Anyone ever had to do it?

Looks like it's just me, myself, and I this Christmas

I'm not able to go back home, so i gotta do what i gotta do...

I was invited to spend Christmas with someone, but i declined (I did that once, it was kinda awkward)

I'm solo this christmas as well.

I would also refuse any invites. It feels like i'm intruding on their family time. And it also looks like it's a pity party for me. I don't like that.

I paid for a visit to my parents for thanksgiving, don't want to afford 2 plane tickets back to back.

Yea this is exactly me.

I went up for thanksgiving but can't afford to miss more time off of work.

eh no biggie. As long as you go friends to spend it with thats all that matters. girlfriends come and go, friends stick for life. thats my justification. I always for some reason have a significant other when its not the holidays lol
 
um... aren't your "friends" usually doing their own thing with their family?

That's why it's so "lonely"

is because I will not have any friends to call and trust me I got ALOT. Because they are all busy with family.

ah ok. i try to friends who dont celebrate christmas, or ones who go out only one of the nights (stay in xmas eve with fam, go out xmas night, or vice versa), or what seems the case is most people i know by me spend the day and evening with family but still go out later (unless they pass out from food coma or get too drunk lol). anyways man, hope u figure something out, if not its not the end of the world, just a day of stigma that every1 has to be together and warm and fuzzy. If you can do tht other days, who cares? Kinda like valentined day..

no offense but it sounds like you and some other guys here have some REAL crappy friends. none of my friends who come over feel lonely or left out. i feel lucky to go to their houses as well but im 34 and have/had long term relationships, and friendships. im happy to have what i have now, and appreciate it. i never feel uncomfortable at friends houses for the holidays because their families just love me to death. friends ARE family. you need to perk up, theres good people out there and your friends dont sound too great.
 
Good question. Even though I'm with my family durng the holidays, I have no friends to spend it with nor do I have any guy to spend it with. So... BS.
