PS3/X360 versions - do they even exist?!

The average monthly salary in Brazil is something like $2600 Brazil Real. Over half the average monthly income is pretty expensive for sure.

I translated my current salary to BR and I dont know what the standard of living down there is, but I would be making about $13k a month. lol

I think what everyone is upset about isn't the logic behind the shafting of previous gen, but rather the fact that they claimed to be still supporting it by announcing a release for it. At this point, it isn't out of the realm of possibility that they could be scrapped altogether, which would be a huge slap in the face to loyal fans who were grateful that they'd get the MKX experience without having to fork over a ton of money. I mean, I thought about buying previous gen for this game as well at first, or save up to buy next gen for this game, but my wonderful Girlfriend bought me an Xbox One over the Summer. I'm glad I didn't go with the first decision because I'd probably feel the same way as the Brazilians here, plus Goddess, and whoever else I failed to mention.

They have been asked a million times about last gen versions and NRS always had the same answer "We are only working on Next Gen Versions". Any expectation that we set by you (not you specifically, just the general "you") are not their problem.

I completely understand that for a lot you the new systems are a huge investment. But NRS never misled anyone.

I make good money but I'm still not paying a grand for a video game console. That's ridiculous.

That is completely not true! The minimum wage here is R$788. This country is really a shame, but it's all it's people fault for voting the same president we got last time. The dolar here is at the highest value at the moment since 2004. Right now $1 = R$3,12.

Is $788 monthly? I mean, the minimum wage here in Ohio is $7.65 an hour. The minimum wage isnt entirely indicative of the entire population either.

Im not arguing other wise, I just got my economic information off Google. But the average is....well.....exactly that. it Includes the poorest of the poor and the richest of the rich. So it may not entirely be indicative of the majority of the population. Averages can easily be skewed.

Honesty, you past gen guys aren't missing much. Other than from MKX, Arkham Knight is the only game I'm excited for this year. This gen has been a major disappointment so far. All hype, no substance.

Haha i know, trust me, it really doesn't reflect the population. Everything here is really expensive and full of taxes. The PS4 is a big example... I found it around R$1600 ($511), but all the major stores (Walmart is one of them) sells them for $3600 ($1152). Right now, that the dolar is that high the difference of the USA prices are not that big. But last year (december 2014), when 1 dolar was around R$2, the difference was big.

When Dilma (the actual and last president) won last election, the dolar went from R$2 to around R$2,80. All investors take off their dolars out of circulation from our country cause they know she make no good for industries at all.

I'm almost finishing my graduation (Chemical Engineering) and i'm struggling very very hard to find a nice job.

Very true. I'm also from Brazil and i'm already planning to buy a PS4 in April just to play MKX. Our biggest problem is it is very expensive around here, the lowest price i've found is around R$1600. Have you preordered the game yet? I'm in doubt if i should...

Isso! O mais barato que eu achei foi 1600 reais também, no Mercado Livre. Eu quase comprei na pré-venda pela saraiva mas pagar 227 reais em um jogo de PS3 que eu nem sei o recursos que estarão inclusos ou não, é foda neh! One Dollar right now equals R$3.1 a few months ago was 2.2, now 3.1 plus this is not the only problem. the taxes here is unnecessarily huge! If u go to the mall and decide to buy a PS4, most of the stores will ask for nothing less than 900 Dollars. the cheapest console i found is 550 Dollars.
I'll probably buy a PS4 soon, but no right now. So i'm not sooo worried about MKX PS3 version being not so good. But, for now, that's the version i'm gonna play.

I have to agree with this one. I got a PS4 for two reasons, specifically for MKX and Arkham Knight. The other reason is because my 360 isn't running so great anymore. For the most part, the only enjoyable games I've played on PS4 were all remastered, like The Last of Us. The only next gen games I've truely enjoyed so far were Far Cry 4 and Dying Light. And Dying Light is still a slight disappointment if you compare it to the work in progress gameplay.

I know how that feels, I live in Brazil aswell, though I've managed to buy myself a PS4 in a trip to the USA.

My advice would be to wait until you can buy the PS4 and experience the game in it's full capacity.The old-gen versions will probably make you feel underwhelmed.

I understand if you can't wait, though you might be dissapointed in what you recieve.

I've seen many comments on different forums telling other users to "just upgrade your console" and I feel like that is so inconsiderate. I'm out of a job right now so I can't simply drop $400 on a new console for just one game. As much as I love MK I'm not going to do that to myself. And with MKX being so close to release I feel let down, as a long-time fan, because I paid for my copy of the game expecting it to be released in April not in June. I hope NRS says something about the last gen version soon just to get the news out there.

If you look back on older systems, the PS1 was dead by 2002 and the PS2 was dead by 2008. The PS3 is almost 10 years old and I doubt most of you were still using the PS1 as your main console 10 years ago.

Yeah PS4 and Xbox One cost a lot but so did the PS3 and 360. I do wish MKX was PC and next gen only. MK11 will be our first non cross-gren MK game, but by 2019 then the PS4 and XO will be almost dead since the PS5 will likely be out by 2020.

Edit: It seems like PS4 and XO are super over price in Brazil. I can't speak for you guys since I'm viewing things in a US stand point of view.

So what if it's cross-gen? NRS have stated at least three different times that they are not working on the last-gen versions, so they aren't restricting themselves.

People will jump over when they do the first significant price cut. Keep in mind that (in my opinion at least) with Xbox One and PS4, there's a major technological jump when compared to previous generations which can cause even more expenses involved with purchasing next gen. Case and point, HDMI is the only output for video. I still have CRT Televisions in my house. Not to mention HDTV's that only have Component inputs. I'm willing to bet that some gamers do not own a HDTV with a HDMI port, even in 2015.
