Thanks FJ for reminding us of this now that E3 is over.

With a vote of 9-19, Dairou gets a NO!

Up next...

DARRIUS

Darrius gets a no for me, I want to keep the Chaos vs. Order thing strictly between Havik and Hotaru. Including Darrius is unnecessary when we already have a lot more other story to focus on/worry about.

No dice.

All these characters are terrible so far, except for Baraka. Baraka can stay even though he has virtually no story and is the most useless of the UMK3 gang. None of the other characters so far have any realistic chance of getting in because they are all horrible characters from sub-par Mortal Kombat games that nearly killed the franchise.

I get the feeling that the story of this game will be a kind of war of all the different realms, but including the likes of Darrius is a waste when the creative team can just create someone new and better.

No for Darrius.

Even though I don't want him for MKX, I feel he could have a interesting backstory tied in which starts off with Johnny Cage's MK9 arcade ending. During Cage's traning at Seido, his interaction with some locals cause them to question Seido's authoritative rule. A small time rebellion sparks and the locals take Cage as their icon starting to sport his signature sunglasses as a symbol of their rebellion. Darrius could have been the one who could have helmed this when Cage left for earthrealm. That's all I can think off the top of my mind for him, but if he is returning, he needs a major overhaul in looks and moves.

First off: Welcome TRMK community.

Secondly, drat. Voting for Dairou has ended, not that I would have made a difference, but I did want to post the reasons as to why I'd favor his induction in future MK games.
To me, he exemplifies the whole "chaos/order" and the trials that raise up from this duality much more than Hotaru and Havik, because unlike these guys he doesn't share the same zeal as these guys. He was groomed to enforce Order and defend Chaos but his own have turned on him after one mistake due to his own grief, disregarding all of his probable good deeds.
The experience would have probably left him bitter and apathetic, best analogy I can come up with to describe Dairou would be the anti-scorpion, whereas one relentlessly tracks thoses responsible for the death of his kin, I can see the other living the rest of his life living in exile in Outworld in some inn of ill repute living off as much of bounty hunting as petty crime. I actually came up with more stuff to add to Dairou's story and moveset but I realize that it's not the place, maybe I'll post something in the fan fiction sub-board (is that how it's called).

So anyway, who we talking 'bout again? Ah right, Darrius... Well, he's not the most original character under the sun, but one could raise the argument about Noob Saibot being just a palette swap in his first appearance. I really like the idea of Cage's coming to Seido rising questions about Orderrealm's less than free living conditions and adopting his sunglasses as a symbol of revolt. It would also be nice seeing Cage returning to Seido and react to somebody like Darrius (who's not a nice guy by any stretch) using his image to incite violent revolts.
But I'll have to say no about him returning in MKX, unless the whole of Seido has part in the plot.

Well I am going to say YES!

Sure, he was not an impressive character, but I liked him, plus he had pretty cool fatalities and weapons. Story-wise, since I am a huge fan of Hotaru, I enjoyed his rivalry with the resistance.

A big YES for Dairou, and a big fat NO to Darrius! I hated his costume! I actually preferred his secondary costume with his afro-hair over his boring primary one... Deception new characters are really bad.

No fudging way.

Even though when I think of Darrius I think back to how much I loved Deception but this character has no potential else where.
