On-topic: I think that Raiden is too obvious but maybe they don't care if it is! Fujin surely is, in my opinion, one of the most recognizable characters from MK4. As for MK4 being remembered or not, listen: I agree that a lot of people don't remember it and its characters, but I'm under the impression that they wouldn't really mind that detail. It's only a reveal, after all.
Off-topic, following the last few posts: I absolutely adore Mortal Kombat but I've always been disappointed by the lack of detail when it comes to characters' nationalities. Back in the "original 3" days it was a matter of limitations, as Sn202 mentioned (for instance: Shang Tsung was rightfully asian in MK II, but then turned into an american in the next game... it looked terrible, but that was because of the issues involving the MK II actor, if I'm not mistaken), but what's the problem nowadays? Shouldn't they look like someone who actually came from Asia/America/Europe/whatever? Then again, I always thought that most productions from North America (movies, games, etc) never paid much attention to this. It's like: 'oh, his/her eyes are a bit Asian - that'll do' (not counting the differences between Asian countries and their people).
