Shin Megami Tensei

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Cons of both games:

**** Hama and Mudo

**** having no way to buy items to give you SP, except Soda cans

I guess the reason behind it is to limit the your dungeon runs, since SP is one of the most important resources. In P4, you can ask the fox to recover your SP, although the service is quite expensive.

Yeah, I guess it could be seen that way. I just stock up on TaP Soda, and The Natural soda.

Still ridiculous though. I hate feeling forced to leave, especially when a checkpoint is near.

I never used the fox before. Once I was out of SP, I left.

Just don't use SP as often.

I waited until I got higher on the fox S-link before I used its services. I think it's worth using so I won't have to waste another day in a dungeon. I spend no more than 2 days in a dungeon to rescue a victim and 1 day to for the optional boss.

Personally, I try to minimize fights until I get to the floor where I have to fight a boss or sub-boss. Unfortunately, with the hallways being insanely narrow, it's not always possible to run away, especially from large shadows. Physical attacks save SP, but you run the risk of dragging a fight longer and sustaining greater injuries in the process, which means putting a strain on consumables or SP from healing skills.

I forgot how much harder P4 Vanilla is compared to Golden. Golden is a fvcking piece of cake. It's not even a challenge. Not even on Very Hard.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I think wasted too much time studying, since there are many opportunities to raise Knowledge during class. I should focused more on Understanding instead.

I got Rangda to learn Repel Physical, while redundant for that persona, I want to spread useful abilities like the plague. Spell Master (which got from creating Garuda on Oct 25 is awesome as well.

When it's raining, go to Aiya's and eat the Mega Beef Bowl. You might not finish it but it raises a shit ton of stats all at the same time and for a decent amount of points too. Though I don't know if it's in vanilla.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Got Chie's S. Link to rank 10. We're going out now, so her Persona evolved.

Got Rise on my team, along with Teddie now. Teddie's shadow wasn't hard, and Rise's wasn't either. Teddie's took a good while to defeat though. I also learned to guard against his Nihil Hand, the hard way.

I'm on my way to the dungeon that has a video game screen in the beginning, to find that kid.

Everyone's persona evolves to their ultimate when they reach max rank.

Mitsuo's dungeon is probably my least favorite along with Yukiko's dungeon.

Aiya is a such a funny name for a restaurant. Yeah, it's also available in Vanilla. All of my stats are pretty high with Knowledge, Expression, and Courage maxed out. Diligence and Understanding, are at the 4th tier, but I'm may have to wait for my next play through for the tutoring job.

I was under-leveled when I fought Teddie, so I was straining for supplies and SP towards the end.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I feared I was under-leveled, but it seems I was right on the recommended level. I had to use Yukiko's media many times, but we pulled though.

Kanji and Chie just did the same things over and over, lol it was pretty monotmous

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Wut? patience? Battles go FASTER with it. Well. For me at least because I know what I'm actually doing.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

Nope.

Only slow battle for me was with Shadow Teddie, and there was nothing I could have done with Kanji or Chie to make it faster.

Kanji actually was smart, because he kept using the standard attack, because his Zionga does around the same damage to Shadow Teddie, so there was no point.

Chie kept using Assault Dive, which was fine.

I won anyway.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

You'll want to go into direct command near the end of the game.

Enemy defense weaken + party attack raise + Chie's power charge then do Chie's God Hand does 1000+ damage, but she'll never do it on free command. You need to set them on direct command for her to do it, but she wont get God Hand and Power Charge until near the end.

But That's really the only thing she's good for. Kanji's Primal Force does way better than God Hand.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Series

I use direct control over all my party members. I like making sure my party members are targeting the right enemies at the right time. Naoto's skills eat up a ton SP, yet she doesn't have the SP pool of Yukiko or Teddie. Letting her throw her spells left and right would make her a sitting duck when I need them the most.
