Here we go with this ignorant shit again. stereotypical Ebonics i assume because she's black. Her name is already spelled out Jacqui, not Ja-Kwee" or "Ja-Kwhy. I REALLY DONT SEE the deal with her name. it's NO different than NRS wanting to spell d'vorah instead of DEBORAH (Means "bee" in Hebrew). But since Jacqui is black there's some problem with them getting creative with her name.
Also Jacky with a y is the male version of that name, Jackie with ie is the female version.

God no, I never took a side on the new characters/old characters debate. (I'm more inclined on the old chars side though)

However my problem is not with her being new, it is with her being lame, she's the daughter of Jax, lamest character next to Kano.

We've already been through this. Jacqui is another way to spell the name Jackie. I'm hoping she doesn't make it through the comics either. Just nothing interesting about her. This issue was a good one though. In my opinion it needed to be after the last issue being nothing but a set up. Am I the only one here who can't stand Sonya and just how one dimensional she is with just being a hard headed soldier? And I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually curious to see how Johnny Cage is now and how he'll react to a kidnapped daughter.
 
Jacqui is French if anything. Pronounced "Shar-kee". Derives from the name "Jacqueline", pronounced "Shar-kee-leen", which is also French. Comes from way back when New Orleans was a French colony, and many black people started taking on French names. It's not "Ebonics" or whatever you call it.

However, it is most likely Americanized and pronounced "Jacky", as most of you suspect.

Actually the french pronunciation for "Jacqui" it's (phonetically speaking) exactly the same as the english for "Jackie". The difference is on the stress, in english the stressed syllable is the first, in french it is the last one.
 
I hope Jacqui makes it in. She seems interesting to me. A female Jax sounds pretty dope. There aren't many female characters in fighting games that represent raw strength.

She is black. Nobody is complaining that Kotal is an "streotypical aztec warrior with an stereotypical fictional try of aztec name".

It's probably short for Jacqueline anyways... I guess it really is kinda like Jacqueline Frazier XD

Wow, really? To be on the side of the older characters, you sure do dislike some staples in the series! I'm not sure why everyone thinks Jax is boring, though. I always dug the whole "half man half machine" gimmick he had with the robotic arms coming into play in MK3. He might not have been the most exciting story-wise but I wouldn't call him boring. What's your beef with Kano, by the way?

And it wouldn't be stereotypical or racist, it would be statiscally accurate.

How did you figure I believe that was her full name? I was going off of what you said with the name being unisex. Jackie Robinson is a legendary baseball player.

first of all im on the fence about kotal I really dont know what are his true intentions, either he genuinely needs the sf for back up or he devised that plan and has something else in the works. either way it goes its very interesting.

okay at first I was against it but after seeing frost in the comic it just caught my attention, now I dont think its farfetched for her to make the roster, I like her.

and what are u saying about how u dont like that name Erron Black? What!? that's that tortellini chicken with pesto!I wish I would of came up with that name, I would use that sh!t as my alias. that name fits him like a glove. even though it doesn't sound like a cowboy name. what would u prefer Clyde Smith? lol

Erron Black is an interesting kharacter, NRS came out of left field with this one but I like it, give him a machete, a sawed off, a gatlin gun for his fatality and a cigar for a taunt and he's golden.

He's like, you know... I'm a human who has a knife and turns randomly into a giant flying ball. It's not the kind of things I call interesting or well thought.

Just a personal opinion, nothing else.

I want old chars and new chars, I want smoke, rain and kenshi back and I want to know more about Erron and have some new great chars like D'Vorah and Kotal. I'm like 60/40 (old/new).
