Official Street Fighter Thread

BBBLP is right. TRMK isn't big enough for TWO versions of me. Sorry SecondCitySaint, but you've gotta go.

I wasn't planning on staying any longer past the MKX launch day in April but I thought this community was cool back then so i decided to stay here..

Not so sure if I have the same opinion for most of you people today

I am not realy sure what Capcom was thinking. Ryu wasn't even top tier in SFV beta phase 1 ( Birdie, Cammy & Bison were top tier in phase 1 ) YET Capcom has nerfed Ryu way too much in phase 2 and even during those stress tests Ryu has received several nerfs. If you have ever played SF4 vanilla Guile you know where Ryu's is at right now.
I am not complaining, but I am trying to understand why Capcom would nerf a character this much.

Cr.lk not cancelable anymore
F+mp damage decrease to 60
F+hp damage decrease to 90
Ex tastu damage decrease to 140
Air Ex tastu damage decrease to 160 from 200
Ex tastu into Ex Dp doesn't work anymore
B+Hk hitstun decrease can't even combo into st.mp
Jump m. punch,Air ex tastu into Ex Dp can't combo anymore
2x jump mp won't work anymore
V-trigger hadoken damage decrease to 70
Neutral Jump tastu no longer possible
All version of DP *Except Ex* on later active frames damage will be 60
Lk. tatsu doesn't combo into EX DP in the corner
Meaty overhead doesn't combo anymore
Ryu can't combo into cr. HK
backward air tatsu not possible anymore
f. HP into 2x st. MP doesn't work, you can only hit st. MP once now
All Axe kick combos are not possible anymore except for st. LK
Ex Dp first hit range decrease
st.mk damage decrease slightly
neutral jump HK doesn't combo into st. MP cr. HP anymore, you have to use neutral jump MK now in order to combo
Stun on his SP has been decreased

Well, at least Ryu has received one buff...
His walkspeed is slightly faster from what it seems.

Is Ryu still viable at the current state? Yes, BUT you have to put in a lot of work and it is rly difficult to get wins vs good players.
Capcom took away so many things from Ryu it's kinda sad.

Well, Ryu players will have to adapt and I will be making a Ryu guide soon what Ryu is still capable of, his new tricks and some advanced stuff.
This highlight reel is from the recent Stress Test 3 days ago with all the Ryu nerfs I have just mentioned.

Also just to add. Another major problem with SF and MK being together. Gameplay mechanics. Street Fighter has over the top super moves and then ultra moves. MK has x rays (fatalities don't count as they come after the match). Either way one of them has their system as dominant or they would have to merge it.

No, remember the Capcom VS Snk 1 and 2 games? Each character, whether SF or MK can choose their groove, in other words have the SF groove meter or the MK groove meter (with run button/feature). Also, when you choose the SF groove then all of your characters will use block as holding back or down/back. If you use the MK groove then all characters block with a block button...

Sooo... new boss in SF Vee?

Moves explained:

He's Shadaloo's 2nd in command apparently. His moves poison the opponent

Hmmmm. F.A.N.G reminds me of those kung fu movies with the really tough but weird final boss.

So in short I support it.

Damn, so even Street fighter went the season pass route too smh. My heart says bo but my wallet says Alex

Yes that mixed with the final boss from Iron Monkey if you've ever saw it.

He reminds of the Thin Men from XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within.

His goofy mannerisms killed the creepiness he would have had though.
