Shin Megami Tensei

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I like the name Flynn. Doesn't bother me. I actually prefer a default name. I hate putting my real name for characters. With Nocturne, I used the manga name, Naoki, P3 I used Minato and with P4 I used Yu.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I named him Exile, because that was the name of my first character in Soul Calibur 3.
It's a terrible name for him, because he looks more like a Shannon or Pierre

Who is that guy in your avatar? Is that Flynn? How do I make him look like that? Because his hair is what pisses me off the most

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

In my avatar? My avatar is Demi-Fiend from SMTIII: Nocturne.

I also don't mind Flynns hair lol. There's DLC you can get that changes his hair to where it's just long hair. Not sure if it's still free though.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I downloaded all of the the intially free DLC. The white armor set was worth it. I have magical glasses equipped since it works with my magic-oriented build. Has anyone tried the other DLCs yet?

I have all of them that have been released thus far thanks to the $30 eshop code for having both SMTIV and Fire Emblem: Awakening.

I'm down to $6.14 I think lol. Shit is ridiculous.

But honestly, I haven't played any of them yet lol. I plan on doing them on my NG+. I have to do NG+ anyways so I can record the songs I missed.

I got the $30 too, but I'm going to save it for future use.

Fusion charts that came with manuals/guides made predictions based on race/clan. However, it has little meaning to me when it doesn't predict specific demons/personas. Thankfully, there are some resources that provide recipes for specific demons/personas.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I like the surprise of fusions. Recruiting every new monster to see what it can make.
If I knew which monsters made which I'd pass up on a lot of them. And that wouldn't be fun.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Getting to choose the skills the new demon gets to carry over is awesome. I absolute love it because it's such a time saver. You have no idea how long it takes trying to fuse a demon with the EXACT skills you want. I was trying to fuse Messiah on P3 and I wanted him to have certain skills and he'd always get 1 or 2 wrong so I'd have to back out of the fusion and try again.

Also, I'm uploading the rips I have of the SMTIV soundtrack to my mediafire. Not sure if anyone is interested or not. It's not the full OST. I'm missing a few songs from the beginning of the game, but I'll get those when I get on my NG+ which will be later tonight or tomorrow.

I don't think I can get in trouble by posting the mediafire link because I'm the one ripping them and it's straight out of the game itself and not a rip from an actual CD since there is no word on an OST.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I usually just wing it on fusions unless I'm looking for a specific demon.

It's not like I consult a list every time. However, when I need a specific demon with a specific set of skills, fusion recipes help save time. This is true in the case of Soul Hackers, P3, and P4 where you are required to have specific demons for your reward.

Yeah, in the past games, you have to reroll often to get the inherited skills you want. It doesn't help that certain demons/personas tend to favor inheriting certain skills over others. This can especially be harsh in Nocturne, a game that punishes players with an bad setup.

Oh, my bad. I didn't mean it like it was a bad thing lol. I've actually used a list for P4 a few times actually. My very first playthrough of P4 back in fall of 2011, I couldn't beat Kanji's shadow and I remember seeing online that people said to fuse Rakshasa so I had to look for a recipe for him. I ended up kicking Kanji's shadows ass too.

I'm really bummed how Daisoujou isn't in SMTIV. He was OP in Nocturne, but still. Just let him be a really high level demon and it should be fine.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I was honestly trying to avoid asking for help, but god damnit it's been 2 days and I'm STILL in Tokyo.
I have no idea what to do.

My missions are to find the Military Base and Capture the Black Samurai, but I've no idea where to go to do these.
I killed the demon that was guarding the Ueno Terminal, but now what?

Did you talk to the people add the Uneo Hunter's association yet? Also, somewhere in the Uneo region, there is group that needs your help. Help them out, and you be granted access to a new region. Head south to Kasumigaseki and you should find the base. I'm deliberately being vague to avoid spoilers, but if you need specifics feel free to ask.

Yeah I told him a little bit ago. I completely forgot about that part to be honest lol.

So I just beat the neutral ending.

It's definitely the canon ending. No doubt about it. It's a pretty good ending too.

Serious spoiler below
Spoiler:
Flynn is the new Megami Tensei

Also!

Did anyone know about this? It's Persona 3/ 4's new album and it's a dance club arrangement. I really want it. I can't find shit though for downloads lol. All I've been able to hear is the samples. It came out the other day and I had no idea about its existence until early yesterday morning.

The Pursing My True Self, Nevermore, Burn My Dread, Your Affection and Kimi no Kioku all sound awesome as hell. It's too bad that the Battle For Everyone's Souls remix sounds like the worst one. That's my favorite song in the whole SMT series.

Reaching Out To The Truth sounds really awesome beacause of the voice manipulation going on. Sounds really crazy.

Just saved my ass! With the help of Johnathan.

I went a few hours without saving (Like a dumbass) and also had a debt to Charon. Demon gets the jump on me while I'm walking. I get hit by a couple of demons who Ice Breath 4x my party and proceed to kill everyone but her. I hit them both with one fire attack, Johnathan finishes them off with a Force attack, reinforcements come.

I think that there's no way I'm surviving. I use another All Enemy hitting fire attack to hit all 3 of them and think that I'm finished. Johnathan then uses a Defense Up on me which helps me survive the first hit, then the second guy misses so I save some health there. Once again, fire attack to get em outta there.

ANOTHER wave of reinforcements come. No way lightning is striking twice. I use another fire attack, and by the messiah's grace, Johnathan gets a critical hit on his Force move.

RAN my ass to a Terminal to go heal at the Barracks

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

It's really nice that SMTIV lets you save anywhere. All of the previous games only allow saves at checkpoints. I don't like paying for Charon's services, so I save often. I also have a second save in case I get stuck in a certain area.

I really hate demon domains, especially when the map is disabled. My level was 25 and the demons encountered ranged from 25-29. However, when I entered the door of the demon controlling the domain, it was level 44! WTF? Needless to say, my party got creamed.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I really do love the save anywhere function. It saves so much damn time.

I wonder how many more DLC demons their going to pump out. They just released another one the other day.

Sanat Kumara, in “The Eternal Youth”.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Level 24 right now. Archangel evolved (I didn't know demons could do that, so sweet) and turned into level 26 Principality. Sooooooooo OP.

He's got more MP than anyone on my team and I just spam HeatWave, killing everything and anything lol.

Also found an awesome demon domain in Tokyo where all the monsters are like level 26-30, but all die on the first round of attacks if I get the preemptive strike. GRIND TIME!!!

Yeah some demons evolve. Principality evolves into Power and then Power evolves into Virtue which evolves to Dominion and then Throne and a shit ton more.

Some demon domains are awesome for grinding.

So I finished the first Clipped Wings DLC and

spoiler for boss character
Spoiler:
You fight Uriel and Raphael. Uriel was easy as shit but Raphael was a dickhead because he when he was near death he used Diarama not once, not twice, but 3 damn times when he was near death and his Diarama refilled 7000+ HP. It was some bullshit, but I finally got him on the forth try lol.

I'll give Clipped Wings 2 a try here in a bit.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I haven't got any of my demons to evolve. Once they learn their final skills, I usually fuse them for a higher level demon. Are there any special benefits to evolution, such as exclusive demons?
