I would rather have Reiko and Mileena as playable characters than some spawn coming from them.

I wonder how many people will be saying the same thing if we get more descendants in MKX, and if some of their parents or klassic MK relatives don't make it in.

Well, it's tricky, right? Take Cassie, for example. From what we've seen, her gameplay is very unique from Sonya's or Johnny's, so it's not like she makes them redundant as characters. All three of them could be in the game and be three unique characters with different playstyles from one another.
But is it necessary? Is it necessary to have all three of them? Same with other characters and their spawn.

No, it's not necessary (you're right), but if they play differently enough from their classic relatives, I don't mind.

I agree with you man. I would definitely want to see Reiko and Mileena, but not eager to see their child in MKX.

I don't want every new character to be sons/daughters/cousins of the other characters. It feels lazy then just making new original characters. I do have a feeling that most of the new characters are children or family members of other characters. I wanted to see new characters since MK9. I want to see more original characters and I do hope that Salazar is a real playable character in the game. Salazar sounds really cool so far.

Exactly. It was nice they did it probably to get rid of Sonya and Johnny (i don't know if that's the intention introducing Cassie), but to do it with more than those characters is completely uninspired!

I'll reserve judgement until it comes to light. I don't think they'll end up having one, though. I think it'll be something like a mutual "I use you, you use me" type of alliance. Like, how would those two even come into a relationship that is anything but that? I definitely think they are joining forces to achieve some higher goal. One of them will most likely betray the other. Can't really see a kid being born from this peculiar union...

True. I'm surprise Blaze was never seen or mention in the story mode in MK9. He was the reason why everyone was killing each other in Armageddon. I would imagine that Raiden would get vision of him. I don't mind Blaze's humanoid form and I think that they can make him into a cool playable fighter in MKX since they can revamp him into some awesome. Different flame and lava variations can make him into a cool character. I agree that his boss form was horrible though. I hated Blaze in Armageddon since he was stupid, lame and easy to beat even on the hardest difficulty.

I would be disappointed if instead of developing Reiko they opted for a Reiko/Mileena child. It's about time we got better versions of certain MK4 characters.

I agree 100%. Would much rather see Reiko and Tanya up and kicking butt while we learn more about them and see them in interesting plots and storylines, rather than some kid that popped out one of them doing all they could be doing.

It wouldn't even make good sense, I think. After all that's exactly why we need more of the MK4 characters - who cares about a Reiko/Mileena child if we don't even know Reiko well enough? Then again, the comic wasn't clear on what's happening so I think it hinted at an alliance more than a descendant. Or at least I hope so.
