Cage and Sonya both met for the first time in MK9 storyline as well. And Liu Kang is Liu Kang...so he's not staying dead, nor I believe will Kitana. They may very well both get revived in this game or one in the future. They ARE going to be back, thats for sure.

If the rumor is true of a kang design for MKX, then something is already planned for Kang in this game. Now is it little or big? idk.
Im guessing the latter considering who we're talking about.

Even if Kang and Kitana were to be absent from this "next generation", I can see Boon possibly giving them some kind of child to carry on their legacy like with Cassie and her folks. If Cage and Sonya cease to be main chars anymore, we have Cassie who is a mix of them both.

I can see the same happening with Kit and Liu. Now, how that fuker would age is another matter...lol
 
... and that Kitana will have to convince the evil Liu Kang to stop destroying the world, eventually making him kill himself as that will be the only option. Thus being left with the infant that will carry on Liu's name.

I was PISSED when that leak happened. Not only because that's how I found out most of my favorites died, but because some selfish SOB decided that he would rather break open the Cookie Jar and spill the contents out in public!

How would Kitana and Liu Kang even have a child in MKX? They didn't have the opportunity to screw around in MK9 and both ended up dying at the end. They better not cheapen MK9 by having both Kitana and Liu alive and well in MKX.

As for there being no Sheeva - I expected that. I doubt we'll ever see her again unless they do another Trilogy-like game.

I hope the Reptilian character is Chameleon. I feel that he deserves another go.

YEah the story mode leak was the one that pissed me off the most. The only leak I wanted to see was what characters were in and their bios. Not story mode >.> I don't have the will power to stop reading it lol. I remember when the cut scenes came out, my brother had to cut off the computer and get me away from it. Smart choice of him,

Actually...they might have...

If you noticed during the MK3 parts of MK9. Remember the temple scenes where all the forces of good were gathered? There were a few of those scenes, but in the temple scene before the one where Liu and Raiden depart, Everyone was there EXCEPT Liu Kang, Kitana and Jade...

They were not at that meeting...
 
I honestly thought Kitana and Liu would've been the first to conceive and not Cage and Sonya....

Even if they did have sex, Kitana was still killed by Sindel. Making the situation even worse, with not only Kitana dying, but also her unborn child. Also, what the hell is she doing running around fighting with a bun in the oven...

Just because Johnny and Sonya have a kid, that doesn't mean everyone else is gonna have children. lol And it's especially weird talking about two dead characters having a kid.

Yea Sindel fuked up.

Im not saying everyone is gonna or even should have kids, but SonyaXJohnny and KitXLiu relationships have been established for a long time in MK and I feel they should both have offspring chars if we are indeed headed into a new generation of MK and we are about to let the old guys go.

Should they have a kid? Maybe. But that opportunity was missed the second they killed off Kitana. At this point, they shouldn't have a child. That would be way too forced and obnoxious.

They could always say that the edenian gestation period is fewer than the human (if it is 1 week or two, it works).

But that would still be forcing a child into the story. It's like, why was there no mention of this child by ANYONE in MK9? lol It just doesn't work. They would have to pull some brilliant writing out of their a**es to make me buy into it. And NRS isn't known for their amazing story telling abilities.
 
People are obsessed with babies? Really, why? There's no reason for Kitana and Liu Kang to have a child at this point. From a storyline point, both their deaths were great in MK9. I'm pretty sure Raiden will try to rescue the souls that were taken by Quan Chi anyway.
