SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

I think it's because Mileena treats Goro with the respect he deserves while Kotal made him a mere henchman.

I don't think its so much respect so to speak. She was using her "charm" to win him over and the promise restoring the Shokan Honor. I don't think he really cares for her but maybe bc of all he's been through with Shao kahn he is siding with her.

I think Kotal would actually be more helpful in helping Goro than Mileena could. Just from Intro Dialogue!

Also, why are people talking about King Gorbak?

Because this is the preview for the print issue #6
"After last issue’s shocking conclusion, Sub-Zero reflects on the path that brought him face-to-face with Scorpion. Meanwhile, Reptile, Kotal Kahn and D’Vorah must stand their ground against the onslaught of King Gorbak and his Shokan army!"

Edit: ninja'd

Who say's Kotal even wants to help Goro?

He's probably still salty over Goro and Shao Kahn massacring a bunch of his people.
Kotal more then likely treats Goro like crap.

Also, does anybody else hope Reptile and D'vorah have some sort of mini rivalry of something?
I mean, Reptile has an entire variation based on eating bugs...

Sound yummy! lol

I think Goro will get killed. And Reiko will take the throne some way.

Something nobody thought before, what if Kotal is the guy Shao Kahn stated to be his succesor in case he died? That would make Mileena a real usurper, so Ermac (if Shao's soul has control over him) would side Kotal.

Unlikely though.

Very Very Interesting Idea!

WOW i already forgot that Goro was apart of Shao Kahns conquest over Kotals ppl. But in the recent comic Goro was the Traitor they must've had some type of mutual respect for one another. Also Kotal served Shao Kahn...

Again, the trailer says "Goro Lives". Why would they lie?
That has absolutely nothing to do with the comic and everything to do with an iconic MK1 phrase.

Comic Story I think Goro is going to Best Kotal Kahn, which may explain his "Rise & Fall" but in the game, i think maybe quite possibly Goro might fall...Permanently
Kotal's "rise and fall" was about the game story, not the comics. We didn't see Kotal's rise in the comics, so I doubt we'll see the fall. The comics are not going to go over things the game does.

"Goro is no mans Ratcatcher"- Yet he is siding with Mileena and taking orders!?!?!

You would think he would side with Kotal, bc Kotal seems to have a moral code/honor which we know Goro does too. So thats definitely interesting.

Goro can take an order, you just have to make sure to give him orders that he likes. Kotal asked him to spend weeks or months tracking Mileena in the desert. He treated Goro like Reptile or Kotal K'Etz. Big mistake.

Who thinks Goro is gonna die?

I mean, it's certain that he and Kotal will battle sometime in the next two chapters, since the issue cover is Goro vs. Kotal.

Kotal is definitely surviving either way, and if he wins he's not gonna let Goro live after what Goro has done.

So I see either two scenarios playing out: 1) Goro gets his ass beat, but escapes/is rescued, 2) Goro is killed.

I think it's the latter since Gorbak is attacking Kotal in the coming issues and it could be because Kotal killed his son. Plus, Goro is only DLC.

I don't think Goro dies hence the pre-order says he lives. But, I do however think he does get beaten close to the point of death.

Huh?
Wasn't comic #6 and #7 all about Kotal's origins and how he started becoming Emperor of Outworld, and got to the position that he was at???
Mileena is the other rogue "leader" of Outworld, and people seem to be split between 2 factions in the comics: Kotal's group and Mileena's group.

We didn't see Kotal's rise at all. We were just told it happened.
He had one speech bubble saying he took Mileena down in a coup after she had ruled for 5 years. As far as what we actually see, we cut straight from him after the mayan massacre ages ago to him being in the throne with Mileena driven underground.

No, because we never saw how Kotal actually got to the position he was at. We saw his early history, sure... but we never saw how he actually took the throne from Mileena and became emperor. The game is clearly going to be handling that.

We may see that in Chapter #8, though......

"In an act of desperation, Kotal Kahn resorts to dangerous blood magic to take down the insurgents. But will it be enough to finish Outworld's champion?"

What about that description suggests that at all? It's just a continuation of the story from this chapter. Kotal's still already emperor.

He could stop or bypass Goro and still kill Mileena as vengeance for his father's death.
Thereby, maning him the next ruler of Outworld.
I'm just saying that his "rise to power" isn't completely written out of the comics, just yet.

His rise to power is written out of the comics, because he's already in power by the time we see him. He has control of the entire capital, and Mileena and Reiko are reduced to hiding like rats to stay alive. He's already the ruler of Outworld.

It sounds like we're not all on the same page here.

Yes -- you're right that they didn't really cover in detail Kotal's rise to the status of emperor. That's probably something that'll happen in-game.
No -- His rise has already taken place (he's emperor right now) so it won't be covered in the comics. If anything, it seems like he's going to be taken down.
