Reptile?

if he was instead just his own character do you all think it still "looks gross" ?

Yeah.
Scorpion was turned into a robot and painted grey in MK3.
He was called Cyber Smoke, and it was terrible.

It wasn't until MK SM (non-fighting game) and MK9 that I finally got an appreciation for an original Smoke concept, who wasn't just a copy & paste robo-Scorpion, and actually had "Smoke"-based moves after his name.

Um.. that's an unfair statement. Your statement automatically assumes he would just copy moves all over again.

No.
It's a fair statement because MK3 Robo-Smoke WAS a clone in MK3, UMK3 and Trilogy.
My statement just implies that I didn't think that Robo Smoke was an original character at the time, which is what I do think.
I didn't like Smoke until MK9.

I'm not talking about Robo-Smoke dude... Why do you bring him up? You're right Robo-smoke copied moves.

Why are you automatically assuming that the image we saw of "robo-scorp" if he was his own character, and NOT actually scorpion. That he would just have scorpions moves?

He would very much be nothing like Robo-smoke in every conceivable way.

Because Cyber-Sub-Zero in MK9 leads me to believe otherwise.

Possibly, but after that CSZ horse shit, I have a hard time believing / trusting, otherwise.

Fair enough, Although I still didn't feel like CSZ was a clone. His bombs were ass, his freeze was slower.

The only cool things he had was freeze parry. He had good Dive kicks, but they were lame >.>; Safe dive kicks are not fun.

Which was originally human Sub-Zero's in MKvsDC and in the early stage demo of MK9, but to me it felt like they divided up all the moves making human and Cyber Sub-Zero feel half-assed, to me.
CSZ didn't even have a proper ending and he was killed off.

TBH I think he felt half assed, because it felt like they just straight up ran out of time toward his chapters.

Everything from CSZ on felt rushed. Especially that Sindel part. I was quite dissappointed that was how the heroes met their fate, rather than to the hands of their enemies.

Jax killed by Kano
Kitana killed by sindel
Jade killed by mileena infront of Kitana
Smoke killed by CSZ, just before Subzero gains consciousness.

so many DARK ways to kill the cast off, but they cheesed it with that rushed ass ending.

Cyber Smoke wasn't Grey, he was Purple.

Nope, you're crazy.
Rain is a Purple Ninja who called himself a Prince. The reference is obvious.

Cyber Smoke is Purple. How can THIS not be the reference?

Oh wait, that's on an album called "Machine Head". Doesn't Cyber Smoke have a Machine for a Head?

Purple = Deep Purple
Cyber = Machine Head
Smoke = Smoke on the Water

I always wondered, why was cyber Smoke purple anyways?

There doesn't seem to be a real answer to that question. One of the developers said that maybe Smoke's cybernetic body in MK3 is what Sub Zero would have used... Hence the color.

But again, there is no legitimate answer for why he was had a violet-blue costume.
