Mortal Kombat HD Remix with MUGEN

I love it, to me... it's just perfect, there's like a male voice chorus saying (HOOOOO), I don't know if it was there before but I really like it...

There IS a low synth choir going now. Thought it might be fun to add that in to add some mystique and to just fill out the mix.

@Uker I will take another look at the mid melody. For YOU. XD

The whole mood of the song feels incredible.
It just feels right.
I just need that single note changed in that sequence.
Search F F D# D# F F and replace to F F D# D# F D#. Pretty please? :)

The thing is, I always paid more attention to that synth than to the main one.
Just take a look at the original and you'll see that's the way it is.

Again, thanks for your patience, man. :)
I really appreciate your work, especially if it is for doing this particular song justice, which I think you have largely achieved.
I honestly was worried it wouldn't happen.
Given how much I love it, I was afraid I'd end up hating any attempt to imitate it.

Calactyte,
yeah, as for fixing and polishing, I meant it mostly for the character models and animations, since I think that they take up the most work to do and when they are done, then I believe the main part of the game is done, and the rest will be easier, but I may be wrong here, since I'm no expert in this area. From what I've seen, the backgrounds and the music seem also be done, and from my view don't require any more polishing. But that may be because to me the models and animations are of main importance, all the rest is just icing on the cake, others may put more importance on the rest than me.
And I really hope and keep my fingers crossed, that this project will go on, as I said, when exactly it's finished is not that important to me, main thing is that it will be done, but I haven't been following this project for very long, so perhaps that's the reason why my patience hasn't run out yet. As for the Ninja's, I also don't think they require any more fine-tuning, they look awesome already, I just think that their heads are a bit small in comparison to the other characters, but I think/hope that this can be solved easily by simply scaling them up, but that's just my opinion coming from my meagre modeling experiences.
Anyway, thanks for the response and good luck to you!

I guess that vocal is replacing the echoing electric sound that hit every 8 beats, and it's not bad at it.
I think however that it would help if you reduced the falloff in each echo.
I don't think I can really hear it beyond the second echo most of the time, and I'd expect to be able to hear at least four of them.
This one is just a suggestion, I do not feel the urge to beg for it. XD

Unfortunately we are more an annoyance than a business opportunity for them since we couldn't possibly make millions of dollars in profit for them.
The sad part is, there is probably more time and effort put into this project than there was in the MK Kollection released earlier this year(?). This will no doubt be an infinitely better product, yet it won't get the recognition it deserves.

Curious to know how much WB made from that last compilation release.

@Justin
Finally had some time to enjoy music on my headphones and man... I got to words to describe your latest theme: ORIENTAL BADASSERY. I think that says it all. I have it on repeat as we speak. Amazing. I see it's still not finished, but I wouldn't stray too much from this as it's great.

Also, Justin & uKER a.k.a. music fellas, have you heard music from the new Killer Instinct game? I can't stop listening to Jago's theme, it's got that MK1 wibe to it, to me at least:

Man, that game's music is out of this world.
Although I never was any good playing KI, I did drool in awe watching the attract mode at my local arcade when they first brought it in and put it in a cabinet with like a 50-inch flat screen (at a time when all games had 20 inchers at best) and the speakers blasting that main tune.

Then I never owned the game, but managed to get the soundtrack CD from some guy that had bought the SNES game.
And I didn't know the guy Justin mentions, but I did cream my pants when I first heard what they did with the main theme and the character selection song (both here, char-sel at 2:27).
That's like the definition of sleek meets badass, which is what KI was to me.

Not feeling the new game too much though.
Looks too much like a SFIV mod, but we'll have to wait and see.
Love how they kept the announcer though.

The combination of electric guitars mixed with eastern typical instruments really seems to do it for me.
I'm also a sucker for low-BPM songs and marked low-pitched instruments (be it percussion, bass lines or just low pitched like the guitar in the KI theme).

^I was sceptical towards the new KI too, but with each new build I like it more and more what I see. They're actually listening to the fans, and have implemented many things requested so far. From the guys who played it, they all say it feels just like KI and it looks fantastic (youtube apparently doesn't do it justice, it has to be seen in all it's 60FPS HD glory) As for the music, I absolutley love it! It also changes depending on what you do with the character;

Yeah, KI players seem happy with the way it's turning out.
I really never figured out the mechanics, so I only go by aesthetics and the switch from glossy to matte kinda makes it non-familiar for me.
That said, I do hope the game succeeds.

about the new KI: the game is really amazing, the dynamics is exellent and the combos seem incredible. yet not I liked the part graphically, in the case of a composition generally very polluting, causing some discomfort between the foreground and the second plant (background), is as if we were using the full time 3D glasses, discomfort.

Yeah, there might be a bit of that.
Sceneries too chaotic and sharpness everywhere causing lack of separation between layers.
It probably isn't so bad in full res and full motion though.

OK this is perfect. It sounds like an improvement over the original! As one who was never feeling the other versions, I would be happy to call this finished. This sounds incredible. Really really impressive. You nailed the drum sounds.

Hope to here some opinions from you guys on this one. It's yet another loop. I'm actually liking this one, for what that's worth. haha

So yeah, Cal, Luna, any and everyone else please let me know if it rocks, sucks, or mehs. :) One day this track should get finished.[/QUOTE]

I've been following this thread for a very long time now, and I must say everything looks great. I may be the only one saying this, but I think for the character select theme, it should go back to the tempo of the original (non-MAME) arcade version.

Oh, and here is yet another update to the MK 1 Character Select Theme. Version 80 billion. XD

So you're suggesting that MAME and the actual arcade play at different speeds?
That's a new one. XD

Just in case, no, they don't.

^I think some versions of mame32 played MK slower than on the actual arcade. Maybe it was something with the settings but I remember increasing the emulation speed to 1.05 or so get it working like the arcade
