Okay, this is stupid.

I've been trying to get used to Online Play, since facing a human and facing the program are two different things, although most players seem to pick up combos from the AI.

Now, I have NEVER been good at PvP ever since it was stressed to function over the internet rather than in-person. Not only does the occasional lag suck, but I just can't play as well. It also seems that any time I play online, even though I input commands correctly, they seem to fail, but I guess that comes with the lag.

Now, I've been wanting to train with someone who knows how to handle all the people who spam or use those combos that seem impossible to stop (and I've been trying to learn combos with Freddy) but every time I make a room labeled 'PRACTICE', either no one joins or they just maul me. Now, I've won some matches, and I love the KotH mode, but it seems that spammers or people that use the same combo that can't be blocked are the only people online. Now, it's gotten to where I have to use Rain and spam my bubble combo to be able to win, and even THAT doesn't work, and it upsets me that I have to lower my gameplay to that just to have a chance at winning.

Ever since I started playing fighting games on my PS3, I've been doing terrible, but if you face me on the PC/PS2, your toast.

Anyone here that's good with the DLC characters, especially Freddy? I really like him, but I haven't found any combos of my own yet.
 
Ill practice with you im zent165 on psn. I main tsung so i spam alot. I really need the arcade stick so i can do moves better.
 
i'm toast on PC/PS2?, what about PS3, what happens then? hit up the training mode pause select move list and their's plenty of combos for Freddy, Rain.. check out the "Come to Freddy" thread here, plenty of combos in there

Sure spammers mar the fun of the online, but it always fun to kick their ass and watch them kick and scream isn't it?

And ALL combos can be blocked (with some exception) so I am at a loss about the combos part... Give me example?

I think i mentioned MY OWN combos, using the combos they give you is okay for the Ladder and Challenge Tower, but you should really find something that works on your own for Online. I managed that with Quan Chi, but once again, my inputs tend to fail.

Scorpion: Two high attacks followed by his trip-special. It's a mix-up that's good, but I can;t seem to counter it.

that isn't unblockable... If you know it is coming, block low, not so hard
Not to mention it is punishable...

And I think we have had enough threads about lag and bad online play.....

True, I guess I just need to react faster. Oh well, adding you zetrix seeing as you offered to help me.
 
by inputs do you mean not being able to win matches online, or not being able to string up combos with Freddy.. Freddy's a relatively new character, it'll take time to get adjusted

Stringing combos AND using special moves. I know 2/3 of the roster's special moves by memory, but when I play online, they tend to not activate when I input them: it seems the occasional lag has part of that, but I think I need to be slower about how I input commands and faster about how I react to combos. That, and I need to master using breakers.
 
People think you wakeup and are good at MK. Or you spend a day practicing, even a week and expect to be pro. It takes time and dedication like everything else. If you don't put in the work, don't expect anything in return. Freddy has been out for a day. Sure some people are already beast with him and know resets, traps, 60%+ combos, etc. But not everyone is blessed with the ability to learn quickly. The average player needs to work at it. Keep practicing (and not online, training only). Practice till you can do combos, and know your characters safe strings without even thinking about them.
 
combo spamming no it's not spamming they are using the combo that is easy to pull off online and if ur having problems with combo's then u might be giving up the same spots or ur making the same mistake.

that gives the player the opening that they need to do that same combo.

knowing Mortal Kombat's rosters special moves is cool, got to spend time in training is all i can say.. in one day trying to win all matches without knowing your character is not good, in this case its Freddy to think like this will be hurtful

what i'm saying this

it's not spamming if ur making the same mistake's
example if u jump in and get upper cutted then u jump in and get upper cutted again that's not the other persons fault it's ur's because u keep jumping in.

That's not spamming, but I faced a Raiden who used a kick combo to follow up into Flying Thunder God. It seemed it didn't matter whether you blocked high or low, one of the kicks got through, and he always followed up with FTG. I was so close to beating him (he beat me via chip damage by spamming FTG and I couldn't follow up because when i tried to uppercut, it somehow spaced us and he LOOKED close enough to hit, but he wasn't, so he would punish me), and i can works wonder with Quan Chi, but I try not to use him because people look at Quan Chi and that he gets both an amazing stun and a teleport and they whine.

Flying Thunder God is easily punished. It does space you, but it requires one dash and he's still in the air when you get there.

Okay, i guess I'm just to used to it not spacing and being even more easily punished, thx for the info. Now, anyone know of a good way to combo into Freddy's sleep skill?
