Shin Megami Tensei

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Well when my guy evolved, he went past my main character's level.
So, if anything, it can give you access to demons that you normally wouldn't be able to ally yourself with at a low level

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I'm honestly not too sure if there is any demons exclusive to evolving.

Where are you at in the story BBBLP?

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Just talked to Miruka? Mihaka?

The girl who

Spoiler:
Says she's interested in me, and tells me where I might find the Black Samurai

Didn't get too far from my last update. Grinded for quite some time and messed around with a lot of fusions. Went from 24 to 29.
Principality says he's going to evolve soon, so that's always awesome.

The girl in the school uniform? That's Hikaru lol.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Yeah lol, her.

Sucks that I'm having to start cycling my favorite demons out. They just take way too long to level up. Mad underleveled.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Yeah all the SMT games try not to let you get too attached to demons.

I mean keep a few for back up but for the most part you can't keep the same party through out the whole game. You're going to need to do some fusing.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

That is horseshit.
I love my bare assed bird woman and no game dev is going to seperate me from her

Alright. So I was just fighting some low level, random demons. One of them used a common Force move. Zanma I think it was.

Blew away one of my strongest demons and now his status says "lost"

Are you telling me there are enemies that can perma kill my demons? Or can I find him somewhere? Do I have to negotiate with him?

When the demons are "lost" just start looking for random battles and your demon will show up and be like "Oh hey! I've been looking for you!" and he'll rejoin your party.

Yeah I was worried about losing my demons too when they were lost. I think SMTIV is the first game where they added the lost feature.

I haven't played SMTIV in a few days. I'm thinking about buying P2: Innocent Sin and playing through both Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment since those are the only Persona games that I have yet to beat. I even beat P1P, disregard that I had to actually FORCE myself to beat that damn game.

One of the quests requires me to hunt down the Insane Horde, but I cannot for the life me of find them. They are supposed be somewhere in Shinjuku area, but I feel there is some place I'm overlooking.

I finally was able to find them, they don't seem to spawn in the South entrance, so I had to revisit a couple areas that I neglected. It gets easier after finding the first, since they are marked on the map, although they are likely to change location if you get into fights. I had to retry several times because I got attacked by surprise or the enemy got their critical hits in. When fought the boss the first time, he managed to wipe out my party with Mudo skills even though I happened to bring along demons with dark resistance. The second time, I used Baldur who inherited Tetraja, so I only had to worry about physical attacks.

I hate Mudo and Hama skills with a damn passion. I don't even use them either. They don't work half the damn time and are a waste of SP.

The effectiveness of Hama/Mudo skills depend on the game. In P3 and Nocturne, they miss quite often, even against enemies that are supposed to be weak against them. In P4, Soul Hackers, and SMTIV, they seem to reliably hit against enemies that are weak against them. However, I do agree they are SP hogs, although not as much in Soul Hackers.

Are there any tips for recruiting demons?
I swear to god every answer seems like the wrong answer

Unfortunately, dialogue options with demons is a crapshoot. There is no rhyme or reason to them, you can only guess which answer they will like. Some demons are scumbags who won't join you even if you give in to all their demands. I heard that demons of the same type tend to favor certain answers, but I haven't seen consistent results in practice.

Having a higher luck stat seems to increase the chances of the answer working in your favor, especially if you cheat them. Also, I would never give away rare stuff like stat-increasing incenses. I stockpiled life stones, which are commonly dropped by demons, and use them as cheap gifts for bribing demons. Sometimes, it's good to refuse a demand, otherwise they will see you as a pushover and walk away with your gifts. However, don't refuse everything or else they will cut off communication altogether.
