Shujinko himself may seem like a bland character, but his storyline was definately one of the best. The young warrior who sought out to find the Kamidogu to save the realms was probabley one of the best backstories of them all. He meets with so many warriors in different worlds, and learns from all of them to advance his fighting experience. This also proved to be very ironic because Onaga (disguised as Shujinko's guide Damashi) bestowed upon Shujinko to help him obtain the kamidogu, but in the end Shujinko used that very gift, and the ability to negotiate with other warriors to unite them, to overthrow his deciever, which I thought was a very good irony.
As for his attire, very.... bland. I am not really impressed or inspired by the beige robe he has. What I really wish the MK team did was to make his previous ages his alternate costumes (at least one of them). That would've given him a more versatile look. His figthing abilities were sort of alright, but I was really let down with his unlockable special abilities. He borrows the same moves AND voices from other character (major Chameleon ripoff). Sure, I liked the idea of Shujinko learning and utilizing other kombatants fighting methods and styles, but I really think the MK team could've done better with this character.
Shujinko has a good backstory, but as a kombatant he should really be a little less predictable.
