I got two words for you: retroactive continuity. :wink:

In MKT, in which Rain's MK9 bio seems to be loosely based on (the bio confirms he was orphaned during Shao Kahn's conquering of Edenia), Rain's father was an Edenian general killed by the forces of Outworld. He was smuggled away by Shao Kahn's armies and became a servant of him. The whole Armageddon story for him probably won't be brought back for him, especially since I doubt Taven and Daegon are going to come back in any future MK games.

That is true, they don't have to keep it the same. I just figured since this is after Armageddon, although it is before if that makes sense (damn you super complex timeline description), they would keep it the same.

Well, you could come up with some theories there. Rain didn't originally know of Argus, so the person he called father in his MKT story may have been his adopted father, or whatever passes for adoption on Edenia. :P

Im pretty sure, Rain knows about his royal status this time, just look at his costume, lots of golden stuff, I bet he knows he is the prince of Edenia.

Also I think his ending will be awesome and I cant wait for the full bio and the fatality wallpaper, we will have to wait till they create a spot for him at themortalkombat.com to get both things.

Youre not conprehending, he put "Noob" in parenthesis because that's what people compare it to. To spell it out: Yes Noobs teleport slam IS a special. While Rains move that looks similar is a GRAB that has to be done next to an opponent, NOT a special move.

Anyone who thinks a fighting game w/special moves and a roster size of 20+ let alone 30 characters can have all unique specials and combos is not in touch with reality.

Agree with all of this, Rain's water slam is his throw move (R1) not a special.

@TheNight Is impossible to make totally new moves, with your argument, Ermac and Smoke are Scorpion copies cause of the teleport punch, and Smoke is also a Reptile copy cause of the invisibility and Kenshi is a Noob copy cause of the charge move. Your argument is pointless. Rain IS UNIQUE.
 
Not really digging his ninja costume in this game,he doesnt need to be a ninja. Really liked his MK:A costume, it fit his story. Hope he has an Alt. costume of him maskless, showing him to be dark skinned, short mustachio, and sum jheri curls...

Also I wish they made his roundhouse kick make sense as to why the victim is teleported from the other side of the screen. They shoulve had his kick be electric and that when he kicked his victim the lightning would make a hole in the space time continuim sending them across time and back across the screen. Yay for science!!!

no, he still needs to stay a ninja. he's always been a ninja. But I will say this, I think his costume could have looked more unique and arabic styled. nothing like you mentioned though

Hell NO.

He must look like a ninja and hell no to unmasked ninjas, why does people want to unmask them? If they unmask a ninja then give a mask to Johnny Cage, make Sonya brunette and make Jax white with long hair like Slash, and make Kenshi not blind, is the same lame thing.

Every character has a basic concept that must be respected, Rain's basic concept is "Purple ninja with water powers", Sub-Zero's is "Blue ninja with ice powers" and Johnny Cage is "Arrogant actor with green energy", the few times they tried to modify characters basic concepts they failed, some examples are Zombie Liu Kang, MK3 and DA unmasked Sub-Zero and DA crocodilian Reptile, some people likes this costumes, why? is beyond me, but they need to respect the concept behind the character.

yeah I don't get why people want ninjas unmasked either. they are supposed to be mysterious and silent and all that. btw dude, you should update the Rain thread with his mini bio:

haha, thats what I've noticed about rain fans, they never like to mention the Prince.

Actually better idea, Prince...... just prince for 4th DLC
