MKX Cage Family Trailer

Seriously... I kinda feel like this game is coming off as the Mortal Kombat that Midway/NRS always wanted to make.

I'm not sure if it's the game that they always wanted to make, but it sure does seem to resemble the brutal / dark-and-gritty MK8 that they wanted to make before MKvsDC came out.

I think Cage looks like David Patrick Kelly from The Warriors and Commando.

Googled David Patrick Kelly.

Found a photo of Breckin Meyer in the top 15 pics.

Shush now, little one. We agreed never to speak of said monstrosity again.

 We, who? :-D
Anyways, I'm just sayin' that MKX seems to resemble the MK8 "that could have been," based on Vincent Proce's concept art.
That's a good thing, as I did love that art style.

It's not the same thing, AT ALL.
There are people here like sub one whining that because of those 2 characters he will not get the game?
Really?
2 characters are stopping people from getting what looks to be an otherwise stellar game?
Okay.
Well, I guess those people aren't really fans if 2 characters stop them from getting a game.
That's some really weak shit.
2 characters that I didn't like have never stopped me from getting an MK game, EVER, and they won't now either.

There's a HUGE difference between not liking something / being disappointed at something and whining to the point that you won't be getting the game because of it.
I did the first and expressed my disappointment with those 2 returning from the dead, but they sure as hell aren't stopping me from picking up an otherwise excellent game.

The same here. I already pre-ordered the game and am gonna enjoy it. But i feel like they wasted an amazing chance by putting all this parents. Reiko rain fujin hell even drahmin could have been awesome in this game . That is why am disappointed. But if the roster turned out to be bigger then i won't mind sonya and jax

Maybe we will get a Vincent Proce skin pack? The Cold War Scorpion is based on somebody's fan art.

Vincent Price variations:

Usher, Prospero Phibes. Now that's a guest character!!

About the trailer, I lost count on how many times I rewinded Shinnok's scene where he was like "*yawn who the hell are these dudes?"

I hate to be "that guy" but if someone decides against buying a game due to certain characters not being in the games or certain characters being in the games, no one on these forums can really say that he/she is not a "real fan."

Let's be real here, if Ed Boon made this exact same game after MKX and just replaced Johnny, Sonya, Raiden, Scorpion, and Subzero with Hsu Hao, Drahmin, Daegon, Kira, and Frost pretty much 95-99% of the people on this forum would state how the game sucks and they won't buy the game at all, even if those 5 characters had top-notch gameplay. I can say for myself that if it wasn't for the interesting new characters AND the variation system, I'd probably would have waited for a price drop or not bought the game at all.

I love his face

I don't know exactly why, but this Shinnock looks way scarier than I remember. Something about his face, his pressence... there's just something so detatched about him like he knows damn well he's a fallen Elder God and he just doesn't give three wet fecks about it. He's got that look in his face like when Neo totally came to grips with the Matrix. The guy just looks like he's not even concerned with reality at all. He's truly a Lovecraftian horror in that scene.

I agree.
The parents being in plays into the whole "passing of the torch," which Ed Boon has highlighted in various interviews that he likes the interactions between children and their parents.
So, I expected that since E3 2014.
As much as I would have also wanted more post-MK3 characters in MKX, for some reason NRS chose to have only Shinnok, Kenshi and Quan Chi.
Am I a bit disappointed that Fujin likely won't be playable? Sure.
Doesn't mean that I won't get it, though.
The 8 new MKX characters will be my replacement for the post-MK3 characters that I would have wanted.
The parents will likely play differently from their children, as is shown with Johnny and Sonya.

I think the lack of expression on his face while fighting two at once gives a little bit of it.

The outfit is another strong point. He is dressed like an Elder God, even his crown has a new style.

He is so much badass. Only on this scene he did a better role than on MK4 and MK:A together (he lost a battle for Li Mei on the last one, just can't believe this).

Ya, you mean he no longer looks like a cross dressing old clown? Lol but ya this Shinnok looks sick.

Yeah. He's freakishly regal looking for a disgraced god. And that total lack of color that is his face... I mean... it looks like some weird fleshy stone. So far, every time I've seen him in the ads, he's given me the willies. Shao Kahn aint never done that before. I think the best word to describe Shinnok is... uncanny.
