Yeah I would say Raiden, Sub, and Scorpion are the ONLY recognizable characters among casuals. You could ditch Kang, Sonya, Kano, Cage, and as long as you have those three it feels like Mortal Kombat.

It doesn't frustrate me to see those characters, it frustrates me to see those characters front and center YET AGAIN. The story is amazing, but I'd love to see a story of that caliber centered around any other portion of the roster. That's why I liked Deception so much. Deception has a roster filled with really obscure returners and they get to have their chance in the spotlight. Suddenly Ermac, Kabal, and Jade are front and center. That's amazing!

As a story telling medium, fighting games have this beautiful opportunity to tell all of these different intersecting stories in the same place. NRS is admittedly the absolute finest at doing this in the genre so far, but they could still do better. It's a deep shame that so many fan favorites, not just my own, take a back seat for so, so long.

With a great story, with a great representation of my favorite character, I think that's my only problem here with an otherwise perfect game. 25 characters, but only 12 stories. As I write this I realize how high that expectation is, and I can see why some characters are relegated to a cameo. Certainly I would break my screen if I found out that Li Mei or Sareena or Frost were playable over Ermac. But I realize there are some number of people who want to see them.

I wouldn't mind Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana in the roster if they would have added Tanya, Rain and Fujin too.

All 6 or the latter 3. That's how it should have been.

But it isn't like that... We must deal with it, unfortunately.

Damn, too late, shouldn't of spent so much time looking for that winning pose of his. It is mighty amazing.
 
I'm glad that Kitana, Liu Kang, Kung Lao didn't get revived. Hopefully those three sit out the next MK game. They didn't serve a purpose in helping to stop Shinnok's plans. I don't care if they are popular. Cassie, Takeda, Jacqui, Kung Jin, along with the aid of Jax, Sonya and Johnny showed they can defend Earthrealm without Liu Kang holding their hand. Hopefully Dark Raiden is the big bad next game. I remember the NRS a team were planning on making Raiden the big bad.

not going to happen becase the next story might be kitana trying gain edenia back from outworld and trying to merge it with dark raiden and the new gen fighters not having to deal with this bullshit
 
Does Kitana care about Edenia? She's some sort of evil zombie co-ruler of hell now, I doubt she gives a fvck about it :laugh:

It's a strong possibility that she could try to invade Edenia or merge it with the Netherrealm, which is actually a pretty valid plot for the next game.
If that were to happen though, I could guarantee Tanya and Rain spots on the main roster.
Though nobody knows what will happen, it's just speculation.

They did. I believe they had no choice to change back, but by the end of the game, they both had spent 25 years doing nothing but evil deeds, so they decided to just rule the Netherrealm.
After 25 years, I'm sure you'd want to stay doing what you're used too also.

I mean, they had to right? Technically it wouldn't be their choice, since they are under someone else's control.
