SoulCalibur V Confirmed

CGI Renders of the Newly revealed characters

putting my hatred of this game's character design aside for just a few moments to admire how badass Yoshimitsu looks. Split mask with skull in center is a great idea. Him and Mitsurugi are the only ones I seem to like this time around

lol I know. When I saw his new render I came

you think they'll let you have custom images for his flag in this game?

like not just your drawings, bur pics you can upload from your console to use on the flag

Sorry for double post. For about Astaroth:
He's the staple, series-wise, cuz he's one of my mains along with Siegfried, Taki and Setsuka. But it's confirmed story-wise, that this Astaroth is brand new. Like the younger "brother" of the original from the first 4 SC games. So he's half veteran, half new. I wonder what new movesets that he will have that will be a huge difference from his older "brother".

And about Nightmare:
I like how his weapon is a blend of SC2 and SC3. Although I don't like the face part of his helmet.

To those who wondering about my Siegfried gameplay:
Don't worry. I utilize pretty much all of his movesets, even his 4 stances.

And I hope the customization has like both SC3 and SC4 combined to make a superior CAS mode.

I wonder how Aeon/Lizardman will fight this time around since he no longer has a shield and has instead been replaced by a second axe. I can see alot of his moves still being applicable. From some screens looks as if can spit fire??

I can kinda dig the 'monkey boy' for whatever reason...In the design I see some reference to Kilik as they wrapped him in tiger fur. I remember Kilik's alt. was wrapped in tiger fur in 4. I dont like the the younger characters but as long as they are connected it alllows the story to continue, just at a new angle.

I think out of the new characters introduced in V, only Patroklos, Pyrhha, Viola, Z.W.E.I. and Leixia will have more connection to the storyline than anyone else.

As for Aeon/Lizardman, I bet only some slight changes to the moveset will defeinitely occur to utilize his second axe, since he has now abandoned all humanity and his past.

My thoughts:

New characters-
Like:
Patroklos- Sword & shield male character, perfect and very likely to be my main
Pyrrha- Could've made her less cutesy (but hey SC is more anime/japanese friendly) but overall she's probably going to be pretty good
Z.W.E.I- Finally a mature character design though he vaguely resembles a certain somebody from Twilight...only more badass
Viola- Love her character design, finally can implement a custom mage with her fighting style, what Amy should have been

Iffy:
Xiba- Interesting but did they really have to dump Kilik for another child character. An older Kilik would look far better

Not Impressed:
Leixia- Don't look schoolgirl/teenage characters, to me she's probably going to be a more annoying, less likable version of Xianghua
Natsu- Hate her character design. She's supposed to be Japanese...why is she blonde? And another teenager? Ugh...

Returning Characters:
They all look really good and glad that they decided to scrap many of the insignificant characters (Rock, Seong Mi-Na, Yun-seung, Talim) in favor of reviving the storyline with some new faces. Also nice to know that older female characters such as Ivy and Hilde haven't been scrapped due to age (like so many developers do).

Still hoping for: Zasalamel & Setsuka (or at least counterparts...non-teenage counterparts...)

^^^ actualy i wouldnt mind if rock returns, i would rather have two heavy hitters than one, i like watching astoroth vs rock. yun-seung is another character i like that is unique and i think he will fit great with this roster. im planing on making a thai like character that uses Talim's weapon so if they decide to not bring her back i atleast hope that her weapon and fighting style is still there for the character creation.

You have a point. However Rock is one of the least played (and liked) characters (Rock is basically the poor man's Astaroth unfortunately). However I do agree SC could use another heavy brawler/grappler type...

I wouldn't mind seeing any of their styles go for character creation though, maybe even the parts to 'make' them. Plus the full roster hasn't been revealed. We have a total of 21 confirmed characters (not counting Ezio) so far, and they announced there will be (at least) 30, so those 9 spaces just may have said characters.

As long as they put Zasalamel in I'm all good ^_^.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy many of the characters' different styles but since I follow the story, many of the characters had dragged out stories (Yun-Seong went missing AGAIN...Seong Mi-Na went looking for Yun-Seong AGAIN...Rock is basically the one no one really knows (or cares) about...Talim's trying to calm the winds or chasing after Yun-Seong...Setsuka's still looking for her revenge...).

It's good they decided to implement new faces to keep the story fresh. Of course the focus is gameplay, not so much the storyline, but still I feel a lot of these additions were necessary. Perhaps Soul Calibur 6 will mature some of these new young characters (Xiba, Leixia, Natsu, etc..., they will become the new Kilik, Xianghua, Taki, etc...).

I hope in the next Soul Calibur game, Pyrrha finally toughens up for the upcoming battles ahead. I know that she's timid, shy and inexperienced, but once in the fight, those feelings must be thrown aside and use your instinct and intuition during the life-stakes battle.

this is some gameplay from Viola, theres only one other gameplay video from her but its just one of the developers showing off her playstyle but this is the first actual competative gameplay footage, shes so beast i will include her in my team.i like this track too i think is Ezio's theme it goes great with this game.

Viola gameplay looks interesting, how she can set her orb high and low.

On hand I am excited for this game, on the other hand it just seems like more of the same. That can be good or bad for some of you.
