I believe NRS create a list of popular guest choices and got the rights to different characters. They most likely had the rights to Spawn but went with Predator seeing that Predator won the guest character poll.
 
Predator is awesome. Would've rather had Spawn over Jason though. Still gonna wait to see what mk characters are dlc before I get the Kombat pack though. So far I would get the first two.

This is precisely what I was thinking. It makes absolute zero sense for not a single cyborg to be playable in this game. It sucks, but I believe he definitely has the potential to make up for it.

We know they got the green light to put Spawn in the game.the reason why they didn't pick him is most likely because of the physics of the living cloak, let alone that it would be taking up like half of the screen.they didn't want to be dealing with clipping issues.

I don't get why people say that? I mean Spawn is a R rated superhero that kills people. He fits in MKX better then he does in Injustice 2. I rather have Injustice 2 have someone like Hellboy or Goku then Spawn in a T rated fighting game.

I know nothing about Spawn but wouldn't have been against him being in instead of Jason, but come on... Predator? The guy is tailor-made for a Mortal Kombat game, and the new variation system allows for some awesome potential for him. The shoulder launcher... cloaking... flamethrower... his blade things... the mask (which could be removed in one variation, like Mileena's)... it's just perfect.

We would have seriously be missing out if they'd skipped on the option of adding Predator to MKX.
 
I'm a big fan of both Jason and Predator. It blows my mind to see Jason and Predator fight off. It's a dream match from my childhood come true. It makes more sense then seeing Kratos fighting Freddy. As for Spawn not being in the game, I want it to happen but I'm not upset about it. Either he will be a season two Kombat Pass (which I doubt) or in MK11 (got to wait another four years).

I don't really care about the gameplay, if the very foundation of the character is something I don't like. And I'm not going to spend money on a character I don't like to find out if his gameplay is any fun. If I was someone who ONLY cared about gameplay, then I might, but that is not the case. I don't support the notion of having these characters as guests in MKX, so I'm not going to show my support by buying them. But it doesn't bother me enough to go crazy about it and refuse to even touch the game either (which is rather fanatic, imo).

Also... "so much hate on Jason"? Really? From what I can tell, most of the people on here love the two guest characters. That there are some of us that doesn't like either of them shouldn't bother you.

At this point it doesn't matter who the 2 returning MK DLC characters are. Jason Voorhees was enough to make me spend the $30 for this pack. Add in PREDATOR (whom I wanted in the game at the first mere mentioning of him) and all the cool skins that come with it....I would pay the $30 with a smile on my face.

Is it bad that I may not use many MK characters in a Mortal Kombat game?? Except Goro and possibly one of the new girls. Cassie or Jacqui (however it's spelled). My hype level , after yesterdays stream and todays reveal , is through the roof!

Man, i miss that kind of silly stuff.
We have fatality, Quitality and Brutality...everything is kind of the same stuff with different cameras.
I miss friendships, or maybe babalities....or even animalities.
That silly things that makes MK, a MK game.
