Official Street Fighter Thread

Street Fighter has always been a bore to me, no offense to SF fans or anything but to me, this game has always been the king of button mashers. I don't know, maybe it's because I have no skill. But another beef I have with the SF franchise is the rediculous amounts of Street Fighter II remakes, I mean come on!

I got the collector's edition for the PS3.
 
Well, it's official: you have to pay extra for the alternates. Not only that, it's $4 for one of five packs of costumes, so on top of a $60 game, you have to shell out an extra $20 to obtain every alternate that should've already been included. What a load of crap. I don't want Akuma's alternate that bad.

Yeah it does suck. There are only a few i want really bad, Like Chun Li, Balrog, and a couple more. I could just buy 2 packs and get the ones i really want. But if you wait till they are all out, there should be 1 final pack that includes them all for 1000 points. That would save you 600 points, but are you willing to wait that long?

I was going to get the CE, but i thought it would be better to just get the regular version and a 1600 point card with the 20 dollars i would have put towards the CE.
 
Yeah seems like that'd be easy enough with this trick, just would have to end it twice with ultra finishers instead of Fierce Kicks. ;)
 
I heard that to unlock Gouken, you have to beat the game with Akuma. I would totally abuse this, though, since Akuma's my number one guy and you have to beat the game with every damn character to unlock him (again, from what I've heard).

How would you unlock Akuma beating the game with all the characters if you still have to unlock Gouken with Akuma? (sorry I am confiused and havent heard how to unlock the characters yet)
 
Every character but Gouken, rather, including every other unlockable character. So Akuma would be the second to last guy you unlock, with Gouken being the last. IGN has the list under their cheat section.

* Cammy - Beat Arcade Mode with Crimson Viper.
* Fei Long - Beat Arcade Mode with Abel.
* Gen - Beat Arcade Mode with Chun Li.

* Sakura - Beat Arcade Mode with Ryu.
* Seth - Beat Arcade Mode with all of the non-unlockable characters.
* Dan - Beat Arcade Mode with Sakura.

Yeah, apparently using roundhouse kick repeatedly does the trick.

According to GiantBomb.com, all the packs will be released at a discounted 1000 MS points on April 30. I'm not sure what the discounted price will be for PS3 owners.
 
Gouki(Akuma) loosely means Demon Fist
Gouken loosely means Dragon Fist

And someone pointed out that the character Gouki loosely represents Raijin and the character Gouken loosely represents Fujin. If you look at Gouken's attacks you can see the wind and air and for Gouki you can see some electricity, etc.
