If you notice from Fox17's thread, he posted Ed Boon's confirmation of the upcoming DLC which comes out in ~2 weeks.

NRS has said before MK9 shipped that if they were to release DLC that's already on the disc, they would not charge for it. The retro costumes are already on the disc, every single one of them. I don't have the official source but if someone could provide a link, I would appreciate it.

But then again NRS has said that the netcode for the game will be great, which it's not. They also said Babalities wouldn't be in the game because they want a "serious MK."

Will you get this DLC if you have to pay for it? For me, I WILL NOT! I'm alright with some forms of DLC but it's never okay to sell things to you again that you already paid for when you bought the game. I'm alright with buying some kinds of DLC because it takes extra time and effort after the game is released to produce the DLC, but this stuff is already on the disc so there is no reason to charge for it other than greed.

If you aren't happy about buying it then you shouldn't. If it doesn't sell well then they would release it for free, and would learn from their mistakes. No offense but anyone who buys it (if it has a price) is a sheep. Same with gas/petrol prices, they just keep skyrocketting because the sheep eat it up and no one says anything.

No, because I have not been nor will be a fan of these costumes, if they're free, I'll take them, but I honestly never liked these retros, maybe if they had the MK2 female ninjas, i would be more intrigued...or if they added klassic fatalities for the females like Kitana's kiss of death...
 
I totally agree with the dispute that they should be free, but at the same time I would probably end up purchasing them anyhow for the fact that I'm a fan of nostalgia...so to speak.
 
Ill buy them im to lazy to unlock costumes an players hell if cyber sub-zero an quan chi came as dlc ill buy that also i hate story mode an refuse to play it to unlock them
 
i would buy insta all dlcs all classics all costumes all everything stages etc etc HD COLLECTION they gotta make this omg lol
 
I would never pay extra money solely for on-disc content. It is a dumb premise. And if you disagree with that statement, know that you are the reason they put a price tag on these things in the first place.

The smart thing for NRS to do would be to bundle the on-disc content with entirely new DLC, such as Skarlet or Kenshi. That way casual fans won't have qualms about paying for on-disc content because they'd be too busy toying with new combos. And NRS would still be swimming in pools of unnecessarily spent cash.

The smarter thing for NRS to do would be to release the on-disc content as a free download. That would pleasantly surprise most fans, and inspire them to buy the new DLC they release later with a smile. And NRS would be swimming in pools of cash they can feel good about.

They were already on the disc only if you have preordere six games from six different places. Learn to cope with that and go on. I'm totally in (if they don't cost more than 5euros.)

It's not like that MvC3 douchery, these are PRE-ORDER bonuses. Not content that is locked without a reason.
Hey, half of Skarlett is already on the disc!!!111!, when it is released for DLC I hope there is the possibility to buy only her missing parts. :shot:
 
Yes, I'm going to buy it. Might actually enjoy playing as Reptile and Scorpion then. :P But if it's not free (like it should be, and could very much be why they're not sure yet (they want it to be, but are unsure if it'll fly)), it had better be VERY cheap, since it is already on the disc, seen in the story and Challenge Tower, and as has been mentioned, they don't want to charge for on-disc DLC.
