MK HD Kollection

Re: mk hd dead? no hope?

While they COULD do that, they are not. As what we heard about was not mo-kap that was being done, it was full costumes, makeup, etc.

Thanks a lot, Mr McCarron ! We know very few about this compilation, but i'm still very excited by playing the original trilogy on my PS3... MK1, MK2 and UMK3 are very important games for me (and many other fans)... If only i could see some developments footages !

MK9 + MK HD = 2011 will be a great year, anyway !

Re: Your Opinions

Im starting to worry about the current state on the game if backbone is working on it than it needs to be better than MK2 on psn

There is no confirmation of Backbone working on it. Backbone simply came up through speculation of which studio was most likely to do it, since NRS are out of the picture. There are different studios under WB that may be working on it also.

Re: Your Opinions

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet. But I'd like to see lots of codes. Even codes which weren't in the original games. Part of the appeal for me back then was uncovering a lot of secrets.

Re: Your Opinions

I've built up a personal hate for Jade from UMK3, that cheap b*tch :)
HA HA HA!! I AGREE 100%!!! :)

Sprites & Backgrounds: REALISTIC!
Sprite animation: Extra animation would be ok as long as the behavioral dynamics of each character are true to the originals.
Blood: Animated like the original.
Finishing moves: I would update them a tad to fit with the rest. I would also get rid of the multiple body parts from UMK3.
Characters: No boss play, I would make an easter eggs with the rumored characters as playable for a limited time. (like the way pong and galaga were)
Exclusives: Just original arcade components!!!!!
AI & Gameplay: I would have an option here to make the AI Corrected or the same.
Online play: Again I would put this as an option too. Like in the Call of Duty games you can play hardcore, free for all etc...

I agree with everything you said, except the part about Fatalities. I have a question, why do so many fans wish to "correct" the Fatalities where multiple body parts appear? I know, I know.... it looks funny, but that's part of the nostalgia of the classic MK games. Should we rid ourselves of Johnny Cage's classic triple decapitation Fatality too? Some people say seeing 5 skulls, 3 rib cages and 7 arms is silly and "unrelistic".... um, when has MK ever been 100% true to real life? Might as well give Goro only 2 arms, since no human has 4. And in the Pit stage, we should probably remove Santa and the witch flying past the moon because, frankly, that's just crazy!

Sorry for the mini rant, I honestly do understand why some fans want certain changes made, but I really feel it would wreck the original games' unique personality. Mortal Kombat has never totally been 'dark and gritty', just look at the inclusion of "Toasty!". It's always had a lighter side with little gags and inside jokes (I've never seen a Kano transformation). If they want to change the little things that made MK, well, MK, then might as well skip the re-make altogether, in my opinion. Stay true to the classics, just polish 'em up. ;-)

HD Kollection in 2011?

Since I didn't want to bump an older, outdated thread and there weren't any pertinent ones currently active, I decided to create this new, all-encompasing thread for news and speculation on the Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last year in August, news broke here on TRMK that the HD Kollection was in development and tentatively scheduled for a November 2010 release. That, of course, didn't happen. Since the time of the original story, many things have happened in regards to the game. Several big name retailers began taking preorders (most namely GameStop in the US and GAME in the UK). Not only that, but other major chains had the game listed in their database and a bar code was assigned to it (0883929168118). One thing that didn't happen, though, was an official announcement from Warner Bros or NeatherRealm Studios. Despite that, Ed Boon and Hans Lo, in an interview at GamesCom, gave a wink-nod acknowledgement while also refusing to deny its existence, saying they didn't want to lie to fans.

In early 2011, the game began showing up again with more current, updated release dates ranging from early Februrary, early March and even early April. Most recently, the game surfaced on a 3D artists' resume (but was quickly removed due to inconsiderate fans bombarding him with questions). Now, with tons of evidence for and against this game, we must speculate: Will the Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection be released in 2011?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, MK_MortalKombat via Twitter:
Protip: Asking a question every day will not get an answer faster. I am not going to answer until the time is right.

Obviously, this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the HD Kollection, but there are many fans who have wrote to the official account as well as Ed, Rigo, Hans, Hector, etc. asking about the game. I will assume they are simply referring to questions regarding specific characters, but the part about "until the time is right" intrigues me.

You are like the crusader for this game bro! If there is ANY information on this game it can't hide from you. Good shit.

Re: Who is gonna buy MK HD Arcade Kollection and what is your PSN gametag?

Skeptical at this point of its existence or its March release date. If that were legitimate, I would think something official would have come out by now. That is less than 3 months out and no screenshots? No official announcement? Even if it is real, I'm really doubting March being the release date.

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

^^^ EXACTLY thanks shawn if it wasnt for you we wouldnt here shit about this game and our hopes probably would have died long ago. I say if and when it does come out we all send sum change to shawn and cover the 40 bucks for him. either way thanks man keep it coming bro

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

Just as I did before with FYE, I decided to also contact Blockbuster regarding the game listing on their site. Here's what they said:

Thank you for contacting Blockbuster Customer Care.

I understand that you would like to know when "Mortal Kombat: HD Arcade Kollection" will be available for rental or purchase.

It appears that the title will be released on 03/02/2011. Once the title is available, you will be able to see it in our stores and as well online. However, it will still depend with the manufacturers. You can contact your local store or check it on our website once it is released.

Should you have any further questions, please let us know.

As always, take it for what it's worth. I'm sure they're just going by what they have listed on their website, but they didn't just make up the date. Could March be when we see the HD Kollection?

Re: HD Kollection in 2011?

I wonder if TRMK is gonna get anything exclusive (or be shorted anything) for breaking the news of this game?

Anyhow, keep your eyes peeled, Shawn. Your efforts are HIGHLY appreciated!
