Negative Aspects of the Game

Intro and Outro animations before and after the fight get very repetative FAST!!
I wish it was more like SF where You would see your fighter do something different depending on how much health you had at the end of the fight. 1/3rd , 2/3rds, Flawless But its always the same animation.

Are u serious? its badass how they pose after each round and wen they win and wen they do fatality, i mean at least the rounds are continuing instead of restart the screen like in SF.

but negative.. hate the announcer, and so far seeing some demo gameplay on ps3 hope they patch up some of the combos, seem like scorpion can juggle you forever to death
 
I agree with subs slide going under the opponent.Also the buttons for the special moves like subs freeze is a kick button,sure its in the same place but what about scorpions spear,it is high punch and teleport is diff also.we played MK2 on PS3 and know the buttons,this is going to take some getting used to.
 
Oh yes, and one more gripe....

I HATE Scorpion's throw with a passion! The animation just looks dumb and awkward. I hate the look of him 'guiding' the opponent to the ground like a kite that's lost its wind. I almost can't stand to use him just because I hate his throw so much. I didn't like it the first time I saw it on video and I dislike it even more now that I've used it.
 
i never post on here. haha anyway my only problems with this game are with the audio. first of all, i hate the fact that the cyborgs speak english. in mk 3 it used to sound like the robots were saying "happy new years to you all" and "x,y,z" among other weird phrases. i think it should have stayed that way. my only other problem with this mortal kombat is that they don't use samples that sound like 1980's hip hop snare drum hits for punches and kicks like they did in mortal kombat 3. i feel like all the audio in general should have a more of an old school vibe to it.

I don't mind the backthrow, but I agree; his neutral looks a little silly. At least the backthrow animation gives the impression that he gets a bit of momentum going.
 
I find the combos are too tough to break into, and require absolutely precise timing; I need a little bit of leeway in order to pull off anything awesome. This game has some grueling, unforgiving windows of opportunity.

That is what I'm most excited about in the whole game. It really separates people skill-wise. MK games after Trilogy haven't taken much skill at all but from what I've seen MK9 takes quite a bit.

is scorpion's xray the same one they had on videos before?????????????????????????? please tell me its different..
 
During VS game, if you go to options and set the time to OFF, the circle at the top of the screen goes blank. As that is where the time is displayed in seconds. I think they should put an infinity symbol there instead of it just being blank!

Now that is nitpicking, I know ! but the rest of everything is pretty much perfect.
I Just think there should be a cool looking infinity symbol in the blank space.

Oh and one more thing related to gameplay, Im not sure if you slip on subs Ice pool if you land on it.
It looks like you have to get caught in the actual blast to get stuck. It should be slippy when someone lands on it. or not I don't care if its the way it is now.

But add the timer symbol NRS !

Wheres the danger chime and laugh thats been in MK1-3 when you're near death.

The hit sounds don't sound as brutal as they were in MK 2 & 3 especially with uppercuts and the sound of your opponents voice when they're being killed (fatality) or recieving punishment is too low. The only time I can hear the opponent in pain is when Cage does his low blow nut punching move why only with this and not fatalities......kinda silly



Music is WAY too low I can't hear it hopefully u can turn it up in the audio option of the full game but it still needs to be pointed out


Visually the game is EXCELLENT
Audio side of things the game is LACKING SERIOSULY, SERIOUSLY LACKING

Im not entirely sure, but looks like the ground freeze actually welds your feet to the ground in the blast. so there is no slipping as it was before. you just stand there stuck to the ground.

and it goes away so fast im not even positive if I was able to jump on to it while it was still there.

At the time we were just playing, and not trying to test it.

Ill try and figure it out tomorrow.

And yes the danger chime would be great if it was there.
 
The game looks and feels awsome, like some of you had said, the power uppercuts and roundhouses are lacking, the always popular DANGER is missing, some of the special moves are different from mk1,2 and 3. the layout of the controllers are different. The music it was too low and for what i heard the living forest music is the same as mk2, i would rather wanted to be a new one and darker. The classic combos are not in, i tried to pull off the classic Scorpion combo, jump kick, dissapear, spear, uppercuts and nothing, I don't know if i'm too slow but what the hell can wait for the full version. It is insane.

That's strange, I've seen it in the MKast: jump kick, teleport and spear, check it out around 2:40:


The jump kick/spear is also in, but you have to connect with a crouched punch before the spear.
 
xrays are easy to pull off - but they are also easy to block and miss... trust me

the gameplay is great - this game is DEFINATLEY more technical than any other mortal kombat, which is good because that is what tournaments want to see, got to use your dashes - you have to punish moves that they try and make sure you dont keep doing moves that get you punished.

johnnys shadow kick is easily punished if it is blocked, as well as scorpions teleport


the game is amazing - the only SMALL downside is the audio. but even that is good in my opinion.

Loving this game, cant wait for the full thing!
 
Seems to me the music/sound are mostly unfinished in the Demo. You can hardly hear the music during a fight and they don't currently give you any options to adjust the volume of sound effects and music. To me that really kills the presentation in general. Combine that with the fact that we are missing several other key sound effects that are staples to the franchise and it just feels off to me.

That's my only gripe though. Everything else is gameplay tweaks and chances are many of these were already fixed before the demo even arrived considering demos are usually much older builds of the game. Overall I'm happy with it though.
