Mortal Kombat 11 General Discussion Media Thread

Nah, Reptile looks better without looking like a clone-ninja wearing green. Even then there's probably going to be some classic skin where he looks like human.

Anything but making him butt-fücking-naked. What were they thinking...

When did they ever do that?

I wonder if the Switch version will get some cool content or not? MKT for the N64 and MKA for the Wii did have Khameleon. Maybe the Switch version will have outfits of different Nintendo characters that you can use similar how Tekken Tag Tournament 2 did (For example, Kung Jin can have Link's clothes that you can attach for him).

Kraken outfit was a direct reference to Creature from Black Lagoon. Just a fun, noncanon costume. No other way they could've done it

I wouldn't mind if the Kombat kids are either NPC or killed. Just seems so useless. I was on board with the idea when I first heard about it way back but just seems like a waste now. I'd much rather have their parents/cousin in and them out so much cooler characters could return taking their spot.

And I feel Boon was debunking the leak saying "real roster". There's obviously going to be some truth to the fake roster (Scorpion, Raiden, Shao Kahn) but sounds like "real" roster is going to be much better.

CabooseXBL made a video stating one of these three: Baraka, Kabal, Nightwolf were confirmed to him by Boon himself. Very interesting.

Anyways, who else is convinced Noob Saibot will be in MK11 based on the demand since MKX?

I do believe Noob Saibot is gonna be back this time. He is a character that already got his vacation, time to be back.

I'd rather have characters like Kung Lao, Goro, Jax, sit out this one. Kitana is a character that I believe she should have been out last game, but now she's Empress, I think she is a must for MK11. Baraka could stay dead for a while, I think Nightwolf might have more chances of returning, but if so, I'd rather have him saved, not evil.

If it means characters like Jax, Sonya and Johnny Cage sitting out for a game, then I’m fine with at least Cassie and Jacqui being in.
Kenshi is Boon’s favorite character, so he’ll likely have a main roster slot, but I still liked Takeda and mained his Ronin variation, so I’d like to see him back as well.

I wonder when people will stop whining and crying about the choice of music for the reveal. I swear every Mortal Kombat post I've seen since the reveal it's just been "whine whine whine". Gamestop posted about how Spawn might have a chance to be a guest for this game, and majority of the comments are more about the music rather than the choice of guest that could come to this game.

It may not be as annoying to see as the Diablo/Blizzcon phone joke whine, but it's getting up there. And my god that joke is so dead right now.

Video game enthusiasts love to complain about anything that doesn't cater to their personal tastes.

Beyond some wild speculation, there really isn't much to talk about at this point. I think people will get over it once the next bit of media is released. Personally, I didn't care for the music choice for both MKX and MK11 reveal trailers, but constantly harping about it is petty in the grand scheme of things. Lots game trailers have music that don't reflect their final product.

And? They have every right to do so. Maybe NRS will take note.

I thought the music choice was shit. Some guy mumbling garbage with no passion and the most monotonous beats. No wonder a lot of people were pissed.

What I do find hilarious about this entire ordeal is morons trying to make this a "ur just raycisst!!" issue.

The goal of every videogame publisher is to sell more copies of their game than ever before. The music was clearly a marketing move by WB picked to appeal to the younger crowd of teenagers who listen to ''artist'' like lil pump and 21 savage. Mumble rap is all the rage right now. WB is just trying to get in on the action. I find it so odd that its 2019 and people still don't understand how marketing works.

Wtf netherrealm, 100$ for the premium edition??!! Just to one year later release the same game for half of this price??!!! Wtf???!!!

I'd like to see photos of what REAL INSTRUMENTS and recording equipment (including DAW plugins) were used in that music so we can determine whether or not it's even worthy of being called "music".

Tell me how that worked out for all those other companies so far, that followed the trends? There is a bad marketing and there is good marketing. People being pissed about MK trailer is completely understandable. Not only that "song" was a monotone mumble, but it was one of the laziest edits I have seen. Song is literally just slapped on. I put more work in 40 minutes, than that piss poor edit.
We are witnessing one of the most, if not THE MOST brutal cinematic fight to date. Scorpion vs Raiden. Using ancient martials arts to tear each other down, and we got a "song" that...

Run that 90 with the drum attached (Drum)
You a shit talker, we got guns for that (On God)
Tryna fist fight, boy, you dumb for that (Stupid)
You gon' get a bullet in yo' lung for that (Stupid)
Draco get to kickin' like Liu Kang (21)
F&N on me in the Mulsanne (Straight up, straight up)
Glock 19 and a blue flame (Straight up)
I was strapped when I slid inside your boo thang (On God)
21 immortal, we will never die (21)
Loyal to my brothers (Yeah), I'll never lie (Straight up)
Call me bird dog 'cause I cheat and I'm fly (Straight up)
And I love winnin', I'm upset if it's a tie
If you ever try to go against the gang (21)
We gon' drop

There is one mention of Liu Kang. Ok. Cool. Very "relatable" to the topic. The rest is:

"Bullet to the lung" "Glock 19" and a freaking "Mulsanne" which is (for those that don't know) a luxury car "Bentley Mulsanne".
What does ANY of this have to do with what we are watching?

I remember being surprised by MKX trailer music choice, but that one at least made sense. Both speed, energy and lyrics made sense. It didn't feel detached. The song literally described what is happening in the trailer, in neutral fashion.

"It is marketing". Then do a proper f%cking marketing, not half assed shit. Mediocre stuff has to be called out. Standards have to be upholded if they want the money. We already are plagued by companies dropping half assed, asset flip, unfinished games. (BFV, Fallout 76, ATLAS, etc).

How about WE DON'T stop talking, so shareholders/dev would know, that half assed shit doesn't roll with us?

Now. I know this is just a trailer. But after 2017-2018 I have become very skeptical. Audience gives an inch, and their take it 100 miles. If WB is so keen on following trends, then what will stop them from including some "trendy" shit in a game as well? So kids could relate more!

I mean seriously. It is so stupid. Numerous companies showed, that if they just do their thing (God of War, Spider Man, A Way Out), and don't follow some shitty trends, they make great games. After all. Games are supposed to be this artistic vision, which we players experience. It is a ride that takes us to places unknown, to new experiences. Not show us the shit we see everyday. And trailer is supposed to be an invitation to that journey. Gives us a taste of the new upcoming experience. Not show us the trends. Thank you, but we have Trending tab for that shit. I want to see their vision, not what other kids like.

We will never get that since computers are not real instruments.
