Mortal Kombat 11 General Discussion Media Thread

I've heard Spawn's name so much when it comes to these games. I'm pretty fatigued on the guy. I'm sure he'll look incredible, but the obscene amount of "SPAWN IN MORTAL KOMBAT/INJUSTICE" clickbait on youtube has made the idea of him pretty offputting for me now. I've heard his name way too many times in the past 7 years
 
Sure but considering he was already in Soul Calibur I was hoping for someone different. Maybe Luthor Strode

As far as what he can offer to the story.. A lot of things. But as much as I want a great story with great character development, the current story mode structure kind of hinders that. So I have to separate how a character plays compared to how important they are in the grand scheme of things.

Unfortunately I don't see Havik having a role in the main story. But there's always DLC. I hope he, Fujin and Sareena make it this time. Those three are my most wanted that weren't playable in MK9 or MKX.

I’m not saying that Kronika bringing him back would be a bad move on her part.
Story-wise it makes sense and I’m 100% with you on that.

I’m saying that Shao Kahn being a character that you fight against in story mode or via the klassic arcade ladder as a sub-boss would piss off a lot of people, who would then (rightfully so) call out NRS for selling “on-disc” DLC, just like NRS did with Goro.
They got a ton of shit for doing that with MKX, as they should have.
NRS doesn’t want that kind of bad press again, and it’s likely why they didn’t make Darkseid a sub-boss for Injustice 2, and also won’t with Shao Kahn.
Putting in a sub-boss / character then charging people extra to unlock said sub-boss / character doesn’t look good for them as it harkens to the bullshit that Capcom did a few games back.

Yeah, I agree with you on that. I pre ordered, but I feel people who didn't wouldn't like, that is fair from this point of view.

I think they went with Goro because of the MK4 tribute, so they probably took the risk, and they also got fire on them.

Still, that rumor of Geras being sub boss. He's nice, but I only like two kinds of sub boss: huge characters or cheap normals. I guess they might be doing the cheap normal this time, I wonder how cheaper Kronika will be.

That's the only little bit of me, except story, that would be ok with Kahn as sub. But it's really unfair tho, I hope they find the creativity to put him in the best way for all.

Yeah, but that over 15 years ago in a T rated game. People want Spawn in a fighting video game that is M rated.

I wouldn't either. Like I said, he has some potential, but they don't really run with the potential of a lot of characters that they have as is. But I would definitely be cool with DLC.

I agree about Fujin and Sareena as well. I'm extremely surprised that Fujin hasn't made it yet.

He isn't fond a wind god that no one has this powers. He isn't fond of a prince with water powers. He isn't fond of Havik and Drahmin and many others. But he is fond of a regular Soldier who has guns like Jacqui

Well, I can see two out of those characters mentioned might not be his taste. I think it comes down to the story he is trying to tell and he thought well, we don't need this characters so why put them in the first place or something like that. While I have never been a Rain fan, I do feel the pain the fans are feeling especially after the MKX debacle of him not being playable despite appearing in the story mode. Who knows, he might actually be in the game.

The fact that they are bringing Jacqui back again is probably an indication they have something special for her. If not then it would be a waste of character slot. Still have to wait to see gameplay before making any conclusions.

By the way, Kai deserves another chance.

More like WB Games isn't fond of their fans, as evidenced by the fact that Fujin was near the top of fans' KP2 wish lists and he got shafted in favor of 3 non-canon characters, two of whom are guests. That's enough evidence to prove that WB hates the fans.
