MK11's new hero (protagonist)?

Hence, futhering my point that even a new character can be the main protagonist for that debut game, and it doesn't have to be a "Blockbuster" character.

Plus, if the blockbuster characters are always the main protagonists and hogging all the spotlight, then how the hell do people ever expect these new characters to ever shine.
It seems like a huge oxymoron, to me, when people say that the "new characters haven't earned their spot," yet they only want the big named characters as the main protagonists.
1 negates the other.

Who is this "everyone" that is saying this?
Where do you get your facts from?
I haven't really heard many people saying that Cassie's "Selfie" Fatality is the best Fatality.
 
Apologies, I didnt mean everyone. But if you go on some list, such as "Top Ten MKX Fatalities" you will find that most number 1s are cassie cage's selfie. Agreed with you, Shujinko should be a protagonist again. He never got a chance to shine in MKD (since he, you know, brang back the dragon king.) An MKD2 would be nice.

The original 7 don't have to be the main protagonists for every game.

Cassie, Takeda, Kung Jin, Jacqui and Kotal Kahn can be protagonists for MK11.

Every MK game should have "starring Scorpion and Sub-Zero" on the title. They are the ones who are supposed to have Top Billing.

No, it should not.
The fact that those 2 are in MK is as obvious as the fact that the earth will rotate around the sun every day.
It doesn't need to be shit-smeared all over the title or the box for people to know that they are in, as well.

I agree with majority of your post on this topic Commander. It's very nice to see someone with sense on here. I only wish I knew how to thank each and every of your comments.

I believe you need to have a minimum of 100 posts before you can thank anyone in the forums.

On the subject, I hope if things go what I may think it will go story-wise, I can see Fujin as a new mentor to those new-generation heroes (Cassie and company), as their trust and suspicion on Raiden's cruel and inhumane methods on protecting Earthrealm deteriorate and rise respectively. I will be certainly mad if Fujin doesn't have a key role in the next story. Also speaking of Outworld, remember what I was talking new characters that will rival the 4 new heroes, Commander? Well, instead of them coming from the Netherrealm, I can see Kotal Kahn setting up a strike force team, can be lead by either Li Mei, his right-hand friend Reptile or an entirely new character wandering from a different realm.

Although the truce between Earthrealm and Outworld is now null and void, I can still see not in an all-out war, not least just yet, as Kotal is nearly or still trying to maintain order in an somewhat unstabilized realm AND still has to deal with skirmishes from a few Edenian resistances.

If they can find a way to make Li Mei Outworld's own Liu Kang, I hope she'll still be an ally to Earthrealm's heroes.

Li Mei being MK's Sarah Connor would fit perfect. Someone from the future will go to Outworld first and later Earthrealm in order to warn them that the true threat will come unless they settle their differences and that includes saving all the revenants.

I'm 100% fine with this scenario, Vigilante.
I just don't need Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden and Liu Kang to be the main guys in all the games.
They can be in the future MK as playable characters, while also being cameos at the same time (like Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana in MKX).
The entire Original 7 or majority of the MKII cast also don't need to be in the next game (for me), either.
Namely Johnny Cage, Sonya, Kano, Mileena, Baraka and Jax.
Sonya, Johnny, Kano and Jax don't have to die, but to have them sit out for a game or 2 would be nice.

I just want to see the new guys taking up the helm and some villains to rival them.
Doesn't necessarily have to be Kotal (although I like the idea).
Perhaps also 4 new characters that are evil that give the 4 new heroes a run for their money (plus, perhaps 1 returning villain, like Shang Tsung).
 
Kotal doesn't have to be a villain, but he's still bittered due to events during the corruption of Earthrealm, like getting his ass whooped by Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei. So he might be a anti-hero, just to be somewhat an obstacle against the Earthrealm's new heroes. And by setting up this strike force team, he can relieve some burden off, and focus on future planning as he tightens his grip in Outworld.
 
If I had to choose Keep Cassie as the hero. From My understanding Mkx was the "Passing the torch" Nrs did a lot with Johnny in MkX to prepare him for the mentor role and I loved it. People are upset that Cassie got the final hit on Shinnok but to be honest She could not have done it alone she had help from Jin, Jacqui, and Takeda so to me they all have a hand in defeating Shinnok working as a team. Which by the way was the lesson Johnny was teaching them. So Im cool with Earthrealms Teen Titans taking the mantle and protecting earthrealm with Cassie as team leader
 
Well cassie and the gang are cool, well except for jacqui. But i don't like that a god got beat by a teen girl. Raiden should have got the last hit

i agree with this. but didnt you say Jacqui should be left out of the MK11 roster? thats a little extreme... no matter if you like her or not be realistic she's a shoe in for MK11 lol
 
I mean, make the damn fights realistic.

Like:

Stryker beating Mileena, Ermac and KINTARO? Stryker is my favorite character but come on.

(MKX)

Takeda beating Ermac? Cassie beating Corrupted Shinnok? Come on now.
