Next Gen MK game

Well thats basically common in them type of movies. Some teens go out on some trip whether it camping or something else, and in night they hear creepy noises, they check it out, and they get slashed with creepy music playing. So I guess you can say it about the gore mainly.

Mortal Kombat has a good story line and gameplay (excluding MKA and MKvsDC). Though I don't think it should end right now it has a good life span and top seller. Maybe around a decade or so. The old school fighting games are just more interesting than the new ones. MK, SF, Tekken, and DoA are probably the most interesting. MK10 I do hope to be good and interesting.

SF has a good storyline IMO along with Tekken which on par with MK's. I do like the story in games but I think gameplay is what should matter the most of all.

I think with Shinnok they should make him more convincing of a villain and not be some type of joke this time around like he was in MK4.

Well Quan Chi and Shinnok are past MK and to be honest they are more interesting than the new characters in MKT. Stryker and Sheeva are horrible MK characters.

I never could get into SF storyline much, love the game though. I do like Tekken's storyline, but i think MK's story is better then those two's story. IMO

Oh I agree on shinnok, I hope they do him justice this go around. he's probably gonna be more of that 'magic and manipulative' OP boss type rather than a brute like kahn.

yea i dont favor stryker and sheeva much, but they serve their purpose.

Did you not really like SF story? I think it pretty interesting mostly ones that revolve around the shotos. The rivalry between Ryu and Akuma. And when he kills M.Bison. That pretty badass. Though SF story is not good as MK however. SF movies aren't good either. Especially that legend of Chun Li. Tekken story is one of the best story lines in fighting games probably revolving around the Mishimas like Kazuya and just love the atmosphere of the game and story but I do agree with you that MK storyline is better. MK IMO has the best story of all fighting games. It always interesting and just love the feel to MK.

Yeah probably. I like those type of characters one's who manipulate and working behind the scenes. They should make him really intelligent. He seems like he the type who would be planning stuff ahead of time and being prepared for the worst case scenario.

Yeah those two don't really need to come back though I think Rain should be in the next MK game. He hasn't really been in much MK games.

No not really, I cant get into it, I follow it for a minute until third strike came in and all that. then when SF4 came in, they jumped back to the SF2 era.
I do like Gouki and Ryu's rivalry and I think Gouki is THE definition of BADASS, plus he was HELL fighting when you unlocked him in SSF2.

The live action films are garbage for SF, I solely rely on their animes, they are GREAT! I love SF2 animated movie, SF:Alpha, and the SF2V series! One of the best anime series Ive ever seen. and ive read some of the comics. I did get into some of the comic storylines, but they arent canon to the games' story.

I got into tekken story as well during a time, I think I trailed off during Tekken 5 or 6 once the whole 'Devil Jin' arc started.
I like the atmosphere of tekken too, but yea, I got to give MK the award for best storyline.

I think Shinnok's gameplay is gonna mirror his char, so I dont expect too much brutality with him like with kahn. he's gonna be like the TOP sorcerer char, like an UBER version of quan chi and shang all in one. Im looking forward to seeing how the creators revamp him, i just hope im not in for a disappointment.

I never cared for rain much(character wise0, but his gameplay back in the day was awesome.

MK has the best storyline of all time in fighting games. I agree to that. I really hope they nail the story on this next one. They did it for MK9. Hopefully the same. I'm hoping to see Liu Kang come back as an anti-hero instead of a villain or a good guy.

I'm with Gouki on that one. I don't understand SF and Tekken. Here's a question. Does all(or most) the characters from SF connect to the main storyline? As well in Tekken.

I use to tell myself if the story isn't good, then I don't like the series. Which is why I use not like SF a lot. But my view on that changed. I actually like SOME SF games like SF2 and SF3. And that's about it. I like it because of atmosphere of the those two games.

All of the Tekken characters are connected in some way.

Not all of them are connected to the main story though. It's an interesting balance. Some characters have serious stories and some have goofy ones.

Little known fact, Armor King trained Alex and Roger

I think it'd be interesting to have story mode for MK10 be a mixture of Konquest mode from MKA and MK9's story mode. We can have the characters roam around and have gameplay similar to MKSM and in some fights, it'd be a normal kombat battle.

Well in SF, atleast about half the cast are involved in the main story which is to stop either Bison, Gill or Seth (the Big Bosses) depend on what era in SF you're in.
others have their own desires and seek confrontations with other SFs for baser reasons and some just happen to get dragged into the MAIN story arc sometimes to defeat a common enemy(bison, gill ,seth etc).

Unlike Liu Kang and those guys whose goal from the start is to defeat Kahn and save earth in MK, Ryu and Ken usually get dragged in to fight Bison, its never their "original" goal. Ryu is always on a quest to; either find a good challenge and hone his skills, exploring the world as a hobo, or look for the murderer of his master Gouken(which i believe is the primary backstory they use in Alpha era.) He met and

fought bison near the end of SFA3 and ultimately defeated him, but he came back of course. incomes SF2.

