he disappears(again, my specualtion). It seems Batman will have to redeem himself and either work with Catwoman, who may become his opponent at this point, or fight her.

Talia has not been confirmed, but some mysterious woman (whom I forgot the name of) is climbing the ranks of WE. Here, it is specualted that she is Talia. I don't know much about her to approve or negate this, so it may very well be Talia or simply a new love interest. Ra's' flashbacks may be from "Talia", or Bruce. As I said before, Batman's fallout would cause him to reach legendary status as the Dark Knight who disappears after bringing the terrorist known as the Joker to justice, and taking the blame of the 5 homicides. Therefore, Batman will be a legend, and Gotham citizens will fear him because they believe he killed 5 people and he was able to cripple the criminal systems.

Nolan has some leaveway as to what he does with these characters(Batman, Catwoman, Bane and Ra's), so he will make another great film. The real question here is, will Nolan be able to top The Dark Knight? Stay tuned, same bat-channel, same bat-time!

After comments before you already explained how Bane is a smart criminal, you come and start talking about how he could fail in TDKR because he is just a brute and not a smart criminal. If it is too hard to read the comments before you, then maybe you should at least type Bane in the task bar and several links would come up and say what kind of villain Bane is. After some people already explained about him, it is stupid that you come later on and leave a comment saying that he is just a brute. You are the one that has reading/research problems.

Sorry that I offended you and your vast knowledge of DC Comics and for talking out of my ass, your Majesty. If they portray him as a smart villain, that's great. He should be a fine adversary for The Bat, but like I said, I don't read comics and the only way (even in Arkham Asylum) I've seen him portrayed is as a brutish pawn for other villains. I'm not gonna do a search like that because I don't really care.

I thought the teaser was pretty awesome, I think I'm more hype up for this film then The Avengers now.

Seems legit to me
Shaky cam and kinda muffled but the chant at the end sounds like "Bane, Bane, Bane! Matar le, matar le!"

This movie is going to redefine epic. I can't wait to see how they portray Catwoman. Also, to those doubting Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, remember when Heath Ledger was first cast as The Joker and people thought he was a terrible choice? That, of course, changed when we saw the first footage of him. Have faith in Nolan, he hasn't failed us before and I highly doubt he will this time.

I can't wait for the movie to come out so I can see it. Hope it is as grreat as the second movie.

For those who have doubts about Anne Hathaway as a bad girl, remember her main role in the underrated movie Havoc. She was portrayed as a rich girl, who got too curious with the violent street life and fell to the wrong crowd. She let her curiosity get the best of her judgement.
Anyways, hopefully, she can adapt to her role as Selena Kyle real easily. Just wondering if she's very conditioned when she does her action fight scenes and flexible during the theivery scenes.

All I remember is BOOBIES.

But yeah, she has the potential to pull off a darker character, and I don't really doubt her range. I think what I most have reservations about is how they'll fit the actual character into this universe. Michelle Pfeiffer did a good job as Catwoman in Batman Returns, but Burton's take on the series was way too different to expect anything even remotely similar here, and that's about all we have to gauge how well the character works on screen.

I'm curious as to what extent she's going to be altered so she doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. It's really hard for me to picture Catwoman in this series, so I gotta figure that this will be a fairly dramatic reinvention.

Personally, I'm not sure Nolan's interpretation of Catwoman will be a straight antagonist or a straight protagonist. I think she'll be neutral as I've always thought she was.

teaser trailer was dissapointing, but what do you expect, its a teaser. There's more to come eventually.

I'm just worried about bane though, Nolan's extreme realism can work on characters such as the joker,scarecrow,catwoman. But I dont want them trying too hard to make bane seem too real, and he ends up more of a weakling. I dont think he should be overly huge like in Arkham asylum, but theres got to be an inbetween, at the end of the teaser, it shows bane's shoulder ,and batman ready to fight, foreshadowing that he's gonna be scary, but I still dont know yet.


It's the same annoying realism that made MK Legacy so crappy, and I hope they dont screw up bane with it.

From what I read from people who saw the big screen version said that it looked like batman was kinda backing down or hurt during that scene. Either way it seemed like Baine had the upper hand over batman physically which is something I can't wait to see play out in the movie. I feel like Nolan knows how much everyone liked the joker cause of how menacing he was and will do everything he can to live up to him, but in a different way.

Finally the HD version was released. Batman does look pretty beat up at the end too.

Really unsettling to see Batman all worked up like that. Makes Bane even more scarier.
