I've only seen one 10 given to Cyrax. I've seen a number of 9's, but only one 10. A couple 9.5's have been handed out as well. I agree with the gist of your post, but I just don't see Cyrax being labeled consistently as "perfect".

The only chars that could reach a 10 are Kung Lao, Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung, but no char is perfect, they should have 9.5 at best, more or less.

I do disagree with that. All three of those characters are top-tier without a doubt (watching Alex Valle's Shang Tsung is like watching death on wheels lol, for those who have never seen a good Tsung, check him out), but a 10, to me, is perfection. None of these guys are perfect, nor will they ever be. To be perfect is to be able to win every time against every character no matter the skill-level of the user. However, I do see them as three of the very best characters in the game and will vote accordingly. It's just my opinion on voting a perfect 10/10 that bothers me lol.
 
A perfect 10 :

Shao Kahn playable, and, without being toned down regarding cheapness, special moves damage and resistance against moves ...... the same Shao Kahn cheater in Ladder Expert, is the same you have access to play , lol !!

Can you imagine Michaelangelo, Tom Brady, Justin Wong, Chris G or any of others top players using a character like this, against all the rest of MK 2011 roster (not counting Kintaro and Goro) ..... ????

I've been keeping out of the rating game because I don't feel like I'm qualified to make meaningful numerical contributions to this thread, but I can say that I'm really surprised that Scorpion is ranked as a low tier character. He might not be the best player in the game but maybe in trying to drop him down a notch, people pushed it a bit far and dropped him two notches...? Scorpion is a formidable character. I've played enough to know that I get uncomfortable when I have to fight against him. If I guess wrong I get punished pretty hard.
 
Personally I would not give 10 to Sub-Zero or Shang Tsung over Cyrax at all. I gave 10 to Cyrax because I truly feel he's got a lot more going on for him. I thought it was okay, not many people would give Cyrax 10 and it just helps his average. There's no denying Cyrax is a beast and by way Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung are great match-ups for him :]

I get what you're saying but by giving him a 10 in hopes of boosting his rating you've kinda skewed things improperly. You're not voting on how good you see him as you're voting because you think other people didn't vote high enough for him and are trying to artificially inflate his rating ever so slightly. That's really not the point of all this. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but that seems like what you were saying.

Where can I find videos of him? I want to improve my Shang Tsung.

I don't feel I'm boosting his ratings at all. Even if I had given him a 9, it wouldn't have mattered anyway since everyone seems to be pretty universal when it comes to Cyrax. Boosting someone's rating would me be giving Mileena a 9 - and some people actually did, did you too? - when she's clearly not on the same level of Cyrax's and nowhere near to be top-tier, but people who are openly her fans gave her 9 anyway. That for me IS boosting a favourite character's ranking when most people gave her 7-8. I don't even use Cyrax, but playing against him and watching fantastic players of him made me give a solid 10 to him. He is what I would consider a near perfect character in MK. There are very few things going against him at this point (unlike Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung).

Giving Cyrax 9 or 10 wouldn't have mattered and that was what I meant. I will give points from 5-10, even though the game IS balanced enough, some characters have clearly a lot of advantages over others.

I haven't boosted anyone, it serves no point lol. This is a tool for people to use and skewing a tool kinda defeats the purpose. I support all my ratings with what I see in a character, not how other people should see her. I've only even openly disagreed with one rating and that was the assertion that Scorpion was getting hate-votes. Mostly I was just defending my point of view and what I saw as the reason for voting Scorpion lower than many of the other fighters.

To clarify, I wasn't saying "you bastard, how dare you!" but your previous post definitely made me wonder if you weren't boosting him. I'm not trying to start shit, man, but you can see how the sentence "I thought it was okay, not many people would give Cyrax 10 and it just helps his average." might make feel that way. I also made sure to note that I might be misunderstanding you. If that's the case, no hard feelings and thanks for honestly supporting this thread. That sentence just threw me a little. *holds hands up in universal signal for "s'all good"* =)

Yeah, and she's nowhere near bottom tier, yet people who openly dislike her gave her 6's anyway.

Why? Cyber Sub-Zero can wreck people. His pressure game is pretty beast, especially if he's allowed to control the air with his crazy-fast Dive Kick. He gets a free hit off his Ice Ball, he has a low hitting Slide, he has Ice Bombs for some minor shenanigans, he can Teleport, and he has good pressure strings. I don't see what's wrong with him, I think he's really good. A number of high level players back up this rating as well.

IMO our castings should be more like 3-7 area.

We're getting too "close" to perfection with these numbers. Perhaps people are looking at this 2 different ways.

1. group is looking at this as 10 = best on the roster. 1= worst on the roster

2. group is looking at this as 1=Garbage character no matter how good you are you probably won't win even vs a baby mashing buttons,
10= PERFECTION: You pick this character you might as well reselect at the character screen because you already won

3.group is looking at this as in reference to the previous characters. Such as... if we all see sheeva as a 6.5 and we all think she's low tier... we obviously are gonna throw CYRAX WAY UP at 9.5. ect. when in reality it should probably be more like take all the averages and drop them down like 3 notches. Because all these characters truly do have room for more depth/tools.
