That doesn't mean they belong. That's just why they are in the games.
You know what "guest" means, right?
You know what "guest" means, right?
Jason is much as a fighter as anyone on the MK roster. He swings swords and punches people in the face. That's what fighters do.
Warriors do killing for a living. It's their profession. Mass murder is their job description, and Jason is up for that job.
Alien, or specifically Xenomorph, is a bio-weapon, not a "fighter/warrior". Courtesy of Scott.
What else is there to type? Mortal Kombat is about punching people in the face and performing a fatality, ALL of the guest characters demonstrated to do this well. Doesn't really matter, because whether you like it or not, the Guests WILL stay.
That doesn't mean they belong. That's just why they are in the games.

The video game hasn't evolved, the greed of people has evolved into a new, sad stadium.
He does that in MKX because NRS made him into a fighter, but he's not normally a fighter prior to being in MK.
That's the point that you're skipping over.
I'm not debating that NRS can't make horror guests into the atmosphere of MK, but rather from their origin (to me) some of them don't feel as they would belong in that atmosphere of fighters / warriors / hunters like how Alien, Predator and Kratos feel like they are more in line with that same atmosphere.
Alien fits into the "hunter" category, as does Predator in the hunter / warrior category.
They are skilled hunters and warriors who go up against people with guns and are fighting against people who are trying to stop them.
Yes, Mortal Kombat is about fighting characters, but certain characters don't fell (to me) as if they really fit with the atmosphere of fighters / warriors / hunters.
Again, despite what NRS does with an MK guest character, a serial killer / murderer =/= a fighter / warrior.
Yes, guests will likely stay in MK games (I agree with you 100%), but I don't see what that has to do with the discussion at hand.
The discussion ins't whether or not guests will continue to be in MK games, but rather how the classification of some guests sets them apart from other guest characters.
Guests are the top selling DLC in MK games, but that's not the point of what we were discussing.
Please stay on topic.
Not necessarily, yes and yes. People love Guest characters, Ed Boon made it clear. The video game has moved on, see any game after MK9...Guests are here to stay. I think you should just chill and stop being so guestphobic!Guest Characters are in the game because of greed, easy money and to lure in more people.
Alien's a bio-weapon. Take your own advice and stop skipping points.
You have mercenaries, killers, wannabe martial artists, movie stars, shao lin monks, four fcking armed half-dragon half-humans, military, zombies, elementals, cyborgs, robots, magicians, aliens, reptiles...And yet deranged psychos, mass murderers don't fit, simply because they're guests? I don't follow this logic.
Despite what Alien was created as, they are hunters / warriors fighting against people with guns, and thus at war with them.Alien fits into the "hunter" category, as does Predator in the hunter / warrior category.
They are skilled hunters and warriors who go up against people with guns and are fighting against people who are trying to stop them.
Yes, do you know what "belongs" means? Considering the last free schooling you've received, I wouldn't go into this territory if I were you...
Since you like semantics...
Schooling means you'd teach me something new I didn't know, which wasn't the case.
Guest means that they are welcomed into the house, but are expected to leave after the visit is over, as this is not their home.
Belong means that this is their home, the place where they belong to. Which already excludes the guest characters.
Come on, Xenon... you can do better than that. Or maybe you can't...
Yes, of course Ed Boon said that, he's getting rich over the backs of simple people that want simple slasher icons in an unrelated game.
I don't mind a few guests, as long as they are all optional buys, and not wasting the roster in the vanilla game.
If Jason is your favorite character, you have no buziness in Mortal Kombat.
Main Roster, then I have a problem with them. I also happen to hate Greed, the only deadly sin of the 7 that isn't within me.

Looks like solid fighting to me. But hey, they're only being put for fatalities...And not because people want to beat the shit outta others by using characters that they like, in an MK setting...You keep telling yourself that.![]()
Spelling has something to do with the country a person is born, not with a game and opinion. If you can't read past my simple spelling mistakes, you are a retard. But I get the feeling you are just a simple troll that likes to show his muscles.
You're just proving my point.
The guest characters weren't created for Mortal Kombat. Hence why they are guests.
Thanks Xenon.
People have also wanted other non-horror guests in MK games, but Boon and company won't put them in because the people who created characters don't want them to be killed off and maimed in a game that has fatalities, so YES, the fact that those guests can be killed off without the creators giving 2 turds does mean a lot.
Hell, they even had to animate Kratos differently in MK9 when Fatalities were done on him, because Sony Santa Monica didn't want their precious creation defiled in such ways.
Again, those horror characters weren't originally created as fighters, warriors or hunters, and if you're going to use that cross-over movie as your example of "fighters," then you'd better be ready to back-peddle on your argument of Alien (aka the Xenomorph) not being a "fighter" with the whole AvP cross-over, as well.
Because if that's a fighter, to you, then my point still stands that Alien and Predator are fighters / warriors.
