Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

ok, so there is still much to revise the sounds and phrases, principlamente the phrase "Fight" and especially "Flawless Victory", which still sounds very strange rs

The Rise of The Triad remake included two sound sets. Their remade sound effects and the original 1995 sound effects. I don't know if MUGEN supports that sort of thing but that's something that might be a good idea to look into.

Hi guys, this is my very first post and I simply registered to let you guys know that we all appreciate you putting in all this hard work (without pay)

Please know that It has not gone unnoticed, fans from several forums are also discussing your project and we just can't wait until it's finally finished.

(and who knows maybe warner bros might take notice once its done and commission you guys to work on the sequel?.....if they're smart they'd do it...lol)

Anyway, I have one small request, but please feel free to ignore it because you guys working on this project are frikkin Gods as far as Im concerned, and we're simply not worthy of your presence.

but anyhow, ever since the original MK movie was released in 1995 I've always hoped and wished that a mortal kombat game would eventually incorporate the movies theme music into it's soundtrack, yet game after game it's never happened.

I understand you guys are out to recreate this classic so you don't want to change things too much but wouldn't it be kinda cool if this played during the end credits after the last boss is defeated? no? yes? maybe so? Just a thought

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS, WE'RE ALL PATIENTLY WAITING UNTIL THE DAY ITS RELEASED

(BTW, you guys should consider setting up a paypal for donations, plenty of us would gladly donate to this cause because you guys definitely deserve to be getting paid for it)

LMAO, I love it

and uKER, you're appreciated also, without your knit picking the game wouldn't look as awesome as it does now.

We as fans are the winners in all of this thanks to all of you guys

btw I'd personally paypal you guys 39.99 when the finished project is released, just let me know where to send it to. (and everyone else who downloads it should do the same)

No no no. Exchange of money would definitely get us shut down and possibly worse. No money will be received in any way for this game.
The sentiment is very much appreciated though. :)

i mean, i understand you guys can't sell it but theres no way you can accept donations just for being so cool?

it doesn't have to have anything to do with the game.

Just place the paypal link next to the download just in case people feel the need to drop something in. Sorta Like those donation boxes you see at 7-11

The issue is WB could shut us down for any reason. The best thing going for us legally is that we've kept money far away from our goals. If ANY money were to exchange hands in connection with this game WB would come down HARD. Its really just not worth the risk, considering we could in fact be sued by WB for receiving money for a project based on their IP.

So please, lets leave all talks of payment. The sentiment is awesome, but it just isn't an option. And since we're all fans of the property its quite all right with us. The finished product is our reward. :)

k, I can dig it. We wouldn't want any of that to happen to you good people.

with that said I'm still coming out of my pockets, even if I'm the only one that pays... you guys could just use it as pizza money.

Warner Bros can bite me

you guys deserve it (just shoot me a pm when its done and where to send it to)

in my opinion the money is rolling midway / warner can bring a lawsuit and veto the bill, and better leave it without involving values!

Thanks for that. Quick backstory, I had a meeting with WB and I was blown off. We aren't important enough if we can't generate 5 million in profit for them. Even that is barely a blip on their radar. They could file an injunction against us on the grounds
that we attempted to profit from their IP. However right now unless the game is completed, we are litterly not worth their time.

It makes me sad. We will complete this one day. On that day I will receive a threat to cease distribution of this project and I will of course have to comply. Hopefully the files "leak" on torrent sites and it will have the chance to be played by millions of fans. From what I understand, Netherrealm is intentionally ignoring this project so that we aren't shutdown. If they acknowledge what a good job we are doing then we will suffer the wrath WB lawyers jumping down our throats. This is why this project still only exists on this thread and is generally secret. This also why we don't have many vidoes advertising what we are doing. This is why interloko, bleed and I are the only ones with an alpha playable version of the game. If WB were interested in licensing this to us, then everyone could make money and more people would get the chance to play it on their system of choice.

Unfortunately we are more an annoyance than a business opportunity for them since we couldn't possibly make millions of dollars in profit for them.
Hope that explains the history a bit.

Regarding the question, whether to push forward or to polish as much as possible now, well, initially my craving told me to just push forward and finish this, I want to play the game as quickly as possible!! But when I think about it some time, I realize that I rather prefer Uker's stance:
To polish the game and every aspect of it NOW, when it is still possible without too much pain than later, when everything should be done and then you realize you have to go back to the beginning and edit basic stuff, which would be an absolute annoyance and very hard to pull off. I strongly believe, that without Uker's constant nitpicking, the results wouldn't be in the perfect condition they are now. Of course arq_hawkin's already present awesome skills are the deciding factor in here, but it is Uker's crtics that enabled him to transcend himself and outdo himself so his skills have skyrocketed even more which will help him in his future works.
Better to get some things really finished now than hack apart the whole game, when it should already be done.
The waiting isn't that much of a deal to me when you have an awesome product as a result.
Note, that I don't wanna choose one side over the other here, it's just my honest opinion and I had to get this off my chest.
By the way, I would also gladly donate, but if it's too dangerous, then it's probably wise to leave it.

It's all relevant to the amount of work it takes to fix it. For instance fixing static background graphics, character portraits or endings/UI graphics is much easier than tweaking character animations. So when it comes to the characters such as Liu Kang, we should pick it apart because pain endured now is lessened later on. And to uKER's point, who knows where we will be a year from now? Will Bleed still be involved? Will Arq be fed up? Hopefully not, but at least we can say what is done looks great. As for fixing the Ninja's I don't think it will be possible for awhile if at all. It is just a huge amount of work.

Yeah, and unfortunately this isn't surprising in the least. This is exactly what I expected even back when we were trying to get our assets legally unified with Cal. Basically for me, this project has/will be always be it's own reward, and I don't need WB/Netherrealm's sanctioning for that.

And the internet is a great thing. If the game get's finished I've no doubt it will have a long, happy life bouncing around anonymously.

Oh, and here is yet another update to the MK 1 Character Select Theme. Version 80 billion. XD

http://www.mediafire.com/?7j57a5xhavv4c5c

Hope to here some opinions from you guys on this one. It's yet another loop. I'm actually liking this one, for what that's worth. haha

So yeah, Cal, Luna, any and everyone else please let me know if it rocks, sucks, or mehs. :) One day this track should get finished.

Whoa, this one sounds really different to your last.
Much "fuller", with more bass.
I really like it.

I do reiterate however what I said about the you-know-which instrument not being supposed to do F F D# D# F# F#.
It's always F F D# D# F D# and occasionally F F D# D# F.

Again, if you could change that you'd make my day.
I don't mind if you make it always F F D# D# F D# and forget about the variation.
This one I ask as a favor, since as I told you, that's the song I always found the most memorable in the whole game.
