People's extreme love and passion towards characters

I'm gonna make a thread called people who believe extreme passion for a character means they're gonna play only with him!
There we can talk about commander and rolling roster, people who believe they know everything about others'preferences and keep commenting about em! Seems great right?

Who the hell are you? I didn't even know you... Please stop talking about me if you don't know me! I've stated like 1000000000 times i love Kitana but i will play with many more like cassie, Tanya or kotal, so if you can't read all the posts please refrain of making assumptions of me!

You're the same person who originally cursed others out and went on an angry tirade and went on saying that you wouldn't buy the game, though, because people didn't agree with your notion of wanting Kitana in the game.
You have given yourself that reputation.

Lol nice,I agree with you..how many characters you use doesn't have to do with how good you are lol.I made a blanket statement.

I'm pretty damn good..not gonna even lie sell myself short..But my head isn't so far up my butt that I actually think that im the best.YES I have lost to users who use more than one or two characters.BUT MOST...MORE THAN MOST of the time I wreck those guys..

I've said plenty of times that people learn differently .I don't have to use a character to know how to fight against them.Someone else may and im not knocking anyone for that .This formula works great for me and im sticking to it.I hope to run into those guys who use more than 2 or 3 characters .its good practice lol..they usually tend to be mediocre with all 4 guys..

I have gotten my ass handed to me by people who obviously had more time me though...i just didn't lose a lot .

"Hereeeee's JOHNNY!!!!"

we need to have a TRMK room on the weekend the game comes out lol

Bandai Namco removing King wouldn't be a big deal to some players, but it would be an omega level code black defcon 5 nono in my book.

King's not even a real fighter to begin with; he's a stage actor, which is what Rasslers really are.

No what you said isn't untrue.

RADEC failed to factor in MANY elements into his point.

1.) previous FGC experience. Chris G can pick up any fighting game and his fundamentals will be REALLY good. So he'll progress faster.
2.) Improving the right way. Just because 2 people are playing the same amount of time, doesn't mean their skill should be equal. People can approach self-improvement in better or worse ways. Altering how fast you get good.
3.) Brain endurance aka how long you can maintain high level thinking for long periods of time. Plenty of times online I get drained from trying ALL the time that I'll go auto-pilot.

What I'm saying is.

If we could clone the guy he's talking about. Have one version of him main only 1 top tier, and the other learn 12 characters at high level. the one only playing 1 top tier will outperform everytime. it's simple math really.

That was so good I had to screen shot it..

I didn't want to argue with him so I sugar coated my point a bit..but I do think you're going to be a better player using 1 guy rather than using 5 .

If I picked up the game and had ten hours to play and only used one character im sure im going to best the guy who had the same amount of time but he decided to use 5 characters . He'd win some matches but I'll win most ..
RADEC I probably won't play online for the first couple of days.plus I play on xbox1..

Im going to make a thread about this ..its almost gametime!!!!!!

"Hereeeee's JOHNNY!!!!"

Limit missed the part where i said other people will have more time on their hands. I personally have nothing to do during the days so i will be able to get a really good understanding with more than 1 guy.

awwwww thats disappointing!!!

If you're for instance, only maining Johnny cage. You will get better than a alternate version of yourself where you mained 9 characters.

If I come at you with 6 characters, and all 6 beat you.

That just means I have a better understanding of the game OVERALL. or I put in more time than you.

If we played the SAME time, It just means I look at the game in a better way for self improvement, and you're not looking at the game in the same perspective or light.

Uh, no I factored that. and you're still wrong. Do you want me to elaborate?

i'm not trying to be a dick, I just think you're looking at it wrong.

Welcome to my ignore list! I can't understand people who believe they know better someone than himself... Really egocentric and presumptuous!
I mean if I'm saying i want more chars than Kitana like hundred times it's really clear my opinion, but if you want to assume my own mind because of a rage comment i made it's your problem, don't involve me with your interpretations!

yea i do actually, Because idk what u talking about

Ok,

I'm not trying to toot my own horn here but I'm a tournament player, I play in tournaments around the world. I have never won a NATIONAL tournament, but I have tango'd with some of the best in the world.

My MK9 achievements are Taking Pig of the Hut(who's been top 3 at EVO), and Tyrant(top Jax player) to last game last hit. I beat Chris G online 3-0.

Just to put some scope on my ability.

Now.

Yes TIME is a factor, but it's not the only factor.

You could spend 5 years, 14 hours a day playing, and still lose a guy who only played 3 hours a day 4 days a week.

