Metal Gear Solid

I could have sworn this thread blew up when Metal Gear Solid 5 came out.

Ah well, this game is tits. Sneaky around and getting that tactical takedown is satisfying. Not too mention that the whole open world aspect is fvcking stellar.

I'm only 4% down with the game on Chapter 1 Episode 6 (starting it today) so I have to develop all of the good shit. I do have to get good though. My stealth is ass and I get spotted EVERY single mission. Maybe I'll try to do a side opt where I don't try to take anybody down.

Story is good of course. Depending on how the ending is I think I'll play the other previous games from the beginning (I know I have sinned, forgive me padre).

Not touching online till I'm the best.

I wouldn't base playing the other games, just based off of that.
The other games are pretty stellar, on their own, imo.

The Legacy Edition on PS3 goes for $20 and it includes Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
On 360, the HD Collection includes Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

20 bucks!?
Shiiit that's fvcking beautiful. Can I download the legacy collection? My Ps3 won't play discs :(

Fvck me.
Looks like I have to drop 100 bucks to get my shit fixed.

*sigh*

Actually never mind that, there's the collection on ps2 that I can get so I'm good

Play MGS1. It's the best in the series (most people say MGS3 is the best, but I personally think it's second best to MGS1).

Also the Legacy Collection includes VR Missions which is just a little side game of a bunch of well... VR Missions. The best part of VR Missions is you get 3 missions to play as my favorite character.

Gray fox right?

I was gonna play them in order so don't worry about me being a g- special snow flake and playing it out of order :top:

VR Missions, MGS1 and MGS2 are my favorites out of all of them, but then again, I have more of a favoritism towards Solid Snake rather than Big Boss.
Nothing wrong with Big Boss, but I just prefer Solid Snake's story in MGS1 and MGS2 more.

EDIT:
YungQ94, if you want to play them in chronological order, it would be:

- MGS3
- Peace Walker
- MGS5
- Metal Gear (NES / MSX, on the HD and Legacy Collection)
- Metal Gear 2 (NES / MSX, on the HD and Legacy Collection)
- MGS1
- MGS2
- MGS4

When it comes to building up your army, do you guys extract everybody you take down or only dudes with good grades?

For me, it was a mix of both.

When it came to Ground Zeroes I extracted as many guards as possible via chopper so that (a) they don't wake up and continue patrolling again and (b) it made saving Chico and Paz much easier.
It took some time to do that, but it made beating GZ a bit more smooth and when I started The Phantom Pain my mother base had a decent staff to start with from GZ.
When it came to TPP, I tried to mainly get the guys with good ratings, unless there was someone in the way that would have made trouble for me and raised an alarm if I didn't Fulton him out of there.

Okay that's what I thought.

Recently, I've been extracting bros with okay grades while snagging 5 or so specialists here and there. I've started killing the all E soldiers so that way they don't wake up and alright command. Dump them somewhere near a rock formation and continue with my mission

Just hold them up, don't kill them. When you do a hold-up on them they don't move unless you sound the alarm or another soldier finds them.

Lmao I won't go through with it.
Morals and stuff like that.

Then again I'm not sure since I've been in a bad mood all week. Some peeps just gonna have to get the blade.
