If you consider MK4 as 3D Era (for the record, I don't; I still lump that with the previous 3 due to the fighting mechanics and the fact that it was in the arcades), Quan Chi and Shinnok are not horseshit. After MK4, only Kenshi, Bo Rai Cho, and Havik are not horseshit.

can't, poll allows a max of ten. I had to eliminate some who do have some demand too, even if it's much lower than those listed in the poll. most notable from these are:

Ashrah - potential there, too low demand
Hotaru - I don't see why, but some do see potential in him, also low demand
Bo Rai Cho - excluded because five year olds won't play the game for the vomit stuff, despite so many saying his story role is important. he can stay there forever and never playable again hopefully
Li Mei - a bit of demand, probably too low overall though, perhaps too vanilla and hence sareena is in the list instead
Noob Saibot - due to cage's stunt double
Sindel - probably wouldn't sell well / low demand
skarlet - possibly the girl that attracts the most from the ones left available, kind of shut down by NRS in tweets
frost - weird higher demand, but gently shut down by NRS in various tweets
sektor - classic favourite, only left out because I had ten slots and more people seem to want Cyrax instead

Pointless?

Smoke would possibly be the single best choice for DLC round 2 in terms of sales, and especially if they gave him an updated cyborg look as his alt. costume. That's a character that both hardcore fans and casuals would both snap up immediately; there are few remaining characters that applies to.

Are there really still people who want the cyber Smoke crap? I thought we were over it by now.

I said it was pointless because DLC should be used for characters that weren't in MK9, Smoke can easily skip this game, I think Reiko, Fujin or Sareena deserve it more IMO.

personally, I love human smoke. however, if they brought him back as DLC in his cyborg form obviously he'd get his own moveset this time around so I'd welcome his addition too. best case scenario of all though: LK unit DLC, 1 variant for cyrax, 1 sektor, 1 smoke, this would just be awesome

Yeah... I guess I am more "traditional" in that sense. I really hated Cyber Sub-Zero and I thought it was ridiculous he had his own moves when he is pretty much the same character of his human form. The way they handled Cyrax and Sektor (human and cyborg) in MK9 was spot on.
 
Incidentally, I would much prefer Fujin or Havik as DLC, but that's not the point. I just meant that Smoke would be far from pointless, as he'd be a popular character who would probably sell very well.

Fujin - I think NRS won't add him because of his similar moves with Kung Lao and maybe a little bit Kitana.
Cyrax, Sektor and Cyber Smoke - We have Takeda and Predator, no way for cyber team except Sub-Zero's cyber skin. Smoke could be a NPC in story mode. Also there is Cyrax assisst and that means no Cyrax as for me. Also Cassie Cage uses Sektor like rocket moves.
Kabal - We saw Kabal assisst in last stream, it means no Kabal for MKX.
Rain - We saw Rain assisst. Same thing with Kabal and Cyrax.
Noob Saibot - Johnny Cage's Stunt Double variation similar to his moves, also i guess there is Noob assist on last stream but i could be wrong.
Shang Tsung - I like this character from the begining of Mk History and i really want to see him in MKX but, we already have Quan Chi and Shinnok, i can't see any hope for him. Who knows.
Sereena - If they want to add a female DLC after, it will be most likely Skarlet. Sereena's fan demand is weak.

As for me all possibilites belongs to Baraka, Reiko and Havik. If Reiko and Havik are bossess, they will just add Baraka on the main roster and that is all about the final roster.

I voted for Bo Rai Cho, Havik, Fujin, Frost & Sareena. My top 5 3D era characters.

Totally agree! I would only add Fujin though, people say he's too similar to others, but he can still have a lot of unique moves:
- ponytail whip, tornado to keep someone dizzy and unable to move for a few seconds, double tornado to lift some1 up and let them crash to the ground, floating moves, use wind as counter moves to projectiles. He could have Dhalsim's rotating attacks. He could rotate, causing wind to suck the opponent in.
 
I guess I have a slim string of hope they make a season pass 2. Still rooting for Fujin, Havik, and Reiko to make it in.
