Rain is a Purple Ninja who called himself a Prince. The reference is obvious.
There are other reasons for the the color purple being relegated to Rain and why he's a prince.
The most popular one that people love to
"Herp, derp" on is the Prince / Purple Rain reference from Ed Boon, and they mock it while being ignorant as to why the color purple and Rain being a prince actually well go together.
Tyrian Purple was a rare color back in the day due to the snails that had to be killed to get the color extracted from.
The process of making the dye was long, difficult and expensive.
Thousands of the tiny snails had to be found, their shells cracked and the snail removed.
In the sunlight the juice extracted from the snail turned white, then yellow-green, then green, then violet, then a red which turned darker and darker.
The process had to be stopped at exactly the right time to obtain the desired color, which could range from a bright crimson to a dark purple (the color of dried blood).
Then either wool, linen or silk would be dyed.
The exact hue varied between crimson and violet, but it was always rich, bright and lasting.
Tyrian purple became the color of kings, nobles, priests and magistrates all around the Mediterranean.
TBH I think he felt half assed, because it felt like they just straight up ran out of time toward his chapters.
Everything from CSZ on felt rushed. Especially that Sindel part. I was quite dissappointed that was how the heroes met their fate, rather than to the hands of their enemies.
Jax killed by Kano
Kitana killed by sindel
Jade killed by mileena infront of Kitana
Smoke killed by CSZ, just before Subzero gains consciousness.
so many DARK ways to kill the cast off, but they cheesed it with that rushed ass ending.
Which also annoyed the ever-loving shit out of me.
It felt like Vogel said "Welp, let's wrap this shit up," towards the end of MK9's story.
It felt like they weren't even trying at that point.
I agree.
The heroes could have at least had more meaningful deaths, since they really wanted to
"wipe the slate clean," as Beran stated in his MKX interview.
So manye MEANINGFUL ways to kill the cast off, other than that lazy ass, empty, Superhuman Sindel plot.
