If any of this holds water people may turn this into something major, but a number of this stuff could be good guesses. We know some of these characters are going to be added and we know some of the things involved can go only one are two ways. So someone posting guesses may eventually get something right.

Boot 3 screams 'shaolin', which rules out Takeda. I think it's Fujin, Liu Kang or Kung Jin.

The only addition I liked there are Cyrax and perhaps Baraka or Sektor, the rest can burn in the netherrealm.

I don't think it's Takeda.
I also don't think it's Kung Lao, either, because Boon would have said something about it like he did with Kitana and Quan Chi, and it seems odd that he didn't.
I think that boot #3 = Liu, Kung Jin or another Shaolin warrior.

More like an announcement of when the stream will be taking place. Which is frustrating, I'd rather they not say anything until they know for sure when they're going to do it.

Yeah they are announcing an announcement, that's the fashion these days. Movies also have teasers for trailers now.
When the stream actually comes I expect Kitana and Reptile gameplay, and the NRS dudes will probably drop a bit of info on stuff like the clan system or something secondary like that.
What I'd freaking love is a full character reveal trailer with variations and commentary like they did for Kano. That stuff is the best, better than streams for me.

yeah I was thinking aBout Fujin but I noticed his shoes are different in the comics. maybe is ashrah.
I say its too obvious to be Liu, so im going with Kung jin a descendant of Lao.
