If Kitana and Kang get revived somehow during the first part of MKX, I could see their offspring happening during the 25 years(before Liu just totally becomes the Big Bad)...and like someone said, maybe their child's lack of aging wont take effect until he reaches a certain age.
You never know, their child might be the main hero in this game...
I have yet to see the main hero yet, and if Liu Kang becomes big bad, someone who is affiliated with him will no doubt be the one to fight him in the end. That's Raiden, or Liu's offspring...or some othernew person related to Liu in some way. IMO

Maybe Rain and Tanya will have a child. If so, I'd like it to be a female who shoots water and fire. I'd also like her to be selfish, bossy, and slutty. It'd fit that evil family perfectly. She should also have some kind of bladed weapon and should be nasty and perverted with her fatalities.

The possibility of a Cage/Sonya relationship, let alone a child being born out of it, has been brewing since the Malibu comics/1995 film. I'm certainly not surprised.

How do you figure? I mean, the idea of Cage and Sonya being the ONLY ones to produce offspring in 25 years is a little ridiculous.
Personally, I hope to see more descendants of past characters. I'd especially love to see the son of Raiden.

Oh, because we want to play a game where we take all the MK9 characters and put them into couples and make them have children? Do you have any idea how shitty that sounds? What other characters have a preexisting or even implied relationship? Liu Kang and Kitana. They are both dead. Nobody else's children should be characters in this game.

I've always wanted to see a son of Raiden. Kid Thunder may have been the spark to my desire, but I certainly don't want a character that reminds me of him. lol
Picture it : Raiden falls in love with a mortal woman and gets her pregnant. The events of the first tournament drags him away from his lover. Due to the unfortunate spiral into chaos that unfolded after the second tournament, he was never really given a chance to go back and care for his woman and child.
In the original timeline, his very young son was discovered by Shinnok and hunted down. But Shinnok becomes aware of the timeline being screwed with and instead uses Raiden's son (2.0) as a weapon. He takes the young boy and raises him in secrecy, filling his heads with lies about his father. One being that Raiden saw his son as a threat to his position and killed him before the boy could mature and properly harness his power. 25 years into the future, Shinnok reveals Raiden's son to the world.
The End
Lol I don't know. Just a little something I was hoping for since the announcement of character descendants.

We aren't saying we're taking ALL of the MK9 characters and making them into couples. You're right, that is idiotic. But did Cassie turn out crappy? Not at all. To rule out ANY other couples and their children is downright close-minded.
Do you know the future? We never expected Cassie, but look how good she turned out; and you never know. This is A NEW STORY after all. There could be NEW relationships established in the 25 year timespan and the characters could have kids by the end of it because the NEW story of MKX is branching off of the NEW story introduced in MK9. The point of the matter is you don't know and also that the story can go wherever it wants now. And for you to say that it is "shitty" is invalid.

i think what some people mean is that these characters are not the only people that exist in their worlds so if there were descendants it wouldn't have to be two characters on the MK9 roster, like if Kabal knocked up some chick that thought burnt men were hot and then the child inherits some of his abilities and then is trained by him. I also feel that Cassie Cage works because they had a love interest, they are alive, it made sense, and they are from the same race of people.

The only one that makes sense, IMO, is Cassie Cage given that Sonya and Johnny are mortals.
That being said, Ed Boon also hinted at Johnny and Sonya coming back in the GiantBomb interview when he talked about the possibility of family members doing fatalities on one another (regarding Cassie Cage, 4:10 mark of the GiantBomb video on the IGN front page).
He also hinted at returning characters being "aged" in MK X, which could also mean 50 year old Sonya and Johnny, given that they are surviving MK9 mortals and given the slip about "family members doing fatalities on each other."
