Not necessarily, Boon said they were going to reveal the big bad at some point. I'm too lazy to provide a link, but it was during an E3 interview.

Also Himmerick hinted that in an early cut of a trailer (it might not even be the Story Trailer because he didn't specify which one), it would be extremely obvious who the big bad is. So they're not really holding off on revealing him/her.

I doubt the comic big bad is the game's big bad.

Himmerick said that before the Konnections trailer was released. But I doubt this should be called a trailer, so he was probably talking about the story trailer.

If he was referring to the story trailer, then I think I know who it is. I think the medallion was the clue and they were secretly saying that Onaga is the Big Bad and manipulating everyone. It makes sense with all of the Kamidogu stuff and why would NRS just flat out show the Big Bad walking around in the trailer. I think the medallion was a clever, subtle way of doing it.

Isn't it Shinnok's medallion? I think it's going to be Shinnok for this game so they could save Onaga for next game.
 
One Being's blood magick is on the game.

That's too big to be left inside the comics.

IMO the big bad scenario will be set by the comics (we shall have much more clarification tomorrow).

But I have to say. This is no Bruce Lee movie, but you should prepare yourselves for the Return of the Dragon :laugh:

I'm sure we'll still have more questions afterwards So once we've picked the print issue apart we can bpbombard him with more questions.
 
If Onaga is indeed the big bad, then kudos to them, I'd never see it coming. I can't even imagine how would Onaga work in X. But if it was Onaga, they wouldn't be able to keep it a secret for that much longer. The leaks - mostly fake - point to Liu Kang, whom everyone is expecting to be the boss anyway. We also have Shinnok, Mileena and Reiko for the contenders...

Yeah I don't get the assumptions about Mileena at all, she's in possession of the amulet, yeah, but I doubt a gullible idiot like her is going to be the big bad behind everything. There's something much more grand working bbehind the scenes here and I believe that is Damashi/Onaga.

How does the amulet that belongs to Shinnok imprisoning Shinnok make it "obvious" that it was Onaga? The amulet's a big deal because Shinnok's in it, not because of Onaga.

Christ I'm already butthurt and nothing has been confirmed yet! ;)

Although I am starting to get a Liu Kang as a vessel for Onaga kind of vibe lately.
 
I honestly hope it IS Onaga, simply because his story needs to be addressed and the way these comics are going with the Kamidaggers and their power coming from the One Being, it feels like things for Onaga are being set up.