Bison was 'Killed' by Gouki at the end of SSF2

Gouki has fought the best fighters in SF and beat most of them; Oro, Gen, Bison, Gill, did he fight Seth? AND this guy has Reserves! Lol, he does not even go all out into Shin Akuma aka His version of Super Saiyan unless you are worthy of it!

Gouki is the #1 Baddest char in SF. He is the only char I know to make his appearance taking out the MAIN boss in one death move AND its canon! he did the same to Gill as well, though Gill had resurrection.

Well Now that he is Oni Akuma(SSJ2 if you will), there is NO ONE his equal as far I know in SF universe. Did you ever see that fight with Oni Akuma and Asura? did you see how he DA'ed Ryu back into his own timeline!? tossed him aside like a rag doll.

If your a Shoto like Ryu, Ken, Gouki and Gouken, At their best, these guys are borderline 'Dragonball' tiers (not dbZ, but just db). those guys are crazy powerful.

If I can choose who to resurrect for MK10, it'd be these guys!!!

1. Jade
2. Kitana
3. Sindel
4. Kung Lao
5. Sub-Zero (HUMAN ONLY!!!)
6. Liu Kang

The rest should stay dead until the next MK Trilogy of the new timeline!!!

Just a nitpick, Gouki; Asura's Wrath is not canon to SF, Gouki's fights with Gen and Oro were ties...and it appears Oni, if canon, is a tier below shin, since it represents Gouki losing his mind to Satsui no Hado.

Yea I know its not canon to SF, but it was cool to see.

Was Shin Gouki fighting Gen?

Oro, yea ill give you that one.

I always thought Oni was stronger, I dont see why they would down grade the man...unless Shin was just TOO much and they wanted a Mid point with Oni?

YES!!! Gouki is the #1 badass character in SF who is my favorite in SF. He takes on all sort of enemies by himself. So he is the strongest SF character.

Oni is the strongest form he has though in that form no one a match for him though I think Gill might be a match for that form of his.

The story is SF Third Strike is probably has the best SF story. I think it would kool if in like SF5 it takes places after SF III 3rd Strike and maybe perhaps Gouki will have an apprentice kinda like how Gouken have apprentices them being Ryu and Ken.

Know what would be awesome for next MK game? Having taunts and dialogue vs each character like the Injustice clashes.

its a possibility for 'character interaction' intros with certain chars, mainly enemy chars during vs mode.

however you can't have guys like Kitana and Jade or Liu and Kung going all "Lets have a good spar buddy" all 'ken and ryu' like, and then you end up killing them, lol.

so i think char interaction intros will have to be with enemies and arch rivals only, unless its practice mode or something. It would work for Scorpion Vs Sub Zero or Quan chi, Kitana Vs mileena, shang Vs Liu etc.

Personally, the only two characters I'm remotely interested in beyond MK:T are Kenshi and Ashrah. The rest just bore me to death.

Mortal Kombat 9 reset the clock and gave NRS a base to go in a new direction. They need to follow through and continue in that new direction by introducing a new plot and new characters. We're all attached to the classic characters because we grew up with them, but there's no need at this point to just keep bringing them back simply because they can.

Johnny Cage, Sonya, Scorpion, Cyber-Sub, and Liu Kang are the only ones who should remain from MK9. I know, Liu Kang's dead, but I can see him becoming a new villain almost a mile away. Not to mention it would be a fantastic twist for the new direction. Mortal Kombat's fallen hero; their "Darth Vader."

I want new characters that I can invest myself in, not a bunch of rehashes and a few new ones.

And please, NRS, put a good amount of creativity into them and don't give up crap on the level of Havik. The lack of creativity in most of the post-MK:T characters makes the games feel like they were plucked out of bad B-movies.

His concept was more unique and creative than all of the OG cast, most of them being clones or rehashes of stereotypes.Kai, in fact is another prime example, quite an original concept for a character, since when was the last time you heard of a Nepali/African-American ex-military, Shaolin monk? A lot of the post mk3 characters have incredible potential, NRS just needs to be ready to go in that direction. Some other characters I really would like to see are Shujinko, Bo Rai Cho, Li Mei, Reiko, Mavado as they would fit into the MK4 timeline as well though they were introduced later. I would take them over any new characters any day.

I agree as far as Havik goes.
His concept was VERY original.
From the post-MK3 era, Havik, Reiko, Tanya, Fujin, Quan Chi, Sareena, Kenshi and Nitara were the only 8 characters that I really cared about.
As for Kai, I never cared for him and he always came off as just being another Shaolin Monk, to me. Didn't care for him.
Shujinko and Bo Rai Cho I would welcome into MK10, only if they gave those characters an MK9 Kenshi facelift.
No more farting and puking for Bo Rai Cho.
No more signature move stealing from Shujinko.
