Mortal Kombat 11 General Discussion Media Thread

Wonder if this means premium skins from Injustice are coming back. MK doesn't have a fraction of the characters DC has tho. Kinda hard to imagine who could be a premium skin except for Frost, Kintaro and maybe human versions of the cyborgs. Maybe they'll do some noncanon "from another timeline" stuff like robot Scorpion or Inferno Takeda. Just really complicated costumes that can't be edited with gear.

This game gets more and more interesting

I think Cassie is the "must" to return, at the least. She's the current champion, and I do hope they give her a badass looks and skills, more independent even tho Johnny's power lies within her.

When it comes to Takeda, in a possible tag team, or even only story matters, if Kenshi returns, he could be nice.

If Jacqui returns, I think she could be on her father's place, and while Kung Jin was nice to play in some ways (actually my brother even left Mileena to spam with him lol), I wouldn't care if he doesnt come back. As I said, Cassie is the only "must".

Unfortunately, I think these 4 are still too connected, so all of them may appear.

I don't despise any, but would rather see Cassie return instead of Ferra/Torr.

If most new characters come back then there is going to be little room for brand new or returning characters unfortunately. I think it was always a trend in previous MK games that those characters that debuted in a game would not return in the direct sequel except just a few of them (MK4 or DA are the best examples)...

This is my concern as well. If NRS adds a bunch of new characters for mk11 plus brings back most of the new cast from mkxl than that means the chances of characters returning from mk9 (Shao khan excluded ) are almost non existent. It will be interesting to see how NRS balances this out.

I'd say only Takeda and Cassie are important Kombat Kids. Takeda is a big part of Scorpion's story now.

If they going to bring back the kids back, then it means their parents need to take a seat. That's at least 4 (Sonya, JC, Kano, Jax) slots for other characters that aren't clones.

I really don't see the point of Kano's son being a playable character. What could he possibly do that nobody else does?

Out of the newcomers in MKX, the only one I really wouldn't mind if they sat this one out is Ferra/Terr.

I also think Skarlet should return. She was the first newcomer since the reboot(not counting CSZ), yet they didn't bring her back in MKX. She was a blood themed character and MKX would have been a great opportunity to make her a full character and actually give her a voice/personality(since none of the DLC characters in MK9 had one) and expand on the blood theme.

Well, we saw Skarlet in the comics and she was pretty lame. I'd rather have Tremor instead. Great design, fun gameplay, no cringe voice lines (ok maybe a few), fatalities and brutalities that didn't suck, and an epic ending.

I don't think anyone should be worrying about who gets in over someone else since we don't even know the final roster count or frankly anything about the design philosophy of the roster this time around (besides some obvious returning kombatants).

After MKX, they could really just throw names in a hat and put the first 20 names they pull in the game, the second 8-10 as DLC, and just create 6-8 new characters with 2 of them being DLC. MKX already proved that they can make character A survive without interacting with character B (Tanya didn't need the Brotherhood, Kotal didn't need Shao Kahn, Ermac didn't need Kenshi, Jin didn't need Lao, Mileena didn't need Kitana, Scorpion didn't need Subzero except in the flashback). They can also make new believable alliances and rivalries as they did in the comics (Reiko siding with Mileena, Skarlet, and Havik, Kano facing Subzero, Quan Chi manipulating Havik and relating Blood Magik with Nitara, ect.) I'd rather they take the least interesting characters possible and allow them to interact with one another to get people more interested in them.
