It does sometimes feel weird when you're invited somewhere because you have nowhere else to be, but things do get better. If I may put on my old man hat for a moment, time will come soon enough when you'll be married and going to your in-laws for the holidays and then you might wish you were alone for the day! (I kid, don't beat me up Nana!)
I would seriously invite any of yinz guys over to play retro games all day if you lived nearby, though. I'm sure there'll be people around here on the boards if you want to stop in and say hi. I'll probably be around for at least the early morning-late afternoon portions.

Um it's not about feeling left out. I don't know most of my friends family all that well outside meetings at weddings ect. And the 4 friends I do know their families well live a bit out of town.
I'm not going to intrude on my friends family time. I can soak it up for a couple of days and just do a ton of nothing in my place.
This is my decision. I have been asked to come over already a couple of times. But I know my friends not their family.

Lol it's the same either way. Time sharing, I don't give two shits which holiday I spend. It's an excuse for me to see my family and doubles up that I can chill with them while everyone else is chilling with theirs

I spent most of my birthday yesterday alone :/ Well, up until 5pm cuz the man had to work and most of my family is back home.
My mom wants to move back here and is looking for a unit in my apartment for March so that will be awesome, assuming it still happens =)
This year, we combined Christmas and my birthday together (my friends and I) on the 16th at Boston Pizza because my friend was going home to Newfoundland for the holidays so that was rad but, yeah, otherwise, everyone was with their families on NYE.
