If I'm being completely honest I don't want any MK9 characters as future DLC, as it is the main roster is flooded with them. I honestly would prefer more 3D era characters getting an opportunity to shine because, while it's not a big deal to wait till MK11 to see any of them, I also feel it's worth mentioning that none of the 3D era crew have a surefire chance at being included in the future. Hence, I don't have any disagreements with any 3D era people making the cut for MKX DLC.

Fujin feels more fresh now, especially being part of story mode.
Also, Fujin being DLC for MKX doesn't mean him being kept out for MK11.
How do you figure that?
Being DLC for the previous game doesn't automatically =/= exclusion from the following game.
Kenshi was on the main roster for MKX and he was DLC in MK9.

I didn't say it was a forgone conclusion that he wouldn't appear if he was Dlc. It was more just my opinion then anything fact.

But there is also the chance that they don't want to use Fujin at all, and only reason they do is because of Fan demand.

Would take Sektor in a heartbeat. I can't stand that both of my MK9 mains lived through the game, but become dead npcs in the next.

Being dead or alive in the previous game doesn't matter, as Kitana, Kung Lao and Liu Kang have proven.
Neither does being dead in the same game, as half of the MK9 cast was dead in the same game that they appeared in, and Mileena and Quan Chi are dead as far as MKX story mode is concerned.
NRS likely just didn't see a reason to have him in.
Sheeva and Cryax are presumed to still be alive, as of MK9, but those 2 aren't in MKX either.

The same can be said for Tremor, though, and he's in.

Commander. I mean they might just put him in as Dlc due to fan demand, but not follow up on it in the next game because they don't have plans to use him.

I dunno.
I could definitely see Fujin taking Raiden's place as the new protector, now that Raiden's gone "Dark."
By "taking Raiden's place" I don't mean or imply Raiden not being playable in MK11, just Fujin assuming Raiden's former role.

Who's the other one? Cyrax? If it's him we don't know if he actually died.

My 2 cents on Fujin...

I think Fujin is a big mystery and can go either way. Personally, I think they don't have any big plans for him and he was in MKX mainly because he had to. I think they know there is fan demand for him, but at the same time I think they don't know what to do with him because of Raiden. They could revamp him a bit in terms of how he looks and slightly gameplay-wise, but I think his integration into the story is what's causing the delay. It will all depend on what they do with Raiden in MK11. If Raiden dies (who cares he's a god) or he realizes he screwed up and steps down, I could see Fujin being finally in and taking his place. If Raiden doesn't die and actually becomes a hero, then I don't know. He could join the Elder God club and just become a face in the sky, thus giving room Fujin, or he could be as he is (dark or normal) and continue doing his thing - lowering Fujin's odds. The other way I see Fujin being in is if Raiden seeks his help in MK11, because he's overpowered. But I'm not sure that will happen. This depends on who's going to be the villain. If Shang Tsung is returning, which is hinted at, maybe Dark Raiden could take him out by himself. But then there's also Kitana and Liu Kang. Will they join Shang Tsung and create the new "deadly alliance"? These 3 could be a lot to handle even for Raiden, imo. Not to mention Havik will possibly be lurking around the corner. Can Raiden take down Shang Tsung, probably more powerful than before, Liu Kang, Kitana and Havik all on his own? Nah, doubt it. So... Who's he gonna call? Ghostbusters! LMAO, seriously, though. Fujin would be his best bet. Johnny is out, Sonya is out, Jax is out, Kenshi is out. If they're in MK11, they're going to be only cameos giving advice and support. That leaves the new guys - Cassie, Kung Jin, Takeda and Jacqui. These four? They'll have to be there, we know, but I don't see them playing a major role this time. They will help, for sure, but heroes? No. Just no. So... Who else? Then there's only Li Mei, Bo Rai Cho and Sareena. These 3 I can see getting a larger role and being playable. Shujinko? Taven? Could be, but those really are a big mystery as well. Hard to guess if/how they'll include them. I'm not ruling it out, but then again... It would be imo a bit lame if Taven was the hero. Plus I doubt they're going to just copy the events. So realistically Raiden will have, if he'll feel like it, only 9 characters to ask for help. 9 + Fujin. Fujin imo is more powerful than most of those 9 characters and would be useful. I think they're simply holding him back to give him more room in MK11. Because adding him to MKX would have almost zero value due to how small his role was and because it seems they don't think he would fit. If they really wanted him playable, he would be. But he didn't make it as MK9 DLC, MKX main nor MKX DLC - despite there being some plans. I think that says a lot. I think if he's one of the additional characters for MKX, it will really be purely because of fan demand and they'll ignore him in MK11. Personally, I'd rather see him in MK11 than in MKX. Give him the room he deserves.

