The Dark Knight Rises ~ USE SPOILER TAGS FOR SPOILERS, NO OPEN SPOILERS

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

lol batman and robin sucked! there arent many movies that ive seen in my life that are worse than batman and robin. even batman forever was like 100x better.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

yeah. Batnipples were stupid. But not just the only problem with George Clooney. The guy looked bored as hell and like he didnt even give a shit as if he's just waiting for his paycheck. But I guess I cant blame him, surely he relized that the movie was going to end up being stupid while filming.

As for Batman Forever, that movie was pretty stupid too, but I'll admit I thought Val Kilmer was a pretty good Bruce Wayne/Batman.

My favorites are still the Burton movies.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

i remember when i watched batman and robin i was like "why arnold why?"

but anyway i hear TDKR is supposed to be really good. i think IGN already gave it like a 9/10.

I read the review too, looking forward to it. Going to see it in IMAX as well. Heard its about 3 hours too. Which is a good sign because alot of trilogy's always rush things in the 3rd film. Spiderman 3 was rushed, and so was star wars episode 3. With TDKR we can expect everything to flow good and leave us satisfied.

also on IGN, I found a cool movie poster there.
Spoiler:

THIS is what I would want a new batman movie series to be like somewhat. Gothic with some surrealism, and retro styled setting mixed with modern times much like the animated series. This image gave me so many ideas of what could be done with a new batman franchise. (despite this being an offical poster for TDKR)

Im gonna be there on thursday night rocking my Bane T-shirt (I think im the only person in the entire world who will be rooting for Bane :) )

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Going to the midnight showing. My fiancee's going to it dressed as Pamela Isley/Poison Ivy. :D

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Bane should be bigger and have more of the comic book style mask.

agreed on the mask part, but I'd rather bane be too small than too big. Remember arkham asylum?
Actually I think thats the way he looks now in the new comics, overly huge. Dont like it.

I think they did a good job on him here in TDKR appearance wise.

I like the mask, would prefer his classic mask, but I like what they created too. As for his size, I think Tom Hardy is of good physique for a Nolan Batman film

but hey, as long as this Bane isnt the retarded Batman and Robin "UUUGGGHHHH" Bane, I am happy

Rocking the Bane T too buddy. He's so badass in this.

Right now the reviews on rotten tomatoes has the movie at a 97% which is phenomenal. I suggest reading them with caution though. Some are unbelievably stupid at giving away spoilers. Some people just want to watch the world burn....

Nice to see other Bane fans here. But yeah just knowing it has a 97% is good enough, Im not gonna read them, in fact I try to stay away from written reviews sometimes just because Ive had several movies spoiled because they didnt leave a spoiler warning.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Why is it that no one ever remembers the batnipples in Batman Forever??

Anyway, Batman Forever pissed me off. I was wetting my pants over the Riddler and then I was okay with him when he first appeared and had his outfit with his hat and cane, and then when they did a close up and I saw his stupid pinkish hair and MAKE UP, I raged like I have never raged before.

It's one thing when they mess up a character that isn't on your fav list but when they mess up one of your favs, holy shit, man, HOLY SHIT.

So, yeah, Batman Returns is the best Batman movie ever and Michael Keaton is forever my #1 Batman.

I <3 Christian, though. While Bale does a perfect Bruce Wayne, his Batman voice is too forced. Keaton does both Bruce and Batman perfect.

Come at me.

I kinda let Batman Forever slide sometimes. Like I know it's dumb and all, but at least it does a good job at what it's trying to be. A less dark and serious batman. Where Batman and Robin just fails on all levels. I would have liked it if they had kept what they were originally going to do with it. Have Keaton star again and Burton direct like the previous 2 film, but the studio wanted to go in a new direction I guess.

And Jim Carrey as the riddler, I think he actually could have done a good job if they were going with the original dark stlye of the first 2. But him being popular around the time, they wanted him to act EXACTLY like he did in the Mask and Ace Ventura, so yeah, thats why he wasnt that great :/

Same goes for Tommy Lee Jones, he could have played a good Two-face but instead came across as a shittier version of the joker cause they were making the series less serious

Keaton is my favorite batman and Batman Return is my personal favorite movie too. People always forget about Batman Returns or say it sucks, but I think it did the best at creating what a batman universe is supposed to look like. 1989 movie as well. They have flaws, but I still enjoy them the most.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

The Dark Knight is overrated as hell, honestly

It's good but people treat as if it's like the Second Coming of cinematic storytelling or something

I liked Batman Begins more even with stupid Katie Holmes being in it

I also think that Nolan's other movies like The Prestige, Inception, and Insomnia are much better

Those are actually the same thoughts I have. I mean, shit, like I said, Riddler looked awesome when he first showed up with the hat and cane, besides the shitty hair and make up, but, if they look that away, Jim would have looked awesome as Riddler. I didn't really like the cheesy slapstick shit, though, but, yeah, Batman Forever was lacking seriousness with them two, which is sad, because they could have made those characters good. Jim can be a dark, messed up individual, and Tommy Lee Jones is an awesome actor, but, wow, they were really made out to be too silly and stupid.

Val Kilmer and George Clooney sucked as Batman. Val, not as much, but I still didn't think he really captured the character as well as Keaton. Clooney just plain sucked balls, there was nothing good about him at all.

Do people really forget Batman Returns?? Honestly, if you know anyone who does, punch them in the face, lol, because no one should ever forget Batman Returns. I like the first Batman, and I love Nolan's Batman films, but Batman Returns will always be the best Batman movie IMO. I friggin' love that movie, and this is coming from someone who hates the Penguin with a goddamn passion. Easily my most hated Batman villain, except for Meredith's Penguin, because he made the character likeable.

Batman and Robin was just a matter of making a shit storyline with an awful Batman, false info (Freyith's fav, BARBARA PENNYWORTH lolololol), nipples (why? just why?) and throwing in a bunch of characters without making good use of them. Batgirl was garbage, Robin was just as shit as he was in Batman Forever, Clooney sucked, Mr. Freeze was such a joke (an unfunny one)...I actually liked Uma as Poison Ivy but what an awful movie to have her in.

Batman and Robin doesn't exist to me. Batman Forever barely does.

Also, as I mentioned on facebook earlier today, lulz at Harvey Dent being a black dude in Batman. I watched the movie when I was 5 and I didn't know who Harvey was but when I got older and had read the comics, I laughed each time I watched Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Man I haven't seen the first two since I was a little kid until recently and it still holds up pretty well considering it was made so long ago. Michael Keaton is just the man in everything. I wish he were in more movies today. Although Nolan's films are my favorite, gotta give respect to Tim Burton's style. Had the dark, comic book vibe that no other comic book movie has. I wander what a Zack Snyder batman movie would look like..

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

Going to re watch Batman Begins and The Dark Knight today before I go in for the midnight showing, can't wait!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises Discussion

I can't wait to see the box office on this thing, it's opening weekend alone could possibly beat Superman Returns' total gross ($200M)
