Do you think Sheeva and Smoke will be secret characters?

Its not just a magazine, the whole Aussie review thing said around 25. Maybe he meant 26.

Ed Boon said most of the MKT will be in the game not all. I don't think Rain is going to show up in the game. Plus, just bekause Shao Kahn has a Fataitly doesnt mean he is playable.

Tedakin, with the audio leak being even MORE reliable now than ever. Smoke is definitely 100% confirmed dude.
We would of never thought Quan Chi was playable if it weren't for the audio leak, now that he is definitely confirmed there is no question that the character intros found on the leak are legit finds.

All of the characters we heard so far that are officially playable are 21 spots-

That leaves us with these characters that have been rumored to be playable:
baraka
quan chi
shang tsung
smoke
kabal
sheeva
shao kahn
scarlett

This list is 8, not 5 for the total 26. So either the total number of playable characters on DISC (unlockable and initial roster) is more than 26, or there will be a lot more DLC characters than anticipated. Especially when any of these extra characters haven't even been added in:

fujin
goro
kintaro
motaro

FINALLY!!! someone mentioning kintaro! am I the only one that thinks he has the potential to look incredibly awesome?

NOTHING is confirmed until we see gameplay.

Things aren't looking too good for Rain :( First Jin Saotome, now Rain...

Still, I am happy with the roster so far. I can't wait to see how Sheeva/Smoke look this time around.

There ya go 26 my guess is the 2 very bottom squares on the character select screen will be for Shao Kahn and/or Quan chi/ Shang Tsung

and we all know that the main DLC character is Rain...so he will eventually be in..and kratos is gna be ps3 DLC exclusive they wont have him in any of the main 26 squares on the select screen since 26 is on xbox as well without him.

I would bet that the bottom two are Shang Tsung and Quan Chi (sorry to reference the deadly alliance, but they would be the playable "bad guys") I don't think Kahn will be playable, because as stated before.. just because he has a fatality doesn't mean he's playable. The most, imho, plausible explanation for his fatality would be that he is super hard to beat in story mode, and by default, when he defeats you he does a fatality... really putting the hammer down (no pun intended) on the you lose, game over.

Not to say that he might be unlockable for offline only... but I don't think that he will be playable from the beginning.

Okay why am I still seeing some posts saying Goro might be playable? HE IS UNPLAYABLE, BOON SAID SO! Sure he may be bullshitting, but im going with that for now. Bottom line, everyone from MK1 - UMK3, plus Quan Chi and minus Rain and sub-bosses, and Shao Kahn either being unlockable or unplayable equals 26 on-screen Characters.

Done deal, end discussion.

i guess tsung goro and kahn will be not in the main roster because they are bosses (tsung as a boss like they told us in the magazine) but the guys hadnt seen the whole roster (just 21 characters)... and they told us there will be minimum two extra fighters... so i think even when the bosses are playable there will be minimum two extra characters to unlock without the bosses...

On top on that, informer magazine said Goro isn't.

Well technically Ed said in that informer magazine that "Goro was just a boss for now."

But yeah, I expect him to be unplayable.

Sounds about right to me. Rain and other DLC characters will be DLC obviously, Kratos will be under the DLC section, and the "red lady" will probably be under someone else's slot. Shao Kahn, Goro and Kintaro are almost certainly unplayable.

Exactly right.
You said it in another thread but, you're right, it wouldn't make sense going through arcade mode with Shao Kahn and in the end it'll be Shao Kahn vs Shao Kahn. That'd be flat out stupid.
But you never know =/ they might be unlockables.
