MK HD Kollection

Re: mk hd dead? no hope?

i have 0 patience for this game. Its gotten to the point to where i want it as much as a new system coming out... JUST GIVE US A DATE THATS ALL...

That's the kind of reaction Ed & co expect us to have for this game. I guess they achieved their aim.

Re: mk hd dead? no hope?

Something interesting. I was browsing Rigo's Twitter page and noticed he (somewhat) had a conversation regarding the HD Kollection with someone. Basically, to sum it up, the guy asks Rigo about the HD Kollection. Whether intentional or not, Rigo replied saying, "I'm hoping to get #Mkast 2.2.4 out this week....". The guy replies questioning whether the MKast will mention the HD Kollection, since that's what Rigo's reply appears to hint at. Rigo responds back, "I forgot to mention Elvis is a guest host on this episode. #ConspiracyTheory". Hhm... the sarcasm in that tweet sounds bad in regards to the HD Kollection. Once again, after being questioned about the HD Kollection (and Elvis) not appearing in the MKast, Rigo replies, "Remember when I said #ConspiracyTheory?"

So what does this all mean? Who knows with the MK team. But with the joke about Elvis and the #ConspiracyTheory tag being used, it does raise some concerns. What does everyone else think? This, of course, is on the heels of Ed questioning what the HD Kollection even is. On one hand, they're finally acknowledging the game. On the other hand.... their acknowledgements can be seen as bad. Damn their mind games!

Update: Webster's dictionary defines "Conspiracy Theory" as: a theory that explains an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators.

Re: mk hd dead? no hope?

i think iphone umk3 was the hd kollection

epic fail, well not really epic since no one else but us really knows about it

fan fail than i guess

Re: mk hd dead? no hope?

Judging from their recent responses, I think it's easier for them to pretend it never happened than to say it was cancelled, since that'd be confirming its development and shift focus (to whatever degree) from MK9 to MKHD once more. It'd probably result in fans bombarding them with questions, or pestering them to push on and release the game. So what I'm saying is perhaps the reason NRS is replying lately, and more importantly replying in this way, is because the project is 100% dead now. Since it was never officially confirmed, they can easily just cover it up instead of explaining why it didn't work out. Now THAT is a conspiracy theory, haha!

Anyway just my thoughts, I could be wrong and they could just be stirring us up. Not really worried about it though, haven't been for a while now. If they've been trying to make people forget about the game, I'd say they did a pretty good job.

Yeah, who knows any more. It does make sense, though, that WB wouldn't want them talking about this game or anything other than MK9. That's supposed to be their money maker and they don't need to split their attention between several projects. At this point, nothing would surprise me, but I'm guessing that if the game is real, it'll be released several months after MK9. To release it too close to (or before) MK9 will only take sales away from both games.

I still believe MKHD was initially intended to be a smart, profitable way to promote MK9. Just for the fact that MKHD would be showcasing the classic 2D style that MK9 is based on, and also including its demo. A back to back of where it started and how far it came. I think the most we can hope for now is a release after MK9, even several months after like you said. I don't think Iphone UMK3 was the kollection at all, but it's possible it was released partly in place of it. It could've even been a rush job once things fell through with either the game's release date or the game itself. Anyway enough conspiracy theories for today haha...

Re: mk hd dead? no hope?

Well theres one other possibility. They could include it within MK9 itself !
It might be unlockable in some way as a bonus game.
That would be a great surprise, and it would not interfere with the release dates.
They could always re-release it as a downloadable game later on.

I would prefer that they release it next week on PSN, then everyone interested in MK will buy it, and by the time MK9 comes out, we will be dying to buy that too.
Thats 5 months from now so we need some MK to hold us over!
I think less people would buy the MKhd Kollection after buying MK9.
Many more people would buy MKHD now in anticipation of the new game.

Maybe they can do what Ubisoft did with Prince of Persia. Basically, instead of making a disc with all three, remade HD games on it... they release them all separately. For your idea, they could release only "Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3" bundled with MK9 (perhaps only with the Kollectors or Tournament Editions), since it's most like MK9. Then, at a later date, release them all (separately) on PSN for about $10 - $15. Personally, I think that makes more sense and will probably net them more money (some people only want 1 game or another, and may not be willing to fork over $30 or $40 for just 1 HD update they desire, as opposed to spending $10 - $15 on just that one).

Yeah seems like that. Didn't someone from gamestop say, when the game got pulled from the list, it was indefinitly cancelled or something like that. I think we won't see this game anytime soon. Judging from their responses..hmm..we might never see this game..and wanna make MKHD a "elvis is still alive" kinda myth.

Mehh..mindgames and stuff are fun..but only till a certain point.

Re: MK Arcade Kollection in December?

i would rather they have it as an unlockable in the mk9 game. If call of duty can have a nazi zombie mode, they can put the hd collection on there. Prob won't happen but its possible i guess

Re: MK Arcade Kollection in December?

why are people being so nasty about it? and why are people saying its a dead topic thats not going to happen?!, my guess is that the team are focusing more on the MK9 game at the moment which is totally understandable, i think this is still an important topic and needs to be addressed constantly, if the MK team were to come and look on this thread and see your behaviour towards each other on the topic and being bitter because it did not hit the release date or dont care anymore coz you feel cheated or whatever then that is not going to look good,

how about instead we show the team that MKHD is a still a great idea that has many people interested and they should make it however long it takes!, do a good job rather than rush it :)

preach on bro!

Re: MK Arcade Kollection in December?

If this game doesnt come out in december than there is no point to include the demo for mk9!
if anything thay can bundle MK HD with MK9 collector edition(for ps3) or sumthing
i dont want them to rush or nothing cause im pretty sure we dont want it 2 be crappy

Bro, I agree with you whole-heartedly.
I don't see them including a demo (MK 9) with the Kollection, according to MK's past history of no demos, but hopefully I'm wrong and they DO have a demo coming with it before April 19th.

As for the Kollection itself:
I think that they should either wait and release it with MK 9 KE / TE as you mentioned, or just release it in between MK 9 and MK 10, in order to kill the waiting time.

For example:

MK 9 - April 2011
MK HD Kollection - 2012
MK 10 - 2013

Re: MK Arcade Kollection in December?

Oh... I mean... 2013...
I hope last quarter 2012 for MK10... If it will be :)

What I meant was that if the HD Kollection is thrown in between MK 9 and the making of MK 10, it would feed the hunger for MORE MK.

It will NOT be included with the premium bundles. They would've mentioned that and it would kill a lot of revenue.

I'm betting it gets a 3rd/4th quarter 2011 release. :(

Re: MK Arcade Kollection in December?

It would be bad ass to get the MK Kollection in the early months of 2011. If it's not ready to come out, then I'd rather wait till after MK9 comes out. I don't want some half ass crap and not be satisfied with the whole HD quality.