As for who deserves to be DLC the most, apart from Fujin? Sareena. Why? Because of her ties to Shinnok and Quan-Chi and MKX's story. With both of them being killed off, I'm not sure what they could do with her story-wise in MK11. Now's the time to bring her back and revamp her. She could have something interesting to say to Sub-Zero, Scorpion or Tanya as well. And after her? Baraka.

I for one would love to see a DLC Story Pack which includes story plots thats fill in the blanks from the MKX story line bringing everything to a whole!
Definitely would love DLC Characters of course, Frost, Fujin, Li Mei & Sareena and if anything a Cameo from Cyrax just to give us an idea of his whereabouts.

Fujin & Baraka, Rain, Alien.
Fujin has a huge demand and has a fully developed look.
Baraka and Rain in a way same as Fujin. Baraka also no longer looks like a generic tarkatan, although many people would disagree due to bandwagoning opionions
Alien, because well...AvP :)
Sindel is a low bet for me. Her costume is pretty much the same as MK9's. Not to mention she is not that popular, not that NRS cares about that(*cough*Kano*cough*)

I started this thread before the 'Kombat Pack I' comment on the Tremor stream, and at the time I honestly thought a second pack was the least likely outcome but I put it up as an option because you can't rule anything out. I suppose it's possible that Tyler either misspoke (he did appear to correct himself afterwards) or was trolling, but then again the game's success means that a second full pack is a possibility. My only hope is that if they decide to do 'Kombat Pack II' then it doesn't include two more guest characters, as that would a) diminish the chance of certain interesting klassic characters returning, and b) pretty much guarantee that I won't buy it.

As for the Story Pack, it was teased and it does seem one of the more likely options, but on the other hand I don't care about two of the three fightable NPCs who would likely be in it and having all of them ultimately being released as DLC would somewhat undermine the fact that they were apparently not meant to be playable in the first place, and it was just a case of them not making the original roster because NRS ran out of time and resources. It would certainly be the most boring and 'lazy' choice of DLC pack, IMO.

I agree that Rain and Fujin seem likely additions (in whatever form) due to both the number of requests and teases from Boon, but I also remain slightly sceptical about Rain because of remarks made about not repeating DLC. I've always felt that he had a decent chance of being added as a free DLC character, which is why I've added him as a separate option. We've been told that MKX will have plenty of free kontent, they don't want to charge for him twice in a row, and he has a great costume and an important role in the story, which would influence his character intros. If we're lucky enough to be given a free character alongside some of the upcoming paid DLC, then I have no doubt that it would be Rain.

Fujin seems a popular likely first choice among many fans across various forums, and clearly NRS are aware of this as he has been teased in various ways since even before the game was released, and indeed in-game as well. If they don't act on this then I'll be both bitterly disappointed and genuinely confused, as aside from being an interesting character with a potentially amazing move set with current gen tech, it would be easy money in the bank for NRS/WB. It's also no secret that he's generally been ****ed over in every game since MK4 (I don't really count Armageddon as everyone was in it, and it wasn't a particularly good game) and it's frankly plain bizarre that he wasn't on the original MKX roster and even apparently had additional scenes cut from story mode.

At this point, I honestly have no idea who will be released as DLC, but I sort of feel a forlorn hope about Fujin, as even though he seems such an incredibly obvious choice, I am still half-expecting to be let down. Knowing my luck, it'll be a couple of WB movie cash-ins along with Frost and Cyrax.