Why? some factors include: Previous fighting game experience, High level experience, how far ahead you can think, how you approach your losses, and much much more.

So lets say you want to be BEST on your server RADEC.

You fight some dude who kicks your ass, yet you only main 1 character. You've played more than him how is this possible?

When you lose do you investigate your losses? the guy you're fighting might take EVERY MATCH, and EVERY hit that he takes. and formulates a strategy to prevent that from happening again, or at the very least reducing the problem. You might just pass by the match, thinking, "I'll do better this time" w/o analyzing every aspect of why you lost.

THIS type of stuff is what made that dude you fought on the ps3 kick your ass, with multiple characters despite you only having 1.

If you had approached the game with the SAME mindset as that dude, and the same experience. You would've destroyed him.

You playing more characters this time around is actually going to hurt you. Yes that dude beat you with multiple characters, he learns faster than you, because he approaches the game with the correct mindset for self-improvement.

So he was able to learn like 8 characters in the same time it took you to learn 1. And your 1 isn't even on his 8's level. But I promise you, that guy if he went to a national tournament would get bodied by the worlds best players who happen to play only 1-2 characters.

I listed this in another thread but I'll do it again.

Top tournament players no specific order.
Perfect Legend: 2 time EVO champion, Kung lao - Kabal
Tom Brady: Subzero - Raiden
Pig of the Hut: Kenshi - Mileena
CDJR: Jax - Kabal
MITT: Cyrax
Tyrant: Jax
Dizzy: Cage
16Bit: Kitana
DR: Noob
Ketchup: Sektor
Chris G: Reptile
REO: Kabal

do you notice a trend with the best players in the world? because sticking to 1-2 characters gets you better faster. It's not the only factor, but it's definitely a large contributing one.

If you learn 8 characters this time RADEC, you'll have to learn every string, frame advantage, negative on blocks, options after a block stun hit, options after a confirm hit, what's reactable what's not reactable. Ways to punish jump ins.

All these little things you'll need to learn it with all your characters. And let me tell you this.

I played MK9 for 3 years, Even after 3 years, I had things to learn about my 2 mains. Ermac/Noob, and I STILL do. There is so much information out there.

I'm going to add one more point. Being the best you can be is all about win%.

If you beat the best guy in the world 1% of the time. 1 out of 100 matches. That's not good odds right? you'll be seen as a fraud.

Every tiny miniscule thing you learn about your character increases the odds.

You might think "Critical learning this 1 tiny things only increases my chances of beating best man in the world by .5%"

The difference between the best guy in the world and you. Is that he learned ALL of these tiny % increasers, so that he can remain consistent in beating everyone. They add up.

And spreading out that knowledge to multiple characters decreases the % chance you could've had for 1 character.

Way to go, Incubus. Bullying is totally all the rage. Nice to see you're following the trend you like to claim others do.

It is not bullying, it is stating my disappointment in him, after he had said he had changed and then returns to randomly insult people with these name-callings. And yes, I am still disappointed in your behaviour as well, but alas, instead of posing hope and trust into you guys actually trying to be nice people, I'll just put you on ignore instead. Because apparently, trying to go the diplomatic approach and talk with you people doesn't work.

This thread has taken a serious turn lol. We can agree to disagree about why some people buy games for whatever reason, and what makes it right or not is 100% truly subjective.

Let's move onto the topic of rigorously defending your favourite character. To the point where you take offence to anything bad said about them. My question is... Why? I'm sorry but if anything bad is said about your favourite, and you take serious offence to it, I will question your mental state and maturity level.

Let's group the people who spam Ed and NRS about their favourite being excluded and wanting characters to be removed in favour of their own favourite, with the above mentioned.

Nobody should take offense to someone disliking something you like. It just means THAT person is the one not being very understanding.

I mentioned this earlier in this thread I think, but I have time and time again experienced people trying to use my favourite characters against me whenever I've said something negative about their favourite character. As if they take it personally that I don't like certain characters or even just aspects of that character, and then they try to hurt me back by saying shit about some of my faves.

First of all, I can't help but laugh at that. Talking shit about a character I like isn't going to offend me, and it shouldn't offend you when someone talks shit about your faves. As my faves are some of the more non-popular characters, I'm used to people saying bad things about them, so maybe that's why I don't care about it.

I mean if you like Tanya, Power to you.

oh wait are you going to quote me and change the first half of the sentence to something negative even though it's not?
