Where are you getting this information from? Kotal is definitely not the most popular new character, Mileena wasn't at the bottom of the tier list in MK9 (she was closer to the middle) & how the hell do you know that D'Vorah will be at the bottom of the tier list if the game hasn't been released yet? Some people, seriously...

Who care what tier she ends up in. You can still whip ass with her online if you have skill. F#%k tier list! I don't care if my character is at the very bottom of the list, it just makes my victory that much sweeter.

The game isn't even out yet, how would you know if D'Vorah is gonna be relevant or not? :roll:
I honestly feel she won't, but hey you never know. I never thought I would use Reptile at the beginning of MK9 but he became my main.

from the nrs website ill give a direct link if you like. For ps3 and 360 mileena was ranked 23rd as most played as how is that the middle? Even jade was higher. The only females that were comparable to the raidens, liu kangs, scorpions, kung laos, johnny cages, subzeros and others wrre sonya and kitana. D'vorah receives mixed reactions just like mileena. Kotal receives barely any criticism everyone pretty much loves him . Here is the link

MKX will go through phases just like MK9. When pros do good on video or new tech is discovered. There was a Noob phase, Mileena, Reptile, Kabal, etc. I saw lots of Noob players in the first couple weeks because everyone thought he was OP. haha

Kotal IS the most popular. Several polls and discussion threads have established that.
My favourite new chars are D'Vorah and Kung Jin though.
However, Kotal Kahn rides a dinosaur, that's as awesome as it gets.

I definitely agree with Kotal's immense popularity, but I wonder if that popularity will extend to online matches. I love him as a character, but he's somewhere in the bottom of my top 10 for characters I want to try in MKX.

Do you know what a tier list is? Tier lists have absolutely nothing to do with character popularity; a character's placement on a tier list is determined by a variety of things, such as match-ups or tournament results. Popularity isn't one of them.

As far as tier lists go ... who cares? Some of the best players take a "low tier" character and wreck shop with them , mostly because the other players don't have any match-up experience against them. Seeing Kung Lao played for a few years gave a player a sense of how to at least try and counter them. Playing characters that nobody uses gives a player a slight advantage that isn't considered. Like when I used to wreck a good Cyrax player with Sheeva just because they counted her out before the match even started.
